Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain information regarding data security and privacy of users of digital health applications, Halodoc and Alodokter, based on legal regulations in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method through sources such as literature reviews, journals, scientific works and other media, as well as a quantitative method through calculating the level of conformity of regulations on applications with applicable laws and regulations. The results obtained in both applications are that data security and user privacy are met by seven out of ten indicators, and both make their best efforts to protect and secure their users' personal data, however there is no guarantee that the platform will be safe and reliable.

Abstract

Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has received a lot of attention in today's digital culture, especially among students. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of LinkedIn usage on the level of FOMO among students at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS). Using an integrated methodology, the data was collected through surveys by questionnaire to understand the relationship between LinkedIn usage and FOMO. The information was gathered through incidental sampling from a total of 100 respondents, ranging from 2018+ students to 2023 students.According to the results, more than half of the respondents experience FOMO when seeing other people's LinkedIn profiles. Based on the results, it shows that students feel more motivated to do something more productive because of their FOMO. These results are expected to assist practitioners, educators, and academics interested in FOMO and the use of social platforms in higher education to gain a better understanding of how the LinkedIn platform affects the amount of FOMO among ITS students.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the effect of using the QRIS payment method on purchasing decisions in terms of three perceptions, namely the perceived effectiveness, convenience, and security of the QRIS payment method. This research uses a casual study methodology, which is a type of research to identify cause-and-effect correlations between two or more variables. In this study, data was collected randomly through questionnaires distributed via whatsapp social media to ITS students. Then, the data from the questionnaire was analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that together (simultaneously), the perceived effectiveness, convenience, and security of the QRIS payment method have a significant influence on purchasing decisions for students at the ITS Central Canteen. However, when viewed individually (partially) it is found that only the perception of convenience has a significant effect on purchasing decisions, while perceived effectiveness and perceived security do not have a significant effect on purchasing decisions for students at the ITS Central Canteen.

Abstract

In the digital era, universities play an important role in developing policies and technology to ensure students' academic integrity. This research aims to explore and analyze holistically the contribution and effectiveness of universities in maintaining academic integrity in the digital era. The research method used is a literature review with a semi-systematic review approach, which is then expanded with bibliometric analysis using the VOSViewer tool. Of the 115 papers identified in the bibliometric analysis with the keyword “college plagiarism”, it was found that the term “plagiarism” was often associated with “student”, “college”, “academic”, and “plagiarism”. Key relevant terms include “training”, “locus of control”, “rabin-karp”, “text mining”, “hash”, “levenshtein distance algorithm”, “similarity”, and “publication”. Universities should conduct training and strengthen students' locus of control to instill integrity values. The concept of “similarity” in plagiarism detection helps maintain the originality of academic work, while “rabin-karp” and “text mining” technologies are used to recognize plagiarized text and find suspicious patterns. The “hash” concept and “Levenshtein distance algorithm” are important in maintaining academic integrity, and “publication” ensures research meets academic integrity standards. Universities leaders are responsible for preventing plagiarism by implementing code of ethics and promoting awareness and understanding within the entire academic community.

Abstract

Technology in this modern era has an important role in the running of a business activity. One of the applications of technology that we often find is the use of advertisements with brand ambassadors to increase consumer interest in buying products. Tokopedia is one of the leading e-commerce companies in Indonesia that implements promotional strategies with advertisements using brand ambassadors to increase consumer buying interest on their platform. Blackpink, one of the biggest names in Korea, was appointed by Tokopedia to be one of their brand ambassadors in 2021. When these brand ambassadors succeed in attracting the attention of consumers, it will indirectly increase consumer buying interest. Therefore, the researcher intends to find the significance between Blackpink's role as a brand ambassador in Tokopedia advertisements and purchase intention on the Tokopedia platform. The data analysis method used is Simple Linear Regression using the SPSS version 25 program. Based on the results of data analysis, a correlation or relationship value (R) of 0.548 (54.8%) is obtained, this value indicates that the correlation or relationship between advertising and interest is a fairly strong relationship. The results of hypothesis testing and it is known that tcount > ttable, which is 2.761 > 1.987. Thus, Tokopedia advertisements featuring Blackpink as brand ambassadors significantly influence buying interest in the Tokopedia platform.

