Abstract

Changes in social and economic behavior in society can be influenced by various factors, one of them can be caused by the development of technology and information such as social media. Srigading Village in Bantul Regency is one of the villages affected by social media, especially for some farmers in the village who initially planted onion commodities, then turned to plant flowers. This is due to the influence of social media that is able to create new markets for agriculture, that are packaged in the concept of agro-tourism which is agro-tourism. The purpose of this study aims is to analyze changes in social and economic behavior that occur as a result of the development of social media and saw the picture of farmer’s economic activities who had changed from conventional farming to agro-tourism. This research method uses quantitative methods through a descriptive approach. Data collection using questionnaires, interviews, observation, and study of literature. The population subjects in this study were onion farmers who switched to flower farmers. The results shown the shifting in farming cultivation into agro-tourism farming brought changes in the socio-economic life of farmers in Srigading Village. This can be seen from the increase in Increasing incomes and higher economic activities that make life prosperous were factors that make the farmers changed their business. Farmers use the internet and social media to gain ideas, develop, promote and sell their products. The economic picture of farmers can be seen from the production and marketing processes that are easier. Expanding their business means they increase the employment rate inside the village. There is also a change in the pattern of consumption of agricultural products.

Abstract

Land cover changes occur in Indonesia where one of them is in Kelapa Kampit, East Belitung Regency. This area is very famous for large-scale tin mining activities carried out by tin companies. Along with the policy on mining activities that must care about the surrounding environment and reclamation and revegetation activities carried out in post-mining land, the massive tin mining activities in the region are decreasing. This study aims to analyze changes in land cover and find out the adaptation of the community carried out due to changes in land cover and to know the factors that influence the adaptation strategy. This study uses the mixed methods approach. The data used include in the form of Landsat TM satellite imagery acquisition in 1995 and Landsat 8 acquisition in 2015 and interview data. The method of separating land cover objects using the technique of not guided digital classification. After the reclassification process has been carried out, 8 (eight) classes of land cover are produced. The results of the study show (1) there are contradictory conditions between mining land and forests with oil palm plantations. The condition of the mining area and forests from 1994 - 2015 decreased, while the area of oil palm plantations increased significantly. (2) The community adapts to varying sources of income, changes mining areas and relies on assistance from various parties (3) The factors that determine community adaptation are education, knowledge, environmental conditions, people's understanding of job other than mining, sources of income and assistance provided to the community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana bentuk nilai-nilai tradisi kuliner yang diwariskan kepada generasi selanjutnya yang tercermin dalam tiga serial drama Jepang dengan genre food, yaitu Osen (2018), Wagashi Bakery (2016) dan Edo Mae no Shun (2018).penelitian ini mengunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai tradisional yang terdapat dalam ketiga drama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam ketiga serial drama tersebut terdapat nilai-nilai tradisi kuliner yang selalu dijaga sehingga mampu mempertahankan keberlangsungan bisnis kuliner tradisional mereka, yaitu nilai estetika, nilai sosial, nilai tanggung jawab, nilai kreatifitas, nilai loyalitas, dan nilai pendidikan. Nilai-nilai tersebut diturunkan dari satu generasi ke generasi penerusnya, yaitu ketika tokoh Shun mempelajari cara membuat sushi dari Matsunoshuke, ayahnya, tokoh Osen mempelajari cara memasak dan mengelola restoran dari ibunya dan kemudian Osen mengajarkan cara memasak tersebut pada Ezaki, karyawannya, serta tokoh Arare yang belajar membuat wagashi(kue tradisional Jepang) dan mengelola toko wagashi tersebut dari ibunya. Nilai-nilai tersebut adalah salah satu kunci kesuksesan keberhasilan bisnis kuliner mereka bertahan hingga lebih dari 3 generasi.

Abstract

The growth in the number of BUM Desa (Village-Owned Enterprises) is increasing in line with the issuance of the Village Law. The number of BUM Desa, which currently reaches 47,717 units, should be appreciated. However, in light of its development, it is necessary to observe it from various sides, not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality. Therefore, it is essential to study how a conceptual review of the measurement of BUM Desa development. The purpose of this research is to carry out a literature study to determine the conceptual description of the development of BUM Desa. This study uses a non-systematic literature review method by exploring the literature and the results of previous studies related to the development of BUM Desa. The results of the study show that BUM Desa is a business entity that has the characteristics of a social enterprise, commercial institution, and local enterprise that form an integral part of the management of BUM Desa. Measuring the development of BUM Desa needs to consider these three characteristics in compiling its parameters and indicators. Therefore, BUM Desa can be said to be developing if it has succeeded in running social enterprises, commercial enterprises, and local enterprises. There is no standard in measuring the development of BUM Desa that can be used as a reference in general, so there are many different thoughts on the matter. Alternative parameters that need to be considered in measuring the development of BUM Desa include social value, civil society, innovation, financial perspective, customer perspective, business process perspective, growth and learning perspective, local potential and local wisdom.

