Abstract

The aims of this study were: (1) to describe the quality of the workshop of lesson study on science teachers at SMKN 2 Seririt; and (2) to analyze the differences of the student’s learning achievement in science subject before and after workshop of lesson study at SMKN 2 Seririt. This study was a pre-experimental study using one group pretest-postest design. The population of this study were focused on eleventh grade students of SMKN 2 Seririt in the academic year 2013/2014. The samples of the class for this study was determined by random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and hipotesis analyzed by paired sample t-test  for the data of student’s achievement in science subject. The result showed that: (1) the workshop of lesson study on science teachers at SMKN 2 Seririt fell into very good qualification ( 91,781); and (2) there were significant differences of the student’s learning achievement in science subject before and after workshop of lesson study (t=123,8493; p<0,05).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI; (2) kreativitas mahasiswa pada implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI; (3) motivasi belajar mahasiswa pada implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah diskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI dilakukan melalui proses (a) persiapan tema, pembuatan kelas maya schoology, dan pembuatan form penilaian presentasi diskusi, (b) proses pembelajaran Blended Learning berbasis BALI; dan (c) penutup berupa penyimpulan dan evaluasi hasil pembelajaran; (2) implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI mampu mendorong kreativitas mahasiswa dengan adanya indicator-indikator deskriptif hasil pengamatan dalam proses pembelajaran; (3) implementasi Blended Learning berbasis BALI  mampu mendorong motivasi belajar mahasiswa  dengan teramatinya indikator sesuai dengan teori  Schwtzgebel dan Kalb.  Berdasarkan temuan hasil penelitian disarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya mengggunakan subjek penelitian yang lebih banyak dengan metode yang berbeda misalnya eksperimen, penelitian tindakan, pengembangan ataupun metode campuran (mix method).

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of flipped classroom innovations through the implementation of a culturo-techno-contextual approach, specifically focusing on enhancing critical thinking skills among biology students while considering gender differences. Critical thinking is recognised as a vital competency for 21st-century learners to analyse, evaluate, and synthesise information for informed decision-making. The research methodology employed in this study is a Concurrent Embedded Design. The quantitative aspect involves a quasi-experimental design, wherein a sample of 295 secondary school biology students is divided into an experimental group, which engages with the culturo-techno-contextual flipped classroom model, two positive control groups, and one negative control group. The qualitative component encompasses the results of observations, the completion of worksheets, and reflective learning experiences from both students and teachers. Quantitative data were analysed using two-way ANCOVA, while qualitative data were analysed descriptively. The results showed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in critical thinking assessment. Furthermore, gender analysis showed that both male and female students benefited from the cultural-techno-contextual approach, with female students showing higher improvements in critical thinking skills compared to male students. This study contributes to the existing literature by demonstrating the efficacy of a culturo-techno-contextual flipped classroom model in enhancing critical thinking skills, while also addressing the importance of gender considerations in educational outcomes. The findings underscore the potential of innovative pedagogical strategies to create inclusive learning environments that foster critical thinking across diverse student populations.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi di Banjar Dinas Tatag Desa Kukuh Marga Tabanan Bali, dapat dirangkum permasalahan terkait sampah sebagai berikut: (1) Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menerapkan prinsip 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), (2) ketiadaan aturan yang jelas dan lengkap terkait pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga berbasis 3R, (3) ketiadaan sarana prasarana yang memadai dalam mendukung penerapan 3R, dan (4) Program terkait penerapan 3R selalu terkendala sehingga tidak berkesinambungan. Solusi yang kami tawarkan merupakan solusi yang mengadopsi dari pengelolaan sampah di Jepang sebagai berikut: (1) membuat aturan yang jelas terkait pemilahan sampah. Pembuangan sampah dibuat terjadwal yang dibedakan sesuai hari, jam, dan jenis sampahnya. Hari dan jam tertentu hanya boleh membuang sampah jenis tertentu, (2) dukungan sarana prasarana. Membuat kantong plastik khusus sampah organik, anorganik, logam/kaleng, dan kertas yang dibedakan dari warnanya. Masyarakat wajib menggunakan kantong plastik khusus ini yang nantinya dapat dibeli di koperasi PKK/desa atau minimarket terdekat. Pembangunan tempat pengumpulan sampah dari rumah tangga yang bersekat sesuai jenis sampahnya, (3) penyuluhan masyarakat terkait aturan baru pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, (4) memfasilitasi kerja sama dengan pengepul sampah plastik, dan (5) Penempelan poster aturan 3R dan jadwal pembuangan sampah. Pelaksanaan program dilakukan secara bertahap bersama mitra sesuai alur pengelolaan sampah dalam mengatasi akar permasalahan berdasarkan solusi yang ditawarkan, antara lain: (1) pembuatan bak penampungan sampah sementara, (2) pembagian kantong sampah plastik berwarna, (3) pembuatan aturan dan poster pengelolaan sampah berbasis 3R, dan (4) sosialisasi dan uji coba ke Masyarakat mitra. Secara keseluruhan target kegiatan sudah tercapai dengan sangat baik. Terdapat kegiatan dan target luaran program pengabdian yang perlu disempurnakan untuk hasil yang optimal. Kekurangan tersebut dirangkum dalam rencana tahapan selanjutnya sebagai berikut: (1) penambahan bak sampah di 3 tempat pemandian umum yang lain serta beberapa Pura berdasarkan laporan dan permintaan warga mitra, (2) penambahan pembagian kantong plastik sampah berwarna, (3) pembuatan stiker/brosur teknis 3R untuk ditempel di masing-masing rumah warga, dan (4) pembuatan poster teknis 3R untuk ditempatkan ditempat-tempat strategis di areal desa.

Abstract

In response to global demands for 21st-century competencies, Indonesia has implemented the Merdeka Curriculum, while many internationalised schools adopt the Cambridge Curriculum. Both aim to foster scientific literacy but differ in philosophical foundations, curriculum structure, and pedagogical design. This study aims to compare the implementation of science education in these two curricula at SD Tunjung Sari, an SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama) school in Bali, to identify their respective strengths and inform future curriculum integration. Employing a qualitative design, data were collected through document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. The study focused on four key components: learning objectives, content, instruction, and assessment, using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum emphasises holistic development and contextual learning through project-based and Science–Technology–Society (STS) approaches. At the same time, the Cambridge Curriculum promotes inquiry-based learning with a structured, internationally benchmarked sequence. Although both curricula align with PISA’s scientific literacy domains, they differ in content scope and delivery. The study recommends a hybrid model that integrates global standards with local values to enhance science education in diverse contexts. This can support policymakers and educators in designing future-ready curricula that are both globally competitive and culturally rooted.
