Abstract

This research aims to analyze the mechanism of zakat collection through offline and online service systems so that the potential of zakat can be achieved. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the number of Muslims in Pontianak City in 2019 was around 509,437 and increased to 511,431 people in 2020. The National Amil Zakat Agency stated that the potential for zakat in Pontianak City reached 200 billion per year, however, the realization of current zakat revenue is still far from that figure. This descriptive qualitative research with a literature review method, uses primary and secondary data. The analysis shows that both offline and online service systems are equally effective and significant in increasing zakat revenue at BAZNAS Pontianak City. However, compared to the offline system, zakat revenue in BAZNAS Pontianak City is higher after the implementation of the online zakat collection system.

Abstract

Abstract

Rural poverty remains an urgent challenge in many parts of Indonesia, including West Kalimantan. Despite ongoing poverty reduction efforts, a persistent gap remains between urban and rural areas. This study examines the dynamics of rural poverty in West Kalimantan using panel data analysis. By analyzing longitudinal data over time, we assess the factors associated with rural poverty and identify key trends and patterns. The panel-data approach accounts for both individual and time effects, allowing a more comprehensive understanding of poverty dynamics in the region. The results indicate that, in partial estimations, education level and GDP are negatively associated with poverty. The findings also show that education, open unemployment, and GDP jointly have a statistically significant effect on rural poverty rates. These results suggest that improving education quality, expanding employment opportunities, and strengthening household economic well-being are strategic priorities for reducing rural poverty.

Abstract

Pisak Village, as one of the villages on the Indonesia-Malaysia border, has great potential as a vegetable producer for domestic and cross-border markets. Vegetable farmers in Pisak Village face real problems in the form of high dependence on middlemen in marketing their crops, resulting in a weak position for farmers and unprofitable selling prices. Furthermore, uncontrolled price pressures, limited access to cross-border markets in Malaysia, a lack of farmer economic institutions, and poor post-harvest infrastructure make it difficult for farmers to maintain stable, sustainable incomes. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve farmers' bargaining position by conducting outreach training on product processing and courage-based promotion. Through product processing, farmers are expected to increase the added value of their agricultural products, while courageous promotion is expected to open wider market access. Implemented through an interactive socialization and discussion approach, this PkM activity not only focuses on improving farmers' technical skills but also on strengthening market access and economic institutions, thereby creating independence and economic sustainability for the Pisak Village community in the border region.