Abstract

This study investigates the benefits of augmented reality (AR) in the tourism industry and its impact on data security. The background of the research highlights that information technology is becoming increasingly important in the tourism industry, with augmented reality (AR) being a major focus for enhancing visitor experiences. In this context, concerns about user data protection arise since AR applications may require personal information such as user location and travel preferences. A comparative research method was used to compare two popular augmented reality (AR) applications: Smartify, Arts and Culture, Zome, Augmented Reality, Maps AR, Guideo, and AR Trial. The results indicate that most applications have adequate data security policies, including data transfer encryption and user control over their data. Zome was found to be the best in terms of data security and user privacy, scoring 90% in the assessment. This research underscores the importance of using AR applications to maintain data security and user privacy in the tourism industry and suggests further research to learn more about the data privacy practices of AR applications.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of playing Mobile Legends on toxic behavior in both children and adults. The background of this study is based on the fact that Mobile Legends is one of the popular online games in Indonesia and is widely played by children to adults, often exhibiting toxic behaviors. The method used in this research is a survey. The results of the study indicate that out of 15 survey questions, 90% of the respondents showed a tendency towards toxic activities while playing Mobile Legends. This indicates that individuals ranging from children to adults often engage in toxic behavior, such as using offensive language during gameplay. Therefore, one of the recommendations to create a healthier gaming environment is to block such accounts to prevent them from playing the game for a certain period.

Abstract

Machine Learning berperan penting dalam menangani masalah klasifikasi dan pemrosesan untuk memprediksi perkembangan informasi terkait Undang-Undang Perlindungan Data Pribadi. Data pribadi merupakan informasi individu yang harus dijaga integritasnya, dengan perlindungan yang dijamin oleh negara. Namun sayangnya, Indonesia menduduki peringkat sangat rendah dalam hal keamanan siber dibandingkan negara-negara lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali tantangan ini dan mencari solusi potensial untuk memastikan keamanan dan perlindungan data pribadi. Dalam penelitian ini, metode Support Vector Machine (SVM) digunakan untuk menganalisis dan mengkategorikan sentimen masyarakat terkait Undang-Undang Perlindungan Data Pribadi pada platform aplikasi X bersifat positif, netral, atau negatif. Data sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 275 data tweets yang kemudian dilakukan scraping. Pengolahannya menggunakan pemrograman Python dan tools Google Colab. Sebelum dilakukan analisis, terlebih dahulu dilakukan preprocessing untuk menghilangkan kata-kata maupun informasi yang tidak diperlukan sehingga tingkat akurasi yang dihasilkan dapat mendekati gambaran pada kenyataannya. Setelah dilakukan analisis, diperoleh hasil sentimen positif sebanyak 83 data tweets, sentimen negatif sebanyak 43 dan sentimen bersifat netral sebanyak 143. Hasil pengujian klasifikasi pada data tweets memiliki akurasi sebesar 73%. Dengan menggunakan SVM, diharapkan dapat mengidentifikasi persepsi dan respon masyarakat terhadap perlindungan data pribadi serta mengembangkan strategi yang lebih efektif untuk menjaga keamanan data pribadi di Indonesia. Upaya ini penting mengingat tantangan meningkatnya ancaman siber dan perlunya perlindungan data yang kuat dalam era digital saat ini.

Abstract

In the continuously evolving digital era, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has transformed the landscape of higher education. One of the emerging innovations is the use of ChatGPT. The use of ChatGPT in the learning process can also have complex impacts. One of the aspects that needs attention is the possibility of an increase in students' levels of laziness, as ChatGPT can interpret and engage in natural human language conversations. The objective of this research is to provide an understanding of how the use of ChatGPT in the context of higher education can influence student behavior and motivation. The research conducted is of an analytical observational type with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya. The population in this study consisted of ITS students. The sample used in this research included 100 ITS students. Data collection techniques in this study involved surveys through Google Forms and observations. The instruments used in the research included validity sheets, observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this research included validity testing, observation data analysis, prerequisite testing, and hypothesis testing. The research results indicate that there is an influence of ChatGPT on the level of laziness among students in completing assignments. However, this influence is not statistically significant.

Abstract

With the advancement of technology, more and more OpenAI products have emerged, one of which is ChatGPT. The use of ChatGPT has been widely adopted, particularly in the field of education. Numerous previous studies have shown that the use of ChatGPT in the learning process has a positive impact. Therefore, this research aims to determine students' preferences for the use of ChatGPT in the learning process. This study employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach and will be measured using a Likert Scale. The research showed that most students gave a positive response to the use of high-scale ChatGPT to assist the learning process in lectures because of the role and benefits provided by ChatGPT in three aspects of the learning process, including student engagement, material understanding, and learning effectiveness.
