Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of varied and interactive learning methods, such as group discussions, role-playing, and multimedia tools, compared to traditional, lecture-based methods on student learning outcomes in Buddhist and Ethics Education for junior high school students. An experimental design was used with two groups: a control group that followed traditional, lecture-based instruction and an experimental group that applied these varied and interactive methods. The study involved 60 students, evenly divided between the two groups. Research instruments included questionnaires to assess student engagement and motivation, interviews to provide qualitative insights into student experiences, and essay tests to evaluate student learning outcomes. The results indicated that the experimental group achieved a higher average score (85.20) compared to the control group (74.50), with a t-test revealing a significant difference (p 0.01) and a large effect size (Cohen's d = 1.95), indicating a substantial impact of the interactive methods. The study concluded that varied and interactive learning methods demonstrate greater effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes compared to traditional, lecture-based methods. These findings support the use of more dynamic teaching strategies in educational settings, though the study's limitations include a small sample size and lack of longitudinal data. Future research should expand the sample and incorporate long-term analysis to better understand the lasting effects of these methods.

Abstract

Penguatan kerukunan harmonis sebagai proses estetika kehidupan senantiasa mengamalkan estetika kehidupan, barulah seseorang dapat memancarkan sifat kodrati yang mulia, sunya, dan bahagia. Semangat moderasi beragama dapat mengaplikasikan hidup mulia dan nilai-nilai komitmen kebangsaan, toleransi, anti-kekerasan; dan akomodatif terhadap kebudayaan lokal. Internalisasi diri peserta didik dalam moderasi sesuai nilai universal tersebut, dengan latar belakang sekolah berbasis moral etika dunia satu keluarga. penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penguatan kerukunan harmonis melalui moderasi beragama studi kasus pada SMK Maitreya Provinsi Riau. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan metode campuran konvergen atau paralel dengan mengumpulkan data menggabungkan kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara simultan, menggabungkan data, membandingkan hasilnya, dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, data dianalisis dengan model purposive sampling kepada 3 informan pimpinan sekolah dan kuesioner kepada 352 orang peserta didik. Penelitian menunjukkan penguatan kerukunan harmonis melalui program moderasi beragama terintegrasi dengan pembelajaran moral etika, pembelajaran “Kasih” dengan budaya hidup tanpa kekerasan, bervegetarian, mengasihi kehidupan, melindungi, mengasihi kehidupan, dan memuliakan kehidupan. Penguatan pembelajaran kasih, berjiwa kasih, perilaku dan senyuman kasih mewujudkan nilai budaya kasih sekolah Maitreya. Lembaga sekolah Maitreya terintegrasi dengan stakeholder membangun sekolah sebagai satu keluarga, dengan budaya kasih semesta bersama peserta didik membentuk kepribadian luhur dalam kehidupan nyata, mendorong semangat hidup yang dinamis dan positif, membangun wawasan yang benar tentang nilai-nilai hidup harmonis, keindahan hidup yang mengasihi alam semesta, menampilkan pribadi yang indah kodrati sebagai implementasi visi dan misi sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to acknowledge morality and universality learning management model based on dominant factors (naturalist, humanist, and altruist behavior) at SMPS Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. Qualitative research design in case study format, based on purposive sampling of 5 people (principal, curriculum coordinator, religious and moral ethics teacher, committee, and student council). Data analysis with interactive model (Miles and Huberman, 1994), data validity with triangulation validation and member check. The results showed the implementation of learning management in teacher performance and principal supervision obtained average score of 86% which was classified as good, referring to Permendiknas No.19 of 2007. Secondly, the understanding of naturalist, humanist, and altruist-based learning model have not been understood completely as the school’s dynamical policy to lead new academic atmosphere which prioritizes values of Universal Family morality and universality as the impact/outcome of the school. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model manajemen pembelajaran moralitas dan universalitas berbasis faktor dominan (perilaku naturalis, humanis, dan altruis) pada SMPS Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. Desain penelitian kualitatif format studi kasus, berdasarkan purposive sampling sebanyak 5 orang(kepsek, korbid kurikulum, guru agama dan moral etika, komite, dan OSIS. Analisis data dengan interactive model (Miles and Huberman,1994), keabsahan data dengan validasi triangulasi dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama pelaksanaan manajemen pembelajaran dalam penilaian kinerja guru dan supervisi kepala sekolah diperoleh skor rata-rata 86% tergolong baik, merujuk pada Permendiknas No.19 tahun 2007, kedua pemahaman model pembelajaran berbasis naturalis, humanis, dan altruis warga sekolah belum sepenuhnya dipahami secara benar dan konsisten karena pelaksanaan kebijakan sekolah masih dinamis dan aplikatif, sekolah mengarah pada terbentuknya akademik atmosfer baru yang mengutamakan nilai-nilai moralitas dan universalitas Dunia Satu Keluarga sebagai impact / outcome dari Sekolah tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan potensi dan strategi pengembangan Dhammasekha dalam membentuk sumber daya manusia yang sesuai dengan nilai- nilai keagamaan Buddha. Sekolah Dhammasekha sebagai implementasi Peraturan Menteri Agama Nomor 39 Tahun 2014 tentang Pendidikan Keagamaan Buddha. Mulai jenjang Nava Dhammasekha(PAUD) sampai Uttama Dhammasekha(SMA/SMK), dengan desain penelitian gabungan kuantitatif dan kualitatif studi kasus, narasumber responden dari unsur Kemenag, tokoh masyarakat, kepala, guru Nava Dhammasekha,orangtua murid dipilih berdasarkan purposive sampling. Analisis data dengan interactive model (Miles and Huberman,1994), keabsahan data dengan validasi triangulasi dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nava Dhammasekha Kasih Maitreya berpotensi untuk pengemabangan pendidikan keagamaan dengan strategi pengelolaan Sekolah dengan baik, ditemui keterbatasan dari aspek sarana prasarana, guru, dana, dan sumber lainnya, karena sekolah pada dasarnya adalah sebuah pengabdian kepada masyarakat, melayani para pembelajar dan anak bangsa. Dalam pelaksanaan strategis jangka pendek dan panjang dirumuskan dengan baik melalui Visi, misi, tujuan, dan sasaran(VMTS) Dhammasekha, karena Nava Dhammasekha terletak di daerah 3 T, daerah terpencil, dengan transportasi terbatas perlu kerjasama dengan pihak pemerintah setempat untuk pengembangannya

