Abstract

Background : Human activities in using of nature always leaving the rest that are consideredare not useful anymore, so treated as waste products, namely garbage and waste. If the wasteis not managed properly, it will negatively impact health. Therefore there is need for theprevention of negative influences to avoid or use personal protective. The purpose of thisresearch is to know knowledge about the types of garbage collectors , the knowledge workers ofthe garbage collector garbage congenital diseases, and the behavior of garbage collectionworkers in protecting themselves against inherited diseases.Methods: This kind of research is the research evaluation, which includes the formativeevaluation (emphasis on process rather than product). While the research approach used isqualitative. Research subjects in this study are to garbage collectors officers Dumpster (TPS)which use pushcart. Data collection techniques will be used is the observation by participating(participation observation), and in-depth interviews (in-depth Interviewing). Techniques of dataanalysis performed using data reduction, data display the data verification.Conclusion : The conclusions to be drawn from this study are: First, knowledge about the typesof garbage collectors personal protection device which must be worn during most of the work isstill lacking. Second, the knowledge workers of the garbage collector garbage congenitaldiseases mostly still less understood. Third, the behavior of garbage collection workers inprotecting themselves against inherited diseases is less trash to the efforts carried out beforetouching the garbage, and is good for the efforts undertaken after touching garbage. All of themare supported by the lack or ignorance of understanding about self health (Hygiene Sanitation).Keywords: Behavior, personal protection device, congenital disease trash

Abstract

Health Promotion in Clean and Healthy behavior program is a behavior that can be affected by attitudes, subjective norms, intentions and behaviors. The purpose of this study is to application attitude, subjective norms, intentions, and behavior clean and healthy by using Theory of Reasoned Action. This research type was an analytical observational study with cross-sectional. Research location was in Imogiri traditional market in Bantul Yogyakarta Indonesia. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. Data collection techniques were questionnaire and observation sheet. Data analysis used Amos 24. Attitudes affected the intention; Attitude effect on Behavioral Beliefs; Subjective norms affect Outcome Evaluations; The intention affected the intention of disposing of; The intention affected the intention of utilizing latrines; The intention affected the intention of not smoking in the market; intention affected the intention to wash hands with soap; Clean and healthy life behavior has an effect on non-smoking behavior in the market; Clean and healthy life behavior has an effect on hand washing behavior with soap.

Abstract

Previous research found that 4.17% of children under five who experienced poor nutritional status based on body weight in Klepu Village, Krangan District, Tumangung Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the nutritional status of children under five in Klepu Village, Kranggan District, Temanggung Regency. This observational survey research used a cross sectional study approach. The population consisted of 72 children under five, all of them were research subjects. The data was processed using the chi square test. It was concluded that the factors related to nutritional status were infectious conditions, history of exclusive breastfeeding, history of complementary feeding and income level of parents. Meanwhile, factors that are not related to nutritional status are maternal nutritional knowledge, energy nutrition level and protein consumption level.

Abstract

This study discusses the internal factors of non-communicable disease integrated counseling unit (NCD Posbindu) implementation with community participation in NCD Posbindu village districts Wirobrajan, Yogyakarta. The design of this study was a cross-sectional study with a population of 58 people. Sampling using purposive sampling technique obtained 46 people. Bivariate data analysis uses the Kendall Tau test. The study notes a relation of knowledge to community participation with the results of significant value P-value of 0.002 0.05. The Perceptions related to community participation get a significant P-value of 0.001 0.05. The motivation was related to community participation with a significant P-value of 0.000 0.05. Multivariate data analysis uses simple linear regression. The study notes that from 46 samples, F value F table (10.599 = 2.83).  There is the influence of knowledge, perception, and motivation towards the NCD Posbindu implementation by community participation. The independent variables where the dominant influence is motivated by the largest value of Standardized Beta Coefficient is equal to 0.362.

Abstract

An Occupational Disease was a disease caused by work or work environment. One of the efficient and effective strategies for controlling Occupational Disease was the empowerment and participation of the community called Occupational Health Unit (Pos UKK) in the workplace. Based on the data of market health inspection in Pos UKK Imogiri market  in March 2017, there were only 67 participants (19.17%) from 365 invited people.: The purpose of this research was to know the internal factors with the community participation in Pos UKK Imogiri market Bantul. This research was a quantitative analytic research with cross sectional design. The population was 365 people and the sample was 150 respondents. The sampling used purposive sampling technique. Kendall Tau test showed that there was a relation between perception and community participation (p value <0.05, r  = 0.677); Intentions related to community participation (p value <0.05 r = 0.486); Attitudes related to community participation (p value <0.05 , r= 0.802). F test result showed that the variables of Perception, Intentions and Attitudes related simultaneously to community participation (F value = 387.41> F table = 2.67). The dominant independent variable was Attitudes with the highest Standard Beta Coefficient value was 0.776.  Perceptions, Intentions and Attitudes related both partially and simultaneously to community participation; the independent variable that had dominant influence was Attitudes.

Abstract

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the relationship between ability to carry out activities of daily living (ADL) independently and functional ability, mental status, exercise habits, and other factors, among elderly people with osteoarthritis (OA) at Pleret Bantul, Indonesia. Measures included Katz Index of Independence in ADL, Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), and the Short portable mental status questionnaire (SPMSQ). Chi-square analyses odds ratios (OR) were calculated. The study results showed that the ADL independence among the sample was associated with younger age OR=.347; 95% CI =.253-.477), exercise habit OR=7.07; 95% CI=2.86-17.47) and functional ability (OR=2.34; 95% CI=1.82-3.01). There was no relationship between living situation or mental status and ADL. These findings can be used as information to design programs to support independence in ADLs among elderly persons with OA in Indonesia.

Abstract

The lack of evidence regarding two or more health education media designed together to help increase knowledge and change adolescent attitudes in decision-making to stop smoking. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of video media and leaflets in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents about the dangers of smoking. This research was a pre-experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. The population of the study was male adolescents at SMP 2 Pandak Bantul as many as 233 people with a sample of 70 people were calculated using the slovin formula. Technique sampling used purposive sampling method. Data analysis in this study used the paired sample t test. The results showed that there were differences between knowledge about the dangers of smoking in adolescents before and after being given video and leaflet media intervention with a significance value (p-value) = 0.002 0.05; there was a difference between attitudes about the dangers of smoking in adolescents before and after being given the intervention of video media and leaflets with a significance value (p-value) = 0.001, 0.05. The conclusion of this study was both video media and leaflets were effective in increasing adolescent’s knowledge and attitudes about smoking.
