Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015. The design of this study used experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study is students of grade VIII SMPN 2 Gunungsari, with sampling was using cluster random sampling technique. The samples are the students of class VIII A as experimental class and class VIII B as control class. Data results studying by test used is polled variance t-test. The results of the analysis of hypothesis test obtained tcount= 2,71 compared with ttable = 2,.02 at the significance level of 5%. According to criteria of hypothesis testing, if tcount > ttable, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there are effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research (PTK) which aims to increase physical activity and learning outcomes of students of class VII SMPN 5 Jonggat in academic year 2015/2016 by applying the model-aided Discovery Learning with simple props. Classroom action research consists of four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, while the implementation of the model of Discovery Learning aided with simple props was done through six stages, that are stimulation, problem identification, datacollectingby using props simple, data processing, verification and conclusion. This research was done in two cycles. Based on the result of research that had been done, obtained theaverage score of student learning activities in first cycle in the first and second meeting were 8.8 in sufficient active category and 12 in the active category. The evaluation results in first cycle obtained average grade reaches 60 with classical completeness 73%. In second cycle,the average score of student learning activity in the first and second meeting were 16.6 and 18, with both of them are in the very active category. The average results of students in the second cycle increased to 68 and 85% of classical completeness. Based on the results of the research, it could be concluded that the application of the model-aided Discovery Learning with simple props can increase the activity and learning result of students of class VII SMPN 5 Jonggat in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research (CAR) which aims to improve learning outcomes physics class VIII SMPN 3 Mataram. The sample used in this research is class VIII 3 totaling 30 people, by applying science technology society learning model. Action research consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection, while the implementation science technology society learning model is done through the five stages of the preliminary stage, the formation of the concept, application of concepts, strengthening the concept and assessment. This study is successful if students achieve learning outcomes classical completeness 85% with the value of each student reach ≥ 75. Based on the evaluation of the obtained value of the average grade in the first cycle of 78.01 with 71.43% classical completeness. In the second cycle learning outcomes of students has increased, with an average grade of 86.02 and classical completeness amounted to 85.7%. Based on the results of this study concluded that by applying science technology society learning model can improve learning outcomes physics class VIII SMPN 3 Mataram according to the five stages above.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the difference between physics learning result through numbered heads together type cooperative learning model helped by question card and physics learning result through direct instruction learning model at SMAN 7 Mataram on academic year of 2015/2016. This research was an experimental study with pretest posttest control group design. The population in this research was all the students of XI IPA SMAN 7 Mataram. Based on sampling process using cluster random sampling tehnique, XI IPA 7 was choosen as the experiment A class and XI IPA 6 was choosen as the experiment B class. The result of the test analized using t-test polled varians showed that tcount was 5,98 and ttable was 1,99 in the significant level of 5 % with the degree of freedom (df) of 61. Since tcount > ttable, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that there were a difference between physics learning result through numbered heads together type cooperative learning model helped by question card and physics learning result through direct instruction learning model at SMAN 7 Mataram on academic year of 2015/2016

Abstract

This is a quasi experiment research with nonequivalent control group design. This research aimed to examine the effect of cooperative learning model type GI with open-ended problem technique toward activity and physics learning outcome of students. The population of this research is all students of class XI IPA SMAN 3 Mataram in academic year 2016/2017. The Sampling technique used is purposive sampling to get the students of class XI IPA 6 as experiment group and XI IPA 5 as control group. The experiment group was treated with cooperative learning model type GI with open-ended problem technique while control group was treated with cooperative learning model type GI. The instruments used for learning activities are non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets and to measure the physics learning outcome used test instruments with multiple choice form. The research hypothesis was tested using manova test and t-test pooled variance. The results showed that there was an effect of cooperative learning model type GI with open-ended problem technique towards activity and physics learning outcome of the students.

