Abstract

This article aims to describe the bantai adat tradition as local wisdom to welcome the month of Ramadan for the Merangin Jambi community. A qualitative method with an ethnographic approach is used to study, understand and analyze the phenomenon of the people of Merangin Regency, especially in the bantai adat tradition related to religion. This article was written objectively from the results of participant observations, interviews and literature studies conducted in the Merangin Community. Traditional slaughter is a tradition of slaughtering livestock such as cows and buffalo which aims to welcome the month of Ramadan and is carried out a few days before the month of Ramadan. The values ​​contained in the bantai adat tradition include social values, religious values ​​and local cultural values. By getting to know the traditional slaughtering tradition of the Merangin people, it can make the public know about the traditions that exist in Jambi Province. Keywords: Bantai Adat, Merangin, Tradition, Local Wisdom.   Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tradisi bantai adat sebagai kearifan lokal menyambut bulan Ramadhan bagi masyarakat Merangin Jambi. Metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi digunakan untuk mempelajari, memahami serta menganalisis fenomena masyarakat Kabu­paten Merangin khususnya dalam tradisi bantai adat yang berhubungan dengan keagamaan. Artikel ini ditulis secara objektif dari hasil observasi partisipan, wawancara dan studi literatur yang dilakukan pada Masyarakat Merangin. Bantai adat merupakan tradisi penyembelihan hewan ternak seperti sapi dan kerbau yang bertujuan untuk menyambut datangnya bulan Ramadhan dan dilaksanakan beberapa hari sebelum bulan Ramadhan. Nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam tradisi bantai adat antara lain nilai sosial, nilai religius serta nilai budaya lokal. Dengan dikenalnya tradisi bantai adat masyarakat Merangin, dapat membuat khalayak ramai mengetahui tentang tradisi yang ada di Provinsi Jambi. Kata kunci: Bantai Adat, Merangin, Tradisi, Kearifan Lokal.

Abstract

Learning today is closely related to digital technology, especially during Covid-19. The form of use of digital technology is the variety of products being developed. Still, almost no media can meet all age levels, and there are differences in student abilities, so careful design is needed. In biology learning material on the human reproductive system, it is known that the learning completeness score is low (46.2%). The reason is that this material requires good concept visualization while the existing media is minimal. Teachers and students need media that can visualize material well and can be accessed via smartphone. This research aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR) media on human reproductive system material. This research uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Data collection was carried out through expert validation and limited trials. The material expert validation result was 100%, and the media expert validation result was 95% (very good category). The teacher assessment result was 92%, and the student response was 83.5% (very good category). Based on these results, it is known that the AR media developed is suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

The weak ability of students to understand the material of the plant classification system is due to the large amount of material and scientific names that are not even known by students. The use of media that is still less varied and interesting causes boredom because there are too many writings and few pictures. During learning, students often listen to songs in secret to eliminate boredom. Therefore, media that is suitable to the needs and interests of students is needed, namely the biosong media (biology song). The purpose of this study was to develop biosong media on plant classification system materials. This study uses the ADDIE development model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation Evaluation stages. Sampling was done by non-probability sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the validation of material experts, media experts, student trials and teacher responses using questionnaires. The results of material expert validation are 78.1% and media experts are 99% with very good categories with the conclusion that the media is feasible and can be tested on students. The results of the small group trial at the implementation stage were 77.6% and the large group was 88.5% with a very good category. The result of the teacher's assessment of biology subjects was 90.6% with a very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed biosong learning media is feasible to be used as a learning medium and can help students learn the plant classification system material

