Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the students’ self-confidence in public speaking at Advanced Speaking Class of English Education Department at Walisongo State Islamic University in the Academic year of 2018/2019. This study deals with Lauster theory, that tells about self-confidence is convincing in the ability and self-assessment of the task and it has an effective approach. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through a questionnaire with 15 questions for 30 students, observation of the students’ performance in public speaking with 10 checklists and interview with 6 students in order to gain the students’ self-confidence. The technique of data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification by using Creswell. The result shows that the students’ confidence level at an advanced speaking class was at the adequate level. From the result of a questionnaire, it shows that the mean score of students’ self-confidence was 3,2 while from the result of observation, it shows that students did several lacks of performances, such as no eye contact, speaking with vibration, making repetition, giving many movements, and also giving many pauses. The influencing factors which lead to students’ self-confidence were such as having a negative mindset, lack of motivation, lack of practice, lack of vocabulary, lack of ability, and lack of preparation.

Abstract

Changes in the new curriculum policy turned out to raise various readiness problems among teachers, teachers are trained to implement the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum in their respective schools. For this reason, this research aims to conduct a literature review of the problems of teachers' readiness in implementing the new curriculum or the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum and find solutions. The method chosen in this research is SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. In this research, 15 articles relevant to the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum and the problems faced by teachers in implementing it for the period 2022-2023 are reviewed with a focus on problems, teacher readiness and new curriculum implementation. The articles used in this study were obtained from Sinta Journal, and Publish or Perish.The results of this study show that firstly, most teachers faced challenges in understanding the concepts and teaching strategies promoted by the new curriculum. This indicates the need for increased training and debriefing of teachers to enable them to play their role as learning facilitators in the spirit of this curriculum. Second, limited facilities and infrastructure, both in terms of funds and teaching materials, are a serious obstacle to the implementation of this curriculum. Therefore, there is a need for further support from the government and related parties to ensure the availability of adequate infrastructure.

Abstract

Penelitian yang membahas cara orang tua mendidik anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual seringkali berkaitan dengan perilaku, emosi, dan prestasi belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki cara orang tua mendidik, alasan di balik perbedaan dalam pola asuh, dan dampaknya terhadap penanaman nilai-nilai moral Islam pada anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual. Studi kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis yang mengandalkan data dari wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Dalam penelitian ini, partisipan terdiri dari tujuh orang tua dan tujuh anak berkebutuhan khusus berusia antara 7 hingga 18 tahun. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa orang tua menerapkan berbagai tipe pola asuh, yakni otoritatif, permisif, otoriter, dan acuh tak acuh, dalam membentuk nilai moral Islam pada anak-anak mereka. Perbedaan dalam pola asuh ini dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang pendidikan dan ekonomi. Variasi dalam pendekatan orang tua dalam menanamkan nilai moral Islam terbukti memengaruhi perilaku keagamaan anak-anak tersebut. Pola asuh otoritatif membantu anak berkembang dan merasa nyaman saat beribadah. Pola asuh permisif membuat anak menjadi bergantung pada orang lain dan mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan perilaku ibadah. Pola asuh otoriter membuat anak sering menunjukkan sikap keras dan kemarahan. Sementara itu, pola asuh acuh tak acuh menghasilkan anak dengan perilaku keagamaan yang rendah. Hasil penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kesadaran orang tua untuk menerapkan pola asuh otoritatif pada anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus agar mereka dapat beribadah seperti anak-anak pada umumnya. Much of the research on parenting patterns in children with learning disabilities is related to behaviour, emotions, and learning outcomes. This study aims to investigate parenting patterns, the factors that trigger differences in parenting patterns, and the implications for instilling Islamic moral values in children with disabilities. This qualitative research with a phenomenological approach relies on in-depth interviews and observation data. The research participants included seven parents and seven children aged 7-18 years old. The results showed that parents instilling Islamic moral values in children with disabilities apply authoritative, permissive, authoritarian, and indifferent parenting patterns. Variations in parenting patterns are triggered by educational and economic factors. Variations in parenting patterns in instilling Islamic moral values have implications for the religious behaviour of children with disabilities. Authoritative parenting makes children more developed and does not make them feel pressured in carrying out worship. Permissive parenting makes children dependent on others and experiences delays in the development of worship behaviour. Authoritarian parenting makes children hard and often angry. Indifferent parenting makes children lack religious behaviour. The results of the research recommend the importance of parental awareness of applying authoritative parenting to children with disabilities so that they are able to practice religion as normal children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh stigma yang ditimbulkan oleh media sosial terhadap konsep diri mahasiswa Generasi Z, yang saat ini menjadi kelompok yang paling terpengaruh oleh perkembangan teknologi dan media sosial. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 32 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa dari berbagai universitas di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang dirancang berdasarkan skala Likert, yang mencakup pertanyaan terkait stigma media sosial, kerentanan individu, serta dukungan sosial yang diterima. Setelah data terkumpul, analisis dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS, dengan fokus pada uji regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stigma media sosial memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap konsep diri mahasiswa, dengan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hanya 40,6% variasi dalam konsep diri dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel-variabel yang diteliti. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya dukungan sosial dalam mengurangi dampak negatif dari stigma, serta perlunya lembaga pendidikan untuk mengimplementasikan program-program yang memberikan pelatihan literasi digital dan kelompok dukungan emotif. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang bagaimana interaksi di media sosial dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental dan identitas diri mahasiswa, serta merekomendasikan penggunaan pendekatan longitudinal dalam penelitian di masa mendatang untuk memahami dinamika perubahan konsep diri seiring berjalannya waktu.

