Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of democratic parenting styles on the independence of early childhood in schools, highlighting the factors that support the development of such independence. The background of this research stems from the importance of independence in early childhood as a foundation for future academic and social success. Democratic parenting, characterized by open communication, children's participation in decision-making, and respect for their needs and feelings, is hypothesized to play a significant role in fostering children's independence. Using a qualitative method with in-depth interviews, the research findings indicate that children raised with democratic parenting are more capable of making their own decisions, showing initiative, and having higher responsibility in school. The discussion of this study emphasizes that in addition to parenting style, factors such as a supportive school environment, active teacher involvement, and collaboration between parents and the school also play an important role in shaping children's independence. The conclusion of this study affirms that the implementation of democratic parenting and a supportive school environment is crucial in developing early childhood independence. Recommendations are given to parents and teachers to strengthen communication and collaboration in supporting children's independence in school, to ensure their readiness in facing future educational challenges.

Abstract

This research focuses on the storytellyng method in improving the social-emotional intelligence of children aged 5-6 years at Citra Mandiri Islamic Kindergarten. The purpose of this study is to find out the social-emotional intelligence of children aged 5-6 years, to find out the benefits of the role-playing method in increasing the social-emotional intelligence of children aged 5-6 years and to find out whether this role-playing method is effective in increasing the social-emotional intelligence of children after 5-6 years at Citra Mandiri Islamic Kindergarten. The method in this study is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques in this study are observation, intervuews and documentation. The results of tus study show that the role-playing method is proven to be effective in increasing the social-emotional intelligence of children aged 5-6 years at Citra Mandiri Islamic Kindergarten. It can be seen that from the 11 children, there are 3 BB children, 3 MB Children, 3 BSH children, and 2 BSB children. Therefore, it can be concluded that the role-playing method is quite effective in increasing the social-emotional intelligence of children aged 5-6 years at Citra Mandiri Islamic Kindergarten with quite satisfactory results

Abstract

Acara pengabdian masyarakat yang diselenggarakan untuk warga berfokus pada pengasuhan orang tua terutama kepada anak usia dini, bahwa pentingnya memberikan kasih sayang yang tepat pada anak agar anak memiliki kecerdasan emosi yang baik sehingga dapat menjadi bekal anak dalam menghadapi permasalahan sehari-hari. Melalui seminar parenting kegiatan ini telah dilaksanakan di Kota Cilegon dengan menggunakan metode survei, persiapan, sosialisasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil seminar pengabdian yang dicapai ialah orang tua menjadi lebih mengerti bahwa dengan memberikan kasih sayang yang tepat melalui pengasuhan akan dapat mengoptimalkan kecerdasan emosi anak serta memahami bahwa kecerdasan emosi dapat dipengaruhi oleh gaya pengasuhan baik ayah ataupun ibu.

Abstract

Kondisi masyarakat yang ada di lingkungan PAUD BKB KEMAS Pancasona cenderung menggunakan pola asuh otoriter terhadap anaknya yang masih berada di usia dini. Sehingga, hal ini menjadi urgensi penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui analisis pola asuh otoriter di PAUD BKB KEMAS Pancasona serta mengetahui pengaruh pola asuh otoriter terhadap sosial emosional anak usia 4-5 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian data yang telah didapat akan diolah dan dibuktikan dengan teori-teori yang berkaitan. Hasil penelitian bahwa pola asuh otoriter di PAUD BKB KEMAS Pancasona memiliki karakteristik, pengasuhan yang ketat dan memaksa, memberikan hukuman fisik, dan melarang anak melakukan sesuatu tanpa memberikan penjelasan. Sementara dalam perkembangan sosial emosional anak dengan pola asuh otoriter di PAUD BKB KEMAS Pancasona Desa Ukirsari menghasilkan perkembangan sosial emosional anak yang bersifat negatif, yaitu anak yang takut untuk mencoba sesuatu yang baru ketika mengenal lingkungan baru, emosinya tidak terkontrol, penakut, pemalu, kurang kreatif, serta menghasilkan perkembangan sosial emosional yang bersifat positif, yaitu anak yang disiplin, bertanggung jawab dan percaya diri.