Abstract

AbstractThe accessibility of BUM Desa is related to the development of BUM Desa, which is also one of the driving factors towards achieving the Village SDGs. This research aims to analyse the accessibility of BUM Desa in accelerating the achievement of Village SDGs. The research approach uses quantitative. The results showed that there is a valuable and circumstantial connection between the accessibility of BUM Desa and the development of BUM Desa. In addition, it was obtained that BUM Desa with "Basic" development status has poor accessibility (93.3%), while BUM Desa with "Developing" development status has a better level of accessibility (66.7%). Likewise, BUM Desa with "Advanced" development status has excellent accessibility (60%). The development of BUM Desa is related to the 8th Village SDGs "Equitable Village Economic Growth". To accelerate the achievement of Village SDGs Goals, interventions related to BUM Desa accessibility are needed. Keywords:Accessibility, BUM Desa, Village SDGs, Bogor Regency

Abstract

This article discusses the results of a study aimed at developing PowerPoint-based audiovisual media as a learning strategy to improve vocabulary memorization skills in English language learning. The researchers developed engaging and practical PowerPoint-based audiovisual media using a Research & Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The evaluation results from media design experts, English language experts, and learning experts indicated that the developed learning media fell into the highly suitable category with a percentage above 80%. Subsequently, the media was tested with small and large groups. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing using paired t-test showed that the PowerPoint-based audiovisual media on the topic of the human body was effective in improving students' vocabulary memorization skills in English language learning, with a calculated t-value of 2.845 > tabulated t-value of 2.028. Based on all these findings, it can be concluded that the use of PowerPoint-based audiovisual media has a significant impact on students' vocabulary memorization skills.

Abstract

The count of Village-Owned Enterprises (VOEs) across Indonesia has consistently escalated annually. However, the optimal utilization of VOEs in labor absorption remains unrealized because of suboptimal business performance. Thus, the formulation of a performance-enhancement model for VOEs is imperative. The primary objective of this study was to identify the challenges, propose solutions, and formulate a comprehensive model to improve the performance of VOEs. Data were collected using a mixed methods approach. Data collection used a mixed methods approach through diverse channels including observation, questionnaires, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and documentation. The resultant data were subjected to analytical techniques, including descriptive analysis, fishbone diagrams, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) for rigorous evaluation. The findings highlight that human resources are the core obstacle contributing to VOE underperformance. Employees regard interpersonal skills as the foremost dimension in cultivating social capital, significantly shaping human capital development. In terms of performance, the variable with the highest agreement was innovation capability. As such, selecting Social Capital and Human Capital as the foundational pillars for the performance improvement model of VOEs in the West Bandung Regency was both fitting and well-founded.

Abstract

Sustainable development requires the community’s active involvement, as well as other development inside the village. One of the most crucial dimensions of development in recent years is the environmental issues, especially waste problems, where there is  a lot of unhandled waste in rural areas. Fortunately, now there are villages that have succeeded in managing their waste in a sustainable manner with the support of village women's participation. The aim of this study was to determine the participation of village women in sustainable waste management. The research method uses descriptive qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation, and documentation. The results showed that the participation of village women in the flow of sustainable waste management has various forms of participation, which contained in each stage activities of management, sorting, transporting, processing, and utilizing the results of waste processing. Factors that encouraged the participation of village women in village waste management development were the community’s own willingness, ability to perform, and the opportunity to be actively involved. The village women proved that they were the largest producers of household waste, but at the same time were the ones that helped solve the waste problem. Through their services to their community, they have also increased the family's economic income through their involvement in waste management.

Abstract

Pacar Air (Impatiens balsamina Linn.) adalah tanaman yang berfungsi sebagai antikanker, antiinflamasi, antirematik, analgesik, emenagog, dan dapat melunakkan benjolan yang keras (tumor). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji aktivitas antikanker ekstrak n-heksana dan metanol dari herba pacar air terhadap sel kanker payudara T47D secara in vitro dengan metode MTT (microculture tetrazolium salt). Herba pacar air dikatakan memiliki aktivitasnya dilihat dari jumlah sel hidup yang telah diujikan terhadap sel kanker payudara (sel T47D) dengan metode MTT dalam rentang waktu 24 jam setelah pemberian konsentrasi larutan uji kemudian ditentukan harga IC50 dengan menggunakanprobit analysis. Ekstrak n-heksan memiliki harga IC50 97,493 µg/ml sehingga dikatakan moderate aktif terhadap sel kanker payudara T47D. Sedangkan ekstrak metanol memiliki harga IC50 295,359 µg/ml. Hasil uji KLT terbukti adanya kandungan flavonoid dan steroid.
