Abstract

The 2015 United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) report stated that violence against children occurs widely in Indonesia, and from the results of monitoring by the Indonesia Child Protection Commission (Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia, KPAI), the increase in the number of violence against children has increased significantly from 2011 to 2015. The impact of violence on children is vast, including the increased risk of suicidal behavior. This research employed a cross-sectional method with adolescents aged 13–18 years in Bandung city. Subject selection was conducted using the consecutive sampling method. The history of violence was measured using the IPSCAN Child Abuse Screening Tool for Children (ICAST-C) Indonesian language version, and the risk of suicide ideation was calculated using the early detection of adolescent suicide ideation risk factors instrument. Data analysis uses the chi-square method and the t-independent test (unpaired). This research was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the researcher collected data online. The study was conducted in Bandung city. Data collection was carried out from May to June 2020. The results of 69 adolescents in Bandung city were 72% (50 adolescents) who experienced at least 1 type of violence, and 36% (25 adolescents) had suicidal thoughts. Teens who had experienced violence were 16.6 times more likely also to have suicidal ideation. The conclusion was found that there was a meaningful relationship between child abuse and the risk of suicidal ideation in adolescents in Bandung city.

Abstract

The Kangean Islands, Madura, serve as a transit hub for traders and fishermen from various regions, including the Bugis ethnic that migrated to the Kangean Islands in the past few decades. Interaction and adaptation carried out by the Bugis ethnic and native in the Kangean islands is able  to bridge the differences between these ethnicities.This article analyses the structural assimilation of the Bugis  community with the natives on the Kangean island, especially at the grassroots level. This research  used the fenomenology approach. Data collection is conducted through in-depth interviews. The findings proved that the process of cultural assimilation of Sulawesi culture in Kangean island, particularly in the Arjasa sub-district can be considered successful, especially when observing the limited conflicts that occur. Structural assimilation has reached a broader scale, encompassing the participation of Bugis community in various aspect. In education, interactions with Bugis culture primarily occur informally in activities organized by the Sulawesi Student Association. In economic, structural assimilation is evident in the mutual acceptance of job opportunities and interdependence in economic resources. Abstract

Dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa dan persaingan dunia kerja yang semakin ketat sehingga perlu adanya penguatan pendidikan diseluruh wilayah Indonesia tidak terkecuali di wilayah pedesaan. Dengan adanya program MMD (Mahasiswa Membangun Desa) tepatnya di desa Karangduren dan Glanggang Kec, Pakisaji maka tema ini dipilih berkaitan dengan upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat desa melalui pengembangan pendidikan literasi dan digitalisasi sumber belajar. Program ini sesuai dengan SDGs 4 tentang Pendidikan berkualitas, dan SDGs 5 tentang Kesetaraan gender. Pengembangan pendidikan literasi dan digitalisasi sumber belajar ini sangat penting karena akan membantu masyarakat desa meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dapat digunakan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, sehingga membantu mendorong perkembangan sosial dan ekonomi di desa-desa, serta membantu mewujudkan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan secara lebih luas.

Abstract

<p class="Normal1"><strong><em>(Title:</em></strong> <strong><em>The Reproduction Of Metabo Law Discourse In Constructing Fat Characters Stereotype In Japanese Animes) </em></strong><em>Japanese government through Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) in 2008 issued the Metabo Law regulation, which is the standard of medical and health guidance that is done specifically with the purpose to decrease the number of obesity which cause the metabolic syndrome. This regulation put the body of each individual to be open to the public. Using Foucault’s perception, this study look how Metabo Law works and how the reproduction of Metabo Law discourses constructing stereotype of fat character in Japanese anime. This study took data from 14 fat character in 13 anime, airing in 2008’s until 2015’s. To complete the data, interview were conducted on 5 Japanese about their understanding about Metabo Law. This study shows that with the normalization process using yearly general checkup and the reproduction of Metabo Law discourses, Japanese government successfully change the Japanese mindset and their behavior in maintained a healthy life style and to stay slim.
