Abstract

This research aims to analyze the mechanism of zakat collection through offline and online service systems so that the potential of zakat can be achieved. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the number of Muslims in Pontianak City in 2019 was around 509,437 and increased to 511,431 people in 2020. The National Amil Zakat Agency stated that the potential for zakat in Pontianak City reached 200 billion per year, however, the realization of current zakat revenue is still far from that figure. This descriptive qualitative research with a literature review method, uses primary and secondary data. The analysis shows that both offline and online service systems are equally effective and significant in increasing zakat revenue at BAZNAS Pontianak City. However, compared to the offline system, zakat revenue in BAZNAS Pontianak City is higher after the implementation of the online zakat collection system.

Abstract

This study addresses the changing consumption patterns of university students driven by electronic money usage, materialistic values, and social media exposure, with the objective of examining how these factors influence student consumption behavior among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Tanjungpura University. Using a descriptive causal quantitative approach, data were collected through an online survey of 100 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by AMOS. The research findings reveal that electronic money usage has no significant effect on consumption behavior. In contrast, materialism, social media intensity, and attitudes toward social media content had a significant beneficial effect on student consumption behavior. These results emphasize the importance of money management skill and financial inclusion strategies in shaping healthy consumption patterns and supporting sustainable development.

Abstract

The amount that households spend on consumption determines a region's economic growth rate. This study examines the connection between household consumption spending and economic expansion in West Kalimantan's districts and cities. Panel data regression is the analytical technique used to consider regional variances. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and other relevant organizations were among the data sources used in this study. The dependent variable is economic growth, and the independent variable is household consumption spending. The analysis's findings demonstrate that household consumption spending and economic growth in West Kalimantan Province's districts and cities are positively and significantly correlated. This clarifies why raising household consumption expenditures has advantages.

Abstract

This research examines the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis in G20 countries over 58 years, focusing on CO2 emissions. Using the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model with Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS), the analysis accounts for heteroscedasticity in the observations. The findings reveal that industrial value-added per capita increases long-term emissions, whereas agricultural value-added per capita helps reduce emissions due to its environmentally friendly nature. Energy consumption significantly contributes to emissions, while urbanization exacerbates emissions in developing countries but tends to mitigate them in developed nations. A key insight is that GDP per capita in developing countries negatively impacts CO2 emissions in both the short and long term. In contrast, developed countries initially experienced rising emissions during industrialization but later reduced them by shifting to a service-based economy. It refers to the term "Dual-Path Emission Development", suggesting that developing countries do not necessarily have to follow the traditional EKC pattern of rising emissions before achieving reductions. This highlights the need for differentiated policies between developed and developing nations in addressing CO2 emissions.JEL: Q50, C22.
