Abstract

Academic management plays a strategic role in improving the quality of education by focusing on curriculum management, human resource development, and the utilization of technology. Effective curriculum management ensures adaptability and relevance to the needs of students, society, and the job market. Human resource development, through continuous professional training, enhances the competencies of educators and administrative staff, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration. Additionally, the integration of technology in academic management streamlines administrative processes, supports data-driven decision-making, and expands learning accessibility and flexibility for students. However, challenges such as digital divides and infrastructure limitations require inclusive strategies to ensure equitable implementation. This study emphasizes that the synergy between these three components is crucial for creating an educational ecosystem that is efficient, effective, and future-oriented. Academic management, when executed effectively, serves as the foundation for producing competent, innovative, and globally competitive graduates.

Abstract

Accreditation plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of education and graduates by ensuring that educational institutions meet established standards. As a quality assurance instrument, accreditation encourages continuous improvement in curriculum, educator competency, facilities, and quality management. Its impact is evident in producing graduates who are competent, competitive, and trusted by the workforce. However, the implementation of accreditation faces challenges such as disparities in education quality across regions, difficulties in adapting to technological changes, and potential issues with transparency in assessments. To enhance its effectiveness, collaboration between accreditation bodies, educational institutions, the government, and the industrial sector is necessary to establish relevant standards and promote inclusivity. By strategically addressing challenges and utilizing opportunities, accreditation can become a driving force in creating a high-quality education system, aligned with labor market demands, and capable of producing graduates who are well-prepared to contribute to society

Abstract

Education is a major pillar in the development of a country, and the quality of education in Indonesia is highly dependent on teacher competence. This study analyzes the relevance of objectives and materials in teacher education and training (diklat) programs at SMP Negeri 2 Batu Belah. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that although the training program has benefits in improving teacher competence, there are significant challenges, such as the inconsistency of the materials with practical needs in the field and the lack of training in the use of digital technology. In addition, theoretical training materials provide less opportunity for teachers to develop practical skills. This study recommends the need for updating training materials that are more relevant and in accordance with the specific needs of teachers, as well as improving evaluation and feedback to support the effectiveness of training programs in improving the quality of teaching in schools

Abstract

PURPOSE - This study investigates the influence of the Internal Control System (ICS) and Good University Governance (GUG) on fraud prevention, with organizational commitment serving as a moderating variable. The research was conducted at private universities (PTS) under the supervision of LLDIKTI Region I in Medan City. The study was motivated by the increasing cases of fraud in the higher education sector, particularly the misuse of student aid funds, which threaten institutional integrity, accountability, and sustainability.METHODOLOGY - A quantitative research design was employed, with respondents consisting of university leaders and administrative staff selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering ICS, GUG, organizational commitment, and fraud prevention. Instrument validity and reliability were tested to ensure measurement accuracy. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess direct effects and moderating relationships.FINDING - The findings demonstrate that the effectiveness of ICS has a positive and significant impact on fraud prevention. Likewise, the application of GUG principles contributes significantly to reducing the risk of fraud. Furthermore, organizational commitment strengthens the relationship between ICS, GUG, and fraud prevention, indicating its role as an effective moderating factor. The study concludes that fraud prevention in higher education requires a comprehensive approach that integrates control systems, governance practices, and organizational commitment. These results provide valuable insights for policymakers and higher education leaders in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity across institutions

Abstract

Principal transfers are a common phenomenon in the Indonesian education system and have significant implications for school management and performance. In this study, school performance refers specifically to teacher performance, learning quality, work discipline, and the effectiveness of program implementation. This study aims to analyze the impact of principal transfers on strategic planning, human resource management, and teacher performance at junior high schools in Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency. This research employed a qualitative case study approach conducted at SMPN 5 Bukit Tambun and SMPN 2 Siantan. Participants consisted of 2 principals, 12 teachers, and 4 administrative staff selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using data reduction, categorization, and thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that principal transfers can generate positive changes, including the development of a more adaptive vision and mission, the strengthening of a work-discipline culture, and more systematic teacher performance management. Transfers also enhance teacher motivation through structured supervision, professional development activities, and increased stakeholder participation. These improvements contribute to better instructional quality and more organized program implementation. However, excessively frequent transfers risk disrupting the continuity of long-term school programs. Therefore, principal transfers should be implemented selectively and strategically, with clear planning and minimum tenure policies to ensure leadership stability and protect the sustainability of long-term educational programs while still promoting school improvement
