Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive picture of financial behaviors in this dynamic socioeconomic context by examining the saving and investment habits of Indonesian households. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative survey data with qualitative material obtained through in-depth interviews. The demographic profile of the sample demonstrates a broad range of representation in terms of age groups, income levels, levels of education attained, and employment circumstances. Quantitative analyses reveal that a significant portion of participants save on a regular basis, with a variety of investment portfolios and savings vehicles that they prefer. Relationships between socioeconomic factors, such as education level and income, provide crucial information about what motivates people to make financial decisions. The findings demonstrate the important roles that behavioral variables, cultural influences, and risk perceptions all have in shaping household financial decisions. The study's conclusions, which highlight the need of targeted financial education programs and culturally sensitive interventions, can be helpful to policymakers, financial institutions, and educators alike. Overall, this study broadens our knowledge of household financial behavior and offers data that Indonesia can utilize to create policies that promote economic empowerment and financial resilience.

Abstract

Along with the development of information technology, the use of the internet in education has also progressed. The use of the internet is no longer limited to distance education, but has penetrated into the conventional education system. E-learning is a learning model presented in digital format through electronic devices. The purpose of implementing e-learning is to expand access to education for the wider community. One of the supporting factors for the modernization of the education subsystem is the presence of Wifi facilities in educational institutions which are expected to increase student learning motivation. As agents of change, students are required to be able to exercise social control over themselves from the adverse effects of freedom to access the internet through these WiFi facilities, so that the education process can run as expected. This study aims to examine the influence of Social Media on personality and student learning discipline. The research sample was students of Linggabuana PGRI University Sukabumi in the academic year 2023/2024. The method used is quantitative descriptive analysis with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. The sample amounted to 100 students of Linggabuana PGRI University Sukabumi. The results showed that the effect of using Social Media on personality and discipline was 15.6%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Social Media affects personality and discipline.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between performance assessment practices and educational quality in educational institutions, with specific focus on employee engagement as an intervening variable. While extensive research has explored human resource management practices in educational settings, limited attention has been given to the mediating mechanisms through which performance assessment influences educational outcomes. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS, this research tested a theoretical model positing that performance assessment affects educational quality both directly and indirectly through enhanced employee engagement. Data were collected from 347 educational staff (67.7% teaching staff, 23.6% administrative staff) across various educational institutions using validated survey instruments. Results confirmed that performance assessment significantly influences educational quality directly (β = 0.32, p < 0.001) and indirectly through employee engagement (β = 0.26, 95% CI [0.18, 0.35], p < 0.001), supporting partial mediation. The dimensions of performance assessment that most strongly contributed to this relationship were assessment criteria clarity and feedback quality. Multi-group analysis revealed that the mediating effect was stronger for teaching staff compared to administrative staff. These findings contribute to the integration of human resource management and educational leadership theories by demonstrating how performance assessment practices influence educational outcomes through both direct instrumental effects and indirect motivational pathways. For educational leaders, the study highlights the importance of designing comprehensive performance assessment systems that not only provide clear standards and constructive feedback but also foster engagement by emphasizing fairness, development orientation, and staff participation. Future research should employ longitudinal designs to establish causality more definitively and explore additional mediating variables to develop a more comprehensive model.

Abstract

This study explores how reading corners can increase students’ interest in reading and improve literacy skills at SD Negeri Cilondong, located in Cihanyawar Village, Sukabumi Regency. The reading corners were created as a solution to the lack of reading materials and poor reading environments often found in rural schools. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the study involved 80 students from grades 1 to 6, along with teachers and school staff, in a process of planning, implementing, and evaluating the reading corner activities. Data were collected through questionnaires, reading logs, and group discussions. The reading corners were filled with storybooks, comics, science books, picture books, and folk tales. After several months, the results showed clear improvements: 68.8% of students enjoyed reading more, 75.1% actively used the reading corners, and over 70% showed better reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. Most students visited the corners regularly and many borrowed books to read at home. This study shows that a simple, low-cost reading corner, developed with community involvement, can significantly help improve reading habits and literacy in rural elementary schools.
