Abstract

Purpose: This program aims to increase the self-confidence of students majoring in nursing assistants at SMK NU Miftakhul Huda in communicating in English and providing good and quality care services as their target situation as caregivers in a global setting. Methodology/approach: This program was implemented at SMK NU Miftakhul Huda in the Kepanjen District of Malang Regency, East Java. The partners were 14 class XII students. The method was divided into three sessions: brainstorming, discussion, lectures, case studies, and practice approaches. The tools used for measurement were questionnaires and English practice observation sheets. Results/findings: There was a change in English language skills and knowledge about self-branding (0.000), and practice skills of basic English in health (75.72 ± 12.65), which had a very good meaning. Conclusion: he training program successfully improved students’ English communication skills and self-branding competence, which are essential for preparing them as caregivers in a global setting. The results demonstrate significant progress in knowledge, confidence, and practical abilities, indicating that continuous training and support will strengthen their readiness to compete in the international workforce in the future. Limitation: Partner's motivation and interest in speaking English, the need for familiarization, and repetition of English language competence. Contribution: This program has an impact on the school as a vocational school by improving students’ English competence as a working language in a global setting and self-branding for preparation for work as a form of self-promotion and self-confidence.

Abstract

Stigma and movement disorders due to drugs in people with mental disorders create problems in the community. Efforts that can be made to prevent through preventive efforts are empowerment in the community. Peer groups are a form of empowerment between peer groups. The aim of this program is to train youth groups in helping ODGJ reduce movement disorders caused by mental disorders drugs. The method used is through FGD and measuring partners' knowledge and dancing skills. The program will be implemented in June 2023. The stages include pre-program, module prescription testing, program socialization, traditional dance peer group training, and evaluation and follow-up plans. The pre-program results agreed regarding advocacy activities for people with mental disorders, the results of the perception equality test (ICC: 0.945), the knowledge value of (p= 0.000), the value of traditional dance peer group skills (mean 75), and the results of the FGD with partners making innovation program in mental health posyandu. The conclusion is that traditional dance peer group training in preventing movement disorders for ODGJ can be used as health promotion in mentally healthy posyandu.

Abstract

Background. Reducing blood pressure in the elderly can be achieved through the utilization of alternative treatments, one of which is papaya juice. Hypertension in the elderly is highly perilous and can lead to fatal consequences. This research aimed to investigate the efficacy of papaya juice consumption in lowering blood pressure among the elderly population. Research Method. This research employed a Quasi-Experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population studied consisted of all hypertensive patients at the Mojolangu Community Health Center. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique, with a total of 30 respondents – 15 assigned to the control group and 15 to the intervention group. Data collection utilized measurement tools including a Sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Findings. "The results of the study using the Wilcoxon test revealed that the systolic blood pressure had a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), and for diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group, a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) was obtained. This indicates that papaya juice is effective in assisting with blood pressure reduction. Further assessment of the difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure reduction was conducted through the Mann-Whitney test, yielding a p-value of 0.049, indicating a significant difference. Conclusion.  Papaya mengkal juice is highly effective and can be considered a viable alternative non-pharmacological therapy option to aid in lowering blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension.

Abstract

Generation Z faces increasing mental health challenges, often worsened by bullying and cyberbullying. Digital-based interventions need to be both engaging and understandable for this demographic. This study aimed to evaluate the content validity and readability of the Waek AI-based game application designed for bullying prevention and mental health promotion among Generation Z youth. A descriptive quantitative design was employed with six expert validators, consisting of three psychiatric nursing lecturers and three IT professionals. Data were collected using structured validation sheets and analyzed using the Aiken’s V coefficient for content validity and the Indonesian Digital Readability Index (IDRI) for readability.The application achieved an Aiken’s V score of 0.947, indicating excellent content validity, and an IDRI score categorized as moderate-to-easy (71–80), demonstrating high readability. The Waek AI-based game application possesses strong content validity and readability, supporting its feasibility as a digital tool for bullying prevention and mental health promotion among Generation Z.
