Abstract

In the current pandemic era, learning process must be counduct online, including for assessment. To support online assessments, it is necessary to use information technology. A good and valid application for online assessment offered in this study is Quizizz. The purpose of this study is todetermine student responseapplication of online exams using the quizizz.The research subjects were students of science education, Universitas Negeri Semarang. The exam is a midterm of astronomy course. The method of research carried out includesthe applied method, responding to quizizz in conductinglearning assessments of multimedia learning. Theresults showed that students were very responsive tothe application of the quiz during the midterms, thoughthe mean score was still low (43.08% with a standard deviation of 15.83%), but students accepted the resultsand try to fix it. For the questionnaire, student responses to the use of Quizizz tend to be positive with the results of 8 statements getting positive responses of more than 50% of the total students.The Quizizz presents the problem with easeby analyzing the results of the detailed answers to help teachersor lecturers in carrying out the assessment.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a global environmental problem that is being faced by the world, especially Indonesia. In addition, Indonesia is ranked 4th in producing plastic straw waste. This problem needs to be taken seriously because the waste generated through plastic straws is difficult to recycle. One effort that can be done is to replace plastic straws with edible straws. Red dragon fruit peel contains nutrients such as carbohydrates, fat, protein, and dietary fiber but is often only thrown away and considered as waste. This study aims to utilize dragon fruit peel as a basic material for making edible straws and to analyze the characteristics of edible straws. The study used quantitative experimental methods by testing temperature resistance and water absorption. The results showed that edible straw has good temperature resistance at a temperature of 10℃-20℃, where at that temperature there is an increase in mass of about 2-3 grams. As for water absorption, a good temperature range is 20℃-80℃ where absorption occurs between 0.38%-7.46%.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai implementasi STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pada pembelajaran IPA di Indonesia telah menjadi bidang yang menarik selama satu dekade. STEM pada pembelajaran IPA dapat diimplementasikan pada berbagai model atau metode pembelajaran dan level pendidikan. Bahkan, variabel penelitian yang mampu ditingkatkan setelah implementasi STEM pada pembelajaran IPA di Indonesia bervariasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi STEM dalam pembelajaran IPA di Indonesia selama tahun 2018 hingga 2023. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi narrative literature review yakni mengumpulkan, mengevaluasi, dan meringkas penelitian-penelitian yang terkait dengan topik penelitian STEM pada pembelajaran IPA. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Implementasi STEM pada pembelajaran IPA di Indonesia paling banyak menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) yakni sebesar 87,5% disusul Problem based Learning (PBL) sebesar 8,3% dan discovery-PJBL sebesar 4,16%, 2) Level pendidikan SMA menjadi level pendidikan yang paling banyak mengimplementasikan STEM pada pembelajaran IPA yakni sebesar 48%, 3) Variabel penelitian yang seringkali ditingkatkan dalam implementasi STEM pada pembelajaran IPA adalah kemampuan berpikir kreatif yakni sebesar 34%.