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in cognitive abilities, especially in recognizing the concept of numbers after applying the ETA (Educational Teaching Aid) playing method. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were 18 students in class B2 odd semester at PAUD Cahaya Kasih Bengkayang. Research data on improving cognitive abilities, especially recognizing the concept of numbers, was collected using the observation method. The data that has been collected is analyzed by tabulating the assessment, calculating the percentage of program achievement and comparing it with the achievement indicators for each cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average cognitive ability, especially in recognizing the concept of numbers, in Cahaya Kasih Bengkayang PAUD class B2 children was 16.6%. Then the data results showed that there was an increase in the average cognitive ability, especially in recognizing the concept of numbers in class B2 children at PAUD Cahaya Kasih Bengkayang after implementing the ETA learning method in cycle I by 61.1%, in cycle II it was 83.3%, then in cycle III becomes 100%. The increase in children's cognitive abilities, especially recognizing the concept of numbers, after implementing the ETA learning model was 83.4%. This shows that the application of the ETA method can improve children's cognitive abilities, especially in recognizing the concept of numbers in class B2 odd semester children at Cahaya Kasih PAUD Bengkayang.

Abstract

This study examines the religious meaning of the Chinese New Year (Imlek) tradition among the Chinese community in Pontianak from the perspective of the Siṅgāla Sutta and the Maṅgala Sutta. While Imlek is commonly understood as a cultural tradition, empirical studies that interpret it through canonical Buddhist teachings remain limited. This research aims to analyze how Imlek practices reflect ethical and spiritual values within Buddhist teachings. A qualitative ethnographic approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving community leaders, religious figures, and participants in Imlek celebrations. The findings indicate that, although Imlek is explicitly perceived as a cultural tradition, its practices embody implicit religious values. Social activities such as family gatherings, respect for elders, and communal participation reflect relational ethics consistent with the Siṅgāla Sutta. Meanwhile, practices such as almsgiving, sharing (angpao), and expressions of gratitude demonstrate moral and spiritual values aligned with the Maṅgala Sutta. The study reveals that Imlek can be understood as a form of culturally embedded religious practice, where Buddhist teachings are internalized through social and symbolic expressions rather than formal doctrinal articulation. This research contributes to Buddhist studies by proposing a sutta-based analytical framework to interpret local cultural practices, thereby bridging empirical traditions and canonical teachings in contemporary Buddhayana contexts.
