Abstract

This study aims to explore and examine in depth the fundamental principles in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools based on linguistic theory, pedagogical approaches, and national curriculum provisions. This research was carried out through a literature study method by reviewing various scientific references, including language education textbooks, articles in academic journals, and education policy documents published in the range of 2020 to 2025. The results of the analysis show that the main principles of Indonesian learning at the elementary school level include communicative, contextual, integrative, functional, and student-centered principles. These five principles emphasize the importance of a learning process that develops comprehensive language competence through authentic, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences. The implementation of these principles not only encourages students to master the structure of language, but also to understand language as a medium of thinking, creating, and interacting in social life. Thus, increasing teachers' understanding of the basic principles of Indonesian learning is a key factor in realizing an effective, fun, and consistent learning process in line with the essence of basic education.

Abstract

The utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) is a strategic effort to enhance community health self-reliance, reduce dependence on synthetic drugs, and preserve local biodiversity. In Nagari Batu Tanjung, Talawi District, Sawahlunto City, the potential for TOGA is high due to favorable geography and extensive backyard land. However, its use remains limited because of low herbal literacy, minimal organic cultivation skills, and the absence of a properly managed communal garden. This community service program aimed to empower residents through education, direct practice, and guidance in cultivating and processing medicinal plants. Activities included awareness sessions on TOGA’s benefits, land preparation, planting of herbal seeds (ginger, turmeric, cardamom, sungkai, Java turmeric, aloe vera), and the establishment of a model TOGA garden. Based on pre- and post-test results from 40 participants, knowledge and cultivation skills improved significantly—from 40% to 95% of participants understanding proper TOGA cultivation. Active collaboration among residents, village officials, and students ensured the program’s success. Through Q&A sessions and hands-on practice, the community gained practical skills suited to local conditions. The established TOGA garden now serves as a learning medium, a health-supporting initiative, and a foundation for developing herbal products that promote sustainable economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality, price, and brand image on guest stay decisions at The Sultan Hotel Jakarta. The background to this research is the increasing competition in the hotel industry, which demands that business owners understand the factors that influence consumer preferences and decisions when choosing accommodation. In this context, hotels are required not only to provide adequate facilities but also to deliver a superior service experience and build a positive perception of value in the eyes of consumers. The research method used was a quantitative approach with an accidental sampling technique. The sample consisted of 80 respondents who were guests who had stayed at the hotel. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The analysis included validity, reliability, classical assumptions, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination to ensure the accuracy of the research model. The results showed that service quality, price, and brand image significantly influenced stay decisions, both partially and simultaneously (p<0.05). Service quality was the most dominant variable (β=0.103), followed by price perception (β=0.017) and brand image (β=0.012). These findings underscore the importance of improving service, setting competitive prices, and strengthening brand image to increase guest retention decisions.
