Abstract

Pisang (Musa sp.) merupakan komoditas buah yang rasanya enak, kaya akan kandungan gizi, dan harganya yang relatif terjangkau, tetapi pisang cepat mengalami pembusukan. Pada penelitian ini digunakanlah silika sebagai bahan yang dapat memperpanjang masa simpan buah pisang. Silika merupakan bahan yang memenuhi standar keamanan pangan dan juga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan tambahan pangan, dan silika tentunya tidak memiliki sifat toksik. Metode pelapisan silika pada pisang yang dikembangkan yaitu silika  dicampur dengan akuades dan dilapiskan pada pisang yang telah dibersihkan. Berdasarkan parameter yaitu indeks skala warna kulit, rasio daging terhadap berat buah, kekerasan buah pisang, dan asam tertitrasi total (ATT), diketahui bahwa pisang dengan pelapisan silika menunjukkan nilai yang lebih rendah pada setiap pengujian dibandingkan kontrol. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pisang dengan silika memiliki tingkat kematangan yang lebih rendah daripada pisang kontrol, dan silika dapat menjadi alternatif yang menarik untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengawetan buah pisang segar untuk penyimpanan yang lebih lama.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic is a global problem that affects various sectors of life and the Republic of Indonesia's Government has implemented a New Habit Adaptation program. Penyak Village is one of the villages in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, where most people work as fishermen and farmers. It causes the majority of the community to work from outside the home. One of the activity programs of Universitas Bangka Belitung in response to COVID-19 is the implementation of KKN-Thematic to focus on efforts to prevent COVID-19. For Penyak Village, the KKN-Thematic program is carried out in several stages such as (i) preparation, (ii) preparing equipment to be given to the community, (iii) making video tutorials for making hand-sanitizers and masks, (iv) distributing health protocol equipment and counseling, and (v) evaluation. From the results, most community and village officials respond well to the activities that have been carried out.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang umumnya dihadapi para pelaku industri tekstil yaitu berkaitan dengan banyaknya jumlah limbah cair yang dihasilkan. Limbah cair pewarna metilen biru tidak dapat dibuang secara langsung ke perairan karena memiliki tingkat kelarutan yang tinggi dan bersifat non-biodegradable. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengolahan limbah cair pewarna metilen biru dengan menggunakan metode elektrokoagulasi yang mudah diterapkan dengan tingkat efisiensi pemisahan kadar polutan dalam air limbah yang tinggi. Tahapan selanjutnya dilakukan dekolorisasi pada limbah pewarna metilen biru dengan variasi tegangan yang diberikan sebesar 20,25, dan 30 volt serta variasi waktu yang digunakan selama 1,3,5,10,15,20,25, dan 30 menit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar tegangan listrik dan semakin lama proses elektrokoagulasi dilakukan maka semakin tinggi pula nilai dekolorisasi yang dihasilkan limbah pewarna metilen biru tersebut. Hasil dekoloriasasi yang diperoleh kemudian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan analisis laju reaksi yang menunjukkan perubahan konsentrasi metilen biru yang berbanding lurus dengan waktu yang diberikan. Analisis laju reaksi dilakukan dengan menggunakan model kinetika reaksi yaitu orde satu, orde dua, dan BMG. Berdasarkan nilai yang dihasilkan dari ketiga model kinetika reaksi, model kinetika BMG merupakan model kinetika reaksi yang terbaik dikarenakan memiliki nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 0,999.