Abstract

This community engagement study aimed to empower primary school teachers in Oyo Town to integrate mobile learning as a tool for breaking educational stereotypes and enhancing inclusive pedagogy. The initiative responded to persistent structural and attitudinal barriers in Nigerian primary education by offering stereotype-reduction training through mobile technology. Employing a sequential exploratory mixed-methods approach, the program involved 250 teachers from public and private schools across four local government areas. Qualitative data were gathered via semi-structured interviews, followed by quantitative validation through structured questionnaires. The findings revealed that teachers—particularly younger and less experienced ones—held strong positive perceptions of mobile learning's potential to challenge stereotypes, with no significant differences by gender, qualification, or school type. However, implementation was hindered by policy ambiguity, infrastructural deficits, and limited technological readiness. The study underscores the value of localized, community-responsive interventions in promoting digital inclusion and educational equity. Future research should investigate the long-term impact of mobile learning on classroom practice and explore peer-mentoring strategies to bridge generational gaps among teachers. The study recommends targeted investments in digital infrastructure, supportive policies, and differentiated capacity-building to ensure scalable integration of mobile learning in diverse primary school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based e-module on microplastic pollution in the Sengguruh Reservoir in improving students’ problem-solving skills. This research employed a quasi-experimental design involving two classes selected through purposive sampling. The experimental class was taught using the e-module integrated with the PBL model, while the control class used a conventional textbook and direct instruction model. The results revealed that the use of the PBL-based e-module on microplastic pollution in the Sengguruh Reservoir was more effective in enhancing students’ problem-solving skills compared to traditional teaching methods. Therefore, the PBL-based e-module on microplastic pollution can serve as an effective alternative learning media to foster students' problem-solving skills in biology education. Abstract

Integrasi teknologi khususnya Artificial Intelligence (AI) menjadi imperatif dalam pengembangan profesionalisme guru Biologi untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang mendukung pembelajaran mendalam. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PPM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada guru yang tergabung dalam Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Biologi SMA Kota Jambi mengenai pembelajaran mendalam, meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran mendalam berbantuan AI, serta menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 29 guru dan dilaksanakan melalui metode pelatihan serta pendampingan hands-on yang intensif. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, penyusunan rencana dan materi pelatihan, pelatihan konsep pembelajaran mendalam, workshop penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran dan evaluasi pelaksanaan program. Hasil workshop menunjukkan keberhasilan dalam peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam penguasaan konsep dan teknik penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran. Peningkatan diketahui dari rerata skor pretest sebesar 56,55 dan rerata skor post-test sebesar 76,50, yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rerata skor sebesar 20,00 dengan persentase peningkatan relatif sebesar 35,37%. Perangkat pembelajaran mendalam berbantuan AI yang dihasilkan oleh guru juga dinilai memiliki kualitas yang baik. Hal ini menunjukkan tercapainya standar produk yang inovatif. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan guru Biologi untuk mengintegrasikan AI dalam desain instruksional, menyusun perangkat pembelajaran Biologi yang adaptif, mendukung peningkatan mutu pendidikan Biologi, dan pengembangan profesionalisme guru berkelanjutan di Kota Jambi.

Abstract

Indonesia has a wealth of biodiversity in the form of various types of fungi, one of which is the black ear fungus (Auricularia polytricha) which is known to contain chemical compounds with the potential to inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi. This study aims to determine the effect of black ear fungus extract hair tonic on the growth of Malassezia furfur and the best concentration in inhibiting the growth of M. furfur. This type of research is a quantitative study with an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments, namely: P0: hair tonic brand X, P1: hair tonic without extract, P2: hair tonic extract black ear fungus with a concentration of 10%, P3: 30%, P4: 50%, and P5: 70% with 4 repetitions. The parameters observed were the diameter of the inhibition zone indicating antifungal activity with the best concentration, as well as the hair tonic evaluation test (organoleptic test, pH test, viscosity test, and irritation test). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with the DNMRT test with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that black ear fungus extract hair tonic had an effect on the growth of M. furfur. The results of the DNMRT test showed that P0 was significantly different from other treatments. Treatment P1 was also significantly different from other treatments. Hair tonic extract concentrations of 10% (P2), 30% (P3), and 50% (P4) were not significantly different. Hair tonic with the highest concentration of 70% (P5) was significantly different from other treatments and had a very strong antifungal category. The conclusion of this study is that there is antifungal activity of black ear fungus extract hair tonic on the growth of M. furfur, and the best concentration of antifungal hair tonic is 70%.