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman yang semakin berkembang pesat pada abad ke-21 mencirikan adanya revolusi industri 4.0 dimana muncul perubahan secara besar di berbagai sektor kehidupan yang membuka pagar pembatas antara teknologi dan dunia digital yang melebur pada setiap aspek kehidupan. Hadirnya era revolusi industri 4.0 menekan setiap negara secara global untuk mampu beradaptasi dan bersaing sehingga tidak tergerus dengan bandul perubahan yang bergerak secara cepat dan dinamis. Revolusi industri telah menyebabkan disrupsi diberbagai sektor kehidupan, termasuk berdampak besar pada bidang pendidikan. Pada era revolusi industri 4.0 ini, pemecahan masalah dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan dapat disajikan dalam bentuk yang jelas dan menarik dengan bantuan komputer. Salah satu kemampuan yang dapat mendukung hal tersebut adalah Computational Thinking. Pembelajaran ilmu komputer dan pemograman masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, terdapat alternatif solusi untuk mengintegrasikan pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir komputasi. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel literatur ini adalah untuk menganalisis strategi penerapan STEM pada pembelajaran IPA untuk melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking siswa dan untuk menganalisis keefektifan penerapan pembelajaran STEM dalam melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking siswa pada Pembelajaran IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dari jurnal internasional maupun nasional pada database (Google Scholar, Science Direct, Eric, Scopus, dan Springer). Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur didapatkan hasil bahwa STEM efektif diterapkan untuk melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking pada pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sikap kepedulian lingkungan siswa SMP. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Game pencemaran lingkungan dan angket kepedulian lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan menggunakan angket. Hasil penelitian dari lembar angket dengan indikator kepedulian lingkungan menurut General Ecological Behavior Scale, memproleh rata-rata hasil 4,03 pada dimensi energy conservation, 3,56 pada dimensi transportation and mobility, 4,27 pada dimensi waste avoidance, 4,06 pada dimensi consumerism, 3,83 pada dimensi recycling, dan 4,10 pada dimensi vicarious, social behaviors toward conservation. Rata-rata skor kepedulian lingkungan siswa dari 6 dimensi tersebut adalah 3,97 dengan kategori peduli lingkungan yang baik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP memiliki sikap kepedulian lingkungan dengan kriteria baik setelah menggunakan Game pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

The 4Cs are the main skills emphasized to face challenges in the 21st century. One of the skills of the 4Cs is creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are important for students to have to solve problems with creative solutions. In addition to students, teachers as educators are also required to have these skills so that learning becomes more innovative, solution, and meaningful. The purpose of this service is to improve the creative thinking skills of science teachers in designing lessons with the PjBL-STEAM model in science learning and increase the knowledge of science teachers in utilizing Canva digital software that can be used in STEAM-based learning in science learning. The methods used in this service activity are material presentation, practice of designing posters and assembling STEAM products related to energy materials, as well as discussion and question and answer sessions. The results of the study show that PjBL-STEAM learning training assisted by Canva can improve the creative thinking skills of science teachers at Semarang City Junior High School. Participants also gave a positive response to the feasibility of the material and the presentation of the training. This means that the implementation of training to improve creative thinking skills with PjBL-STEAM, assisted by Canva Telang, was carried out very well.

Abstract

Biotechnology is one of the concepts taught in science learning which is complex and dynamic and has a relationship between the application of science and technology. The application of biotechnology is very beneficial in various aspects of life. The importance of applying biotechnology in life encourages schools to provide learning platforms for students to learn about biotechnology processing properly. However there are still issues with biotechnology processing at partner schools. Specifically, they still don't know how to properly create basic biotechnology learning supplements or process biotechnology products. This inspired the UNNES Postgraduate School service team to assist with training in the creation of basic biotechnology goods at the Al-Hidayah Waqaf Foundation in Hatyai, Thailand, as an addition to instructional resources. This training aims to provide training in making simple biotechnology products so that they can improve educators' skills in packaging supplements for simple biotechnology teaching materials as well as identifying the benefits of apple and pineapple vinegar as well as training skills in making apple and pineapple vinegar correctly. The training method was implemented by providing tools and materials, presenting the material, and providing assistance in the practice of making apple and pineapple vinegar biotechnology. The training has been carried out well. The results of the training can help teachers prepare science learning that is contextual and has an entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of STEM knowledge for pre-service science and mathematics teachers in the 21st century. This research aims to analyze the STEM knowledge of pre-service science and mathematics teachers. The research method was carried out by distributing questionnaires with STEM knowledge indicators to the sample. The sample in this research was 86. They were 59 pre-service science teachers and 27 pre-service mathematics teachers, with different years of education, namely the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The results of this research show that the average understanding of pre-service science and mathematics teachers regarding to the STEM-based learning in the definition aspect is 4.11, objectives are 3.94, benefits are 3.94, aspects are 3.69, components are 3.71, characteristics is 3.75, and implementation is 3.86. This proves that pre-service science and mathematics teachers' understanding of the definition of STEM-based learning is very good, while pre-service science and mathematics teachers' understanding of the objectives, benefits, aspects, components, characteristics, and implementation of STEM-based learning is good.