Abstract

Wound dressings act as wound protectors as well as drug delivery for wound healing. This article develops a PVA/alginate-based wound dressing material added with pepper extract to obtain its antibacterial properties. The sample preparation process consisted of several stages: the preparation of pepper extract by maceration method with ethanol solvent, preparation of PVA/Alginate hydrogel and addition of pepper extract, and testing. Antibacterial test using the paper disc method with the pathogen Staphyloccocus aureus showed that the extract had powerful antibacterial properties with an inhibition zone of about 22 m. Based on the FTIR analysis, it is known that the FTIR transmittance pattern of the PVA/alginate composite added with pepper is related to its constituent functional groups. The highest degree of swelling of the hydrogels prepared in this study was 188%.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has spread to all countries has changed various human activities in the world. The new habitual adaptation policy is a policy taken by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while still paying attention to the economic sector. Penyak Village is located in Koba District, Central Bangka Regency. As a village located adjacent to the sea, many residents in this village work as fishermen. Therefore, the new habit adaptation policy was welcomed by the community. To increase public understanding, the community service team provides education regarding the adaptation of new habits. The educational program is carried out through direct socialization and media such as posters and pocketbooks. Also, the educational program was followed by several activities such as spraying disinfectants, making handwashing facilities, blood donation, providing necessities to the community, and submitting educational media at the Penyak Village. Based on the evaluation using a questionnaire, more than 50% of the public stated that the educational media provided was of excellent quality and was influential in increasing understanding regarding the adaptation of new habits

Abstract

This article aims to synthesize CuO nanoparticles using the green synthesis method using Citrus x microcarpa Bunge peel extract, analyze their characteristics, and evaluate their antibacterial activity against the S. aureus. We investigated the role of the accelerator agent NaOH in the green synthesis of CuO nanoparticles. The presence of green synthesized CuO nanoparticles was confirmed by UV-Vis spectrophotometer and XRD. The use of NaOH in the green synthesis of nanoparticles accelerates the emergence of absorbance peaks around 400 nm, related to CuO's surface plasmon frequency. Calculation of crystallite size based on XRD diffractogram shows that NaOH can also act as a reducing agent. The smaller size of CuO nanoparticles will increase their stability when heated. In addition, green synthesized CuO nanoparticles showed high antimicrobial activity against S. aureus pathogens. These results indicate that CuO nanoparticles with antibacterial activity can be synthesized using an environmentally friendly and simple method.

Abstract

During the production of batik cual, thick-colored wastewater is produced. Unfortunately, the wastewater could damage the environment if it is disposed of without specific processing. The Fenton method is an advanced oxidation process (AOPs) that can degrade organic dyes found in liquid waste. In this research, the researchers studied the Fenton mechanism's application to the batik cual wastewater treatment. The Fenton's reagent used was H2O2 with FeSO4.7H2O. Some of the experimental wastewater treatment parameters were the values of biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), the degradation efficiency of difficult to decompose organic materials, and the color degradation efficiency in batik cual wastewater. The results show that the Fenton mechanism’s efficiency of removing color from batik cual wastewater is up to 97.8%, COD and BOD removal efficiencies are 76.3% and 75.2%, and the degradation efficiency of difficult to decompose organic matter is 76.8%. Also, the researchers found that the higher amounts of FeSO4.7H2O increase the removal parameters effectiveness. Therefore, the Fenton mechanism can effectively improve the quality of wastewater in batik cual production.

Abstract

Hukum Gauss merupakan salah satu hukum fundamental fisika, khususnya dalam kajian listrik. Salah satu variabel penting untuk dapat menggunakan hukum Gauss adalah kemampuan menentukan muatan yang terlingkupi permukaan Gauss. Umumnya, definisi distribusi muatan suatu objek didefinisikan oleh fungsi sepenggal (piecewise continuous function). Pada makalah ini diajukan suatu model distribusi muatan yang berlaku untuk di seluruh lokasi. Model tersebut disusun berdasarkan analogi dengan fungsi distribusi Fermi-Dirac. Model yang diajukan mengandung fungsi eksponensial yang terkait dengan radius benda dan dilengkapi dengan suatu parameter untuk menghindari munculnya lekukan kurva yang bersifat tidak fisis. Distribusi muatan tersebut dapat digunakan untuk simulasi menghitung muatan yang terlingkupi oleh permukaan Gauss dan menentukan medan listriknya. Beberapa kasus yang ditinjau adalah objek bola padat serta bola konsentris. Jika dibandingkan dengan distribusi muatan konvensional, distribusi muatan termodifikasi lebih sederhana dan dapat mereduksi algoritma proses komputasi. Oleh karena itu hal ini dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis komputer yang ringkas dan sederhana.
