Abstract

Research on the employee perspective of talent management is scarce. The focus of this literature review is to specifically consider the employee in talent management. The purpose of this literature review is threefold. First, this literature review presents a review of the existing talent management literature broadly, in order to present a synthesis of what is known and what is not known. Second, this literature review then sharpens the focus of the review to present a review of the literature which specifically acknowledges the employee perspectives within talent management. Third, this literature review presents a future direction regarding employee perspective within talent management. This literature review used the systematic approach to the review. The final sample of 208 scholarly papers for review which includes empirical papers among the other conceptual work, reviews and book chapters of which only 24 considered the employee perspective. This literature review has identified that, while the literature has recently acknowledged the employee as a central participant and central actor in organizational strategic talent management, both conceptual and empirical work in this stream is as yet highly limited and requires substantial further conceptual and empirical development.

Abstract

role of job stress as a variable that mediates the effect of workload and work environment on employee performance. This study applies various theories, namely the theory of Job Demand Resources (JDR), and Conservation of Resources (COR) to explain the relationship between variables. As a literature study article, this article contributes to developing a conceptual framework on how to combine two different perspectives of Job Demand Resources (JDR), and Conservation of Resources (COR). This article is important for management and further research considering that not many previous studies have used this theoretical framework to test a similar research model. This study has limitations in obtaining research that examines workload, work environment in research with employee performance. However, this research brings out a new framework that illustrates the contribution of job stress to employee performance through workload and work environment.

Abstract

In a dynamic and competitive business landscape, understanding the pivotal factors influencing innovation performance is essential for small culinary businesses aiming to maintain a competitive edge. This study investigates how leadership agility and entrepreneurial orientation promote innovation ambidexterity and competitive advantage, focusing on their direct and indirect effects, particularly among small culinary enterprises. This explanatory research employs a quantitative approach. The population comprises all small culinary businesses in Madiun City, totaling 90 businesses. Using a census sampling technique, the entire population was surveyed. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results indicate that leadership agility and entrepreneurial orientation significantly enhance innovation ambidexterity. Likewise, leadership agility and entrepreneurial orientation significantly impact competitive advantage. Notably, innovation ambidexterity significantly mediates the relationship between antecedent factors and competitive advantage, underscoring its role as a crucial mechanism in this dynamic. The study's novelty lies in exploring these relationships within the under-researched context of small culinary businesses, offering fresh insights into how these enterprises can leverage internal capabilities for greater market competitiveness. These insights are valuable for business owners, policymakers, and stakeholders in designing strategies and policies to support the development and competitiveness of small businesses.

Abstract

Research on innovative work behaviour in the hospitality industry and understanding cross-cultural issues is becoming increasingly essential. This study aims to comprehensively map factors that directly, indirectly, mediate, and moderate innovative work behaviour. Also, it reinforces the concept of cultural influences on innovative work behaviour in the hospitality sector. A systematic literature review with a Scopus and Web of Science database is utilised to furnish a comprehensive overview of research in reputable journals. The paper selection process was conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). By analysing 108 articles, this review corroborates the notion that cultural factors influence innovative work behaviour in hospitality. It recommends that tourism companies foster innovative work behaviour to reap benefits such as enhanced competitive advantage and reduced turnover intention. However, companies must consider the synergy between national culture and organisational culture.
