Abstract

Laboratory parameters in Covid-19 patients may have a relationship with the clinical severity of the patient on arrival. This study aims to Analyzing the relationship between NLR, ALC, and CT values with the clinical severity of Covid-19 patients on arrival. A total of 101 subjects were collected from medical records of RSI Jemursari Surabaya from April to September 2020. The correlation laboratory parameters (NLR, ALC, and CT-value) with the severity of Covid-19 patients (mild, moderate, severe and critical) were analyzed using One Way Anova and Kruskal Wallis. The relationship of NLR with severity (p-value=0.143), ALC with severity (p-value=0.165), and CT-value with severity (p-value= 0.987). Patients with COVID-19 tend to have a high NLR in all clinical conditions. The mean value of the ALC was within normal limits for all degrees of severity. There is no significant relationship between NLR, ALC, CT-value with the severity of Covid-19 patients.

Abstract

Background: Convalescent plasma therapy is the only antibody-based therapy used to treat COVID-19 Patients. The use of convalescent plasma therapy has been recommended by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a therapy for COVID-19 patients (FDA in Asep, 2020). Several routine biomarker parameters used as indicators in the diagnosis of COVID-19 are CRP, IL-6 and D-Dimer. There was a change between the three biomarker values of CRP, IL-6, and D-Dimer between COVID-19 patients on convalescent plasma therapy and COVID-19 patients who did not receive convalescent plasma therapy. This review article is how effective the use of convalescent plasma as therapy for COVID-19 patients is by looking at changes in the biomarkers of CRP, IL-6 and D-Dimer in patients receiving convalescent plasma therapy. Methode: This literature review uses 3 fulltext articles obtained by combining keywords in an electronic database: Scopus, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Articles were eliminated using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, then analyzed systematically. The preparation of the discussion uses a systematic analysis based on the themes and topics of discussion obtained in the research article. Conclussions: There were changes in the biomarker values of CRP, IL-6 and D-Dimer in COVID-19 patients who received convalescent plasma therapy and COVID-19 patients who did not receive convalescent plasma therapy. Keywords: D-Dimer level, Interleukin 6 (IL-6) level, C-Reactive protein (CRP) level, plasma konvalesen, dan outcomes pasien COVID-19

Abstract

After completing their education at Special Education School (SLB), intellectually disabled students have to return to their community. Therefore, it is necessary to provide them with simple skills of making use of used newspapers. This study was intended to provide the teenage intellectually disabled students of SLB YP3LB Makassar with the skill that would enable them to live independently. The training was given to 5 mentally disabled students of vocational class at SLB YP3LB Makassar. The methods used were socialization, training, and practice. The findings indicate that the empowerment in form of training to make handicrafts from used newspaper is good for intellectually disabled students. The training was successful because (1) the skills trained were been mastered by the participants, (2) the materials and tools used were well known to participants, (3) the activities were organized in simple ways, (4) the examples and instructions were clearly stated, (5) and time allotted was enough for participants to do the steps correctly. It is suggested that the ability of students with intellectual disabilities in making use of newspapers can be improved in various forms. The skills will be able to help intellectually disabled students to live independently using the skills to make a living.

Abstract

Teachers at SLB Negeri 1 Gowa are facing problems engaging interactive learning that is relevant to the current pandemic. They must present classes that are not only online-deliverable but also engaging, interactive, and entertaining for students. To address this issue, teachers must receive training that will assist them in creating engaging and dynamic learning materials that are also simple to create. The training's intention is for teachers to be able to develop interactive powerpoints with animation on their own. Participants can use animation to produce interactive power points as a result of this study. Some participants have done amazingly well. The conclusion is that after engaging in training on how to create interactive power presentations using animation, teachers in SLB Negeri 1 Gowa Regency improved their knowledge and skills. Given the teachers' output in the form of an interactive video created and posted to their YouTube channel, it is recommended that other schools enhance their teachers' knowledge and skills in creating interactive power points through training. The training is designed to provide children with special needs with engaging and interactive learning opportunities.

Abstract

Doormat-making training can be an effective way to increase the independence of children with special needs. In this training, children are taught how to make mats using simple materials such as old t-shirts, wire, scissors, and sticks or chopsticks. The method used to train students with special needs to make mats from used t-shirts involves identifying their existing level of knowledge and skills, conducting training, and evaluating the training activities. The training in making mats from used t-shirts can be carried out and runs as expected. Students can follow the steps in making a mat, although it may require more time and patience from the trainer in guiding them.

Abstract

Background:Vector-borne diseases, notably Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), represent a significant global health challenge, with the World Health Organization (WHO) estimating approximately 390 million infections annually. The Aedes aegypti mosquito, the primary vector of DHF, has developed resistance to conventional chemical insecticides, necessitating the exploration of eco-friendly alternatives. Avocado seed (Persea americana) extract, rich in insecticidal compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and saponins, presents a promising source for bioinsecticides. Granulated formulations offer advantages over liquid formulations, including enhanced stability, controlled release, and greater practicality in field applications. Objectives:This study aims to investigate the sustainable application of health management information systems and the role of health information technology strategies in supporting the continued use of such systems. Specifically, the focus is on the implementation of granulated bioinsecticide formulations derived from avocado seed extract as a sustainable solution for controlling Aedes aegypti larvae. Methods:An experimental laboratory study was conducted at the Phytochemical Pharmacy Laboratory, ITKES Muhammadiyah Sidrap, in September 2024. Granulated bioinsecticides were prepared from avocado seed extract and evaluated for their efficacy in controlling Aedes aegypti larvae. A total of 25 third-instar larvae were included in both experimental and control groups, with concentrations of 10, 15, 20, and 25 ppm administered. Larval mortality was assessed at 24 and 48-hour intervals. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA, followed by post-hoc tests to determine significant differences. Results:The granulated bioinsecticide demonstrated a high level of efficacy, achieving a mortality rate of 94.2% at 25 ppm within 72 hours, compared to 58.5% at 10 ppm. ANOVA results indicated that both the concentration of the bioinsecticide and the exposure duration significantly affected larval mortality (p < 0.05). The granulated formulations exhibited prolonged effectiveness and a controlled release of active compounds, supporting their potential for large-scale applications. Conclusion:The granulated bioinsecticide formulated from avocado seed extract offers an eco-friendly and effective alternative for controlling Aedes aegypti larvae. The findings highlight its stability and scalability for use in vector control programs, contributing to sustainable public health initiatives. Further research should focus on optimizing the formulation, conducting field trials, and evaluating potential environmental impacts to maximize its practical applicability.  Keywords:avocado seed; Bioinsecticide; Aedes aegypti; Granules; Dengue vector control