Abstract

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based film polymers that contain trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and methylene blue (MB) dye has been synthesized. The synthesis aimed to obtain material that can be applied as film dosimeter. Six PVA-TCA-MB thin film samples have been synthsized by varying PVA grades and TCA composition. Characterization of optical property of the resulted polymer was undertaken by measuring samples absorption within wavelength range of 200 nm to 700 nm.  Absorption spectrum of samples showed an optimum between 547-644 nm that corresponds to purple colour and characteristic to MB absoption. Further analysis showed the influence of TCA concentration and storage periode of the polymer. Optimization of syntesis by evaluating synthesis condition, heating and storage time is yet to be done in order to obtain polymer that can be used as dosimeter with reproducible optical property.

Abstract

Abstract – This study aimed to find out the effect of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) LKPD aided in the ability to think creatively physics learners in SMAN 3 Mataram. Type of research used quasi-experiment with non-equivalent research design or untreated control group design with pre-test and post-tes. The population of all students of class XI MIA SMAN 3 Mataram, amounting to 349 people. Sampling research using purposive sampling technique, so selected XI class MIA 3 as experimental class and XI MIA 4 as a control class. The experimental class was given treatment in the form of cooperative learning model of NHT type supported by LKPD and control class was given treatment in the form of direct teaching model. The data collection of creative thinking ability is done by the form of a description test as many as 10 questions consisting of 7 questions of verbal creativity and 3 figural creativity questions. Creativity data was analyzed by using t-test polled variance at 5% significant level with degrees of freedom 73. The results of research on the influence of cooperative learning model type NHT assisted LKPD on the ability of creative thinking physics learners obtained tcontinue > t(0,05;73) = 3,63 > 2,00. Based on the results of this analysis can be concluded that cooperative learning model type NHT aided LKPD effect on the ability of creative thinking physics learners in SMAN 3 Mataram.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the influence of Problem-Based Learning Models assisted with Simulation Based Laboratory (SBL) on students’ physics learning outcome in class XI IPA of SMAN 1 Montong Gading academic year 2015/2016. The material used in the research is momentum and impulses. The type of the research is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The population which is used in this research are the whole students of class XI IPA of SMAN 1 Montong Gading which decided by purposive sampling technique. C lass XI IPA 1 as the experiment class and class XI IPA 2 as the control class. The result of study was analized using t-test polled varians. Based on the research outcome, it can be concluded that Problem-Based Learning Models Assisted with Simulation Based Laboratory (SBL) influenced students` physics learning outcome.

Abstract

This class action research aims to enhance the learning outcomes of the 6th graders of SD Negeri 6 Mataram in their science lesson by corporating Science KIT in teaching and learning activities inside the classroom. The research was conducted in 2 cycles, each of which included 4 different steps, namely, Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. After the research, it is shown that the average learning outcomes and classical completeness for the first cycle are 84,7 and 84%, while the average learning outcomes and classical completeness for the second cycle are 88,4 and 94% respectively. This thus shows an improvement in the students’ learning outcomes, especially related to electrical and thermal energy. This conclusion is drawn after looking at the fact that 94% of the students score more than 75 in the test. This result is only obtained after the science KIT has already been applied in Science Lesson inside the classroom.

Abstract

Teaching is a teacher’s daily job. Nevertheless, it turns out that teaching students about how they should study is not easy. This research is included as Research and Development—also known as RnD—which aims to give an actual example of how to teach and to embed submarine concept in a simple way through Curriculum 2013. The result of the research, which is a student-oriented learning design which in turn is an implementation of scientific approach, is the output resulted from a long term study, development and experience obtained by the writer team through teaching and training a number of supervisors, school principals, and teachers in various areas of Indonesia. The responses for this teaching model obtained from the teachers have been very positive, whereby 95% teachers claimed that they are very interested in the design, and only 5% claimed that they are mildly interested. This thus indicates that this teaching model can become a model to be referred to in teaching using scientific approach in Curriculum 2013.
