Abstract

This study explores the transformative impact of a dynamic Question and Answer (Q&A) method on students' higher-order thinking skills. In an era where rote memorization dominates traditional classrooms, this research investigates an innovative pedagogical approach designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities among students. The study employs a mixed-methods research design, integrating qualitative and quantitative analyses to measure the effectiveness of the Q&A method. This research dissects the impact of the Q&A method on cognitive development. It delves into the theoretical foundations of higher-order thinking skills and examines how the interactive nature of the Q&A process stimulates intellectual curiosity. By intertwining challenging questions with collaborative problem-solving activities, educators are empowered to foster an environment where students not only learn but also think critically and creatively. The research results indicate that there are four questioning methods, namely narrative questioning, guessing objects answering method, questioning through body movements, and argumentative questioning. Preliminary findings hint at a positive correlation between the implementation of the Q&A method and significant strides in students' critical thinking abilities. This research goes beyond the conventional boundaries of academia, offering a transformative pedagogical approach that equips students with skills crucial for navigating the complexities of the modern world. By cultivating higher-order thinking skills, this study strives to empower students not only as knowledgeable individuals but as adaptable and innovative thinkers prepared to meet the challenges of the future head-on.

Abstract

Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that affects various aspects of a child's development, including language abilities. This study aims to identify and analyze the fluency, articulation, and sentence structure abilities of autistic children at SMAN 1 Glenmore, Banyuwangi Regency. The research employs a qualitative descriptive design. The data in this study consists of words and sentences, with the data sources being autistic students from Class X IPS4 at SMAN 1 Glenmore Banyuwangi. The method used for data collection is the observation-participation method, where the researcher observes the spoken and written expressions of autistic students from Class X IPS4 SMAN 1 Glenmore Banyuwangi through recording and note-taking techniques. Additionally, interviews were conducted with the autistic students, teachers, parents, and the students' peers. After the data was collected, the researcher performed data reduction, classification, verification, tabulation, and coding for each data set. Finally, the researcher interpreted the data and drew conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the expressive language abilities of autistic children are still hindered by several factors, such as fluency in speaking, pronunciation, and unclear articulation, especially in words containing the letters or endings L, N, M, R, T, and NG. Autistic children tend to speak in short phrases and are experience significant challenges in active communication, nor can they convey information clearly. However, Bela Citra Kinanjur (BCK) is able to write independently with simple compositions, although some grammatical errors are still present, such as in the use of articles, spacing, and writing mechanics. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers help build the confidence of autistic students through public speaking activities, writing therapy, and word-building stimulation.

Abstract

Indonesia is called a plural country because it consists of various ethnic groups, races, religions, cultures and languages. Thus, the Indonesian people are prone to conflict, especially those related to religious differences. This phenomenon often occurs among teenagers, especially at Tapal Kuda area. The factors that underlie this are the existence of personal interests, the influx of radicalism, economic business, lack of tolerance, increasing politics, fading of local wisdom, excessive sensitivity, miscommunication, and lack of tabayyun attitude. Therefore, this study presents the concept of religious moderation in order to stem this. This study aims to stem the conflict with the concept of religious moderation through a linguistic approach and local wisdom. This research is a qualitative research with observation and interview methods. The data were obtained from interviews with the Tapal Kuda speakers by voice recording and field note-taking. In addition, the researchers also used reflective-introspective methods. The results of this study indicate that (1) The underlying factors are the existence of personal interests, the entry of radicalism, economic business, lack of tolerance, increasing politics, fading of local wisdom, excessive sensitivity, miscommunication, and lack of tabayyun attitude.