Abstract

This research was conducted to reveal how religious tolerance education in SDN. 04 Purwodadi. The data was taken using a phenomenological approach, namely revealing data on social phenomena collected by in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique used an analysis that was carried out simultaneously with the data collection process in the form of interviews with the Principal and Religious Teachers at SDN.04 Purwodadi. The results of the study found that: (1)Religious tolerance education in SDN. 04 Purwodadi is carried out thoroughly which is contained in the curriculum of the education unit, SOP for School Culture and strengthened in the curriculum of Islamic Religious Education & Budi Pekerti knowledge of religious tolerance material (moral knowing) in grade VI SD/MI (2) Religious tolerance education from the age of children is deemed necessary because it will raise awareness and strong feelings so as to motivate students to take actions of religious tolerance so that they can maintain harmony in the midst of existing community differences. (3) Religious tolerance education in Islamic religious education during the COVID-19 pandemic with the implementation of online learning should not be an obstacle. Religious tolerance education during the pandemic using social media can be an alternative learning. Because in fact, there has been a shift in people's social behavior Through social media, it is easier for people to stay in touch and communicate and interact with each other.

Abstract

Existing scholarly literature on the Gaussian Splatting algorithm has predominantly concentrated on improving the rendering and reconstruction of three-dimensional objects, as well as exploring its applications in various academic disciplines, such as medicine, robotics, and mapping, while being limited to local coordinate systems. This study describes the development of a 3D scene modeled using the Gaussian Splatting algorithm, featuring accurate distance and position geometry based on Three JS. The developed 3D scene was then evaluated with precise position and distance coordinates in the field and compared to the established SfM-MVS (Structure from Motion-Multi View Stereo) algorithm. The findings demonstrate that the proposed development successfully generated Three JS-based 3D scenes with global coordinate compatibility utilizing the Gaussian Splatting algorithm, achieving the same level of position and distance accuracy as the SfM-MVS algorithm, with a 95% confidence interval using T-Test. This research concludes that the developed approach is successful and can be further expanded for various scientific fields that require accurate position and distance information using Gaussian Splatting Algorithm.

Abstract

Technological advances facilitate human activities, especially in social media. The use of social media has an impact on all aspects of human life including education. This article aims to present a systematic literature objective on the duration of social media use and its impact on student learning motivation. The study analyze 11 articles from a variety of different journal sources and were published between 2019 and 2023. These findings highlight that the influence of social media use has a significant impact on the duration of social media use. The length or absence of students accessing social media, this duration affects learning motivation, the higher the intensity of the duration of accessing social media, the lower the student's learning motivation and vice versa, if the intensity of access is low, the learning motivation will be higher. The recommendation presented was to involve lecturers, the University, and parents in an effort to overcome the adverse effects of using social media in the lecture environment. A deep understanding of these challenges is expected to guide the implementation of more effective preventive measures.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman subjektif remaja SMP yang dibesarkan dengan pola asuh otoritatif serta pengaruhnya terhadap keberhasilan akademik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi fenomenologi deskriptif berdasarkann langkah analisis Colaizzi. Partisipan terdiri dari lima remaja SMP dengan prestasi akademik baik (nilai rata-rata 85 dan peringkat tiga besar di kelas) serta berasal dari keluarga dengan pola asuh otoritatif. Partisipan dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam selama 30–45 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga tema utama: (1) dukungan emosional dan pemantauam konsisten dari orang tua, (2) kebebasan belajar yang disertai pengawasan, dan (3) persepsi remaja mengenai keterkaitan pola asuh otoritatif dengan keberhasilan akademik. Dukungan diberikan dalam bentuk motivasi verbal, penyediaan fasilitas belajar seperti les privat, dan sikap orang tua yang tidak menekan namun tetap memantau perkembangan anak. Kebebasan belajar yang diawasi meningkatkan rasa percaya diri, tanggung jawab, dan motivasi intrinsik. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pola asuh otoritatif menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif yang memperkuat kepercayaan diri, membangun disiplin, dan keberhasilan akademik.
