Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of service quality and physical facilities on student statisfaction in educational institutions LP3I College Purwakarta. The research method used is a survey method with descriptive reserach type. This is research was conducted in the city of purwakarta, this study uses primary data, by distributing questionnaries directly to the parties related to the reserach used. Sampling technique in research using Accidental Sampling method with number of samples as much as 100 respondents. The dependent variabel is student statisfaction, while the independent variabel is the quality of service and physical facilities. By using individual analysis, the result of the study conculaded that the quality of services and facilities had a positive and significant effect on student statisfaction. Based on the results of the F test. The reaults of this study indicate the quality of services and physical facilities have a positve and significant effect on student satisfaction.  Keywords : Service, facilities, student

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini mengulas mengenai masalah yang dihadapi oleh UMKM di Kabupaten Kuningan. Tujuan dilaksanakannya pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu UMKM dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dalam menjual sehingga meningkatkan minat pembeli, khususnya calon pembeli yang berbahasa Inggris. UMKM ini memproduksi berbagai produk khas daerah yang merupakan buatan tangan dan peralatan manual. Banyak faktor yang menjadi permasalahan dalam meningkatkan UMKM di masyarakat salah satunya yaitu cara memikat perhatian dan keinginan produsen terhadap UMKM, salah satunya yaitu Bahasa Inggris dalam bercakap-cakap dengan calon pembeli yang berbahasa asing begitu juga dalam promosi produk. Berdasarkan permasalahan diatas, bahwa Bahasa Inggris sangat penting bagi perkembangan dan peningkatan UMKM bagi masyarakat sehingga diperlukan suatu bekal bagi masyarakat untuk dapat meningkatkan kualitas UMKM melalui kemampuan dalam menjual dalam Bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan untuk penyampaian materi yaitu metode ceramah dan metode praktik.

Abstract

This study explores how immersive language use and cultural exposure can enhance English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning among Indonesian university students. It aims to identify the communicative benefits of participating in an interactive visit to @america, an American cultural center in Jakarta, and to examine how visual ethnography supports students’ reflections on intercultural learning. On December 3, 2024, one hundred EFL students attended the Empire Wild Jazz Music Festival at @america, engaging in authentic listening, speaking, and intercultural interaction under a Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) framework. Photographs and personal reflections served as primary data for the visual ethnographic analysis. The findings indicate that this informal, immersive environment increased students’ motivation, fostered fluency development, and deepened cultural awareness. The visual documentation process also encouraged students to critically reflect on their learning and cultural experiences. This study demonstrates that integrating experiential activities and visual reflection into EFL curricula can help educators bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-life communication, ultimately enhancing students’ engagement and intercultural competence.

Abstract

English Training for Tour Guides is a strategic effort to increase the capacity of local human resources and the competitiveness of the tourism sector in Desa Warnasari, Kecamatan Pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung, West Java. Desa Warnasari has attractive natural tourism potential, but still faces challenges in reaching foreign tourists due to limited communication skills in foreign languages, especially English. This training activity aims to equip residents and youth organizations who become local tour guides with basic English skills relevant to the world of tourism, such as introducing tourist attractions, explaining travel routes, answering visitors' questions, and conveying local cultural and historical information. The training methods used include interactive lectures, hands-on practice (role play), and questions and answers. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in the confidence and communication skills of participants in English. With this training, it is hoped that tour guides can provide more professional services to foreign tourists, as well as encourage an increase in the number of visits and tourist satisfaction, which will ultimately strengthen the position of Desa Warnasari as a leading tourist destination in the Pangalengan area.

Abstract

Students as agent of change play a crucial role in contribuiting to the nation’s progress. Recognizing this responsibility, students must develop their skills and abilities not only through lectures and academic activities but also through various campus activities. This research aims to explore the relationship between extracurricular activities and academic performance among college students at STIKes RS Husada. This quantitative study involved 48 students participating in extracurricular activities. Results indicated that students' academic performance is in the medium category, with the mean value reflecting a reasonably adequate level of achievement. Chi-square test analysis showed that the variable X data follows a normal distribution, providing a strong basis for further statistical analysis. Additionally, the homogeneity of variance test confirmed that data for variables X and Y are homogeneous at the 1% significance level, supporting the reliability of the statistical analysis for both variables. Increasing extracurricular activities is seen as an effective strategy to enhance academic performance, with a positive correlation observed between extracurricular involvement and student achievement

Abstract

This research aims to study polysemy in Kompas.com News Headlines (economic section) in Indonesia. The researcher tries to find the form of polysemy or the words contain polysemy in news headline. Classified it into several classification such as verbs, nouns, adverbs, and adjectives also regular or irregular form of polysemy and after that, the researcher tries to interpret the meaning of each polysemic words in the News Headlines. This research used descriptive method which is part of qualitative research to analyze the data. According to Azwar (1997: 6), in a descriptive method, the researcher analyzes and presents the fact systematically therefore it can be understood and concluded easily. There are 29 polysemic words found in Kompas.com News Headlines (economic section) with different forms and meanings.
