Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise program on lowering blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension in Cibungur Village. The study population consisted of 40 elderly people with certain inclusion criteria who lived in Cibungur Village and had the physical ability to perform gymnastic movements. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling method. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure data were measured before and after the implementation of the hypertensive gymnastics program. The research design used was pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. Aerobic gymnastics programs involve movements such as High Footsteps, Boxing and Kicking Stances, Side Steps, Sliding Kicks, Skipping Ropes, and Body Stretching and Warm-Up. Gymnastics programs are run in regular sessions supervised by experienced instructors. Blood pressure measurement is done using a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. The results showed that aerobic exercise programs produced positive changes in the blood pressure of elderly people with hypertension. There was a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after participating in the gymnastics program. Data analysis showed a significant impact of gymnastics programs in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive elderly populations. This research has important implications for efforts to prevent and manage hypertension in the elderly. Aerobic exercise programs can be an effective alternative and can be implemented easily to help lower blood pressure in the elderly population with hypertension. Follow-up studies with larger sample sizes and control groups can provide deeper insights into the benefits and effectiveness of gymnastics programs in the management of hypertension in the elderly.

Abstract

This paper discusses the potential of using Aloe vera extract cream with various formulas, including the incorporation of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) as a cream base, for burn wound healing. The study aims to investigate the healing effects of second-degree burn wounds in mice using Aloe vera extract cream with different formulas. Phytochemical analysis identified the presence of phenols, tannins, and saponins in the Aloe vera extract. The results of the wound healing tests indicate that Aloe vera extract creams with different formulas have the potential to accelerate healing, with a healing time range of 8 to 14 days. Formulas containing VCO as a cream base showed faster healing, likely due to the medium-chain saturated fatty acid content in VCO that supports tissue regeneration. Aloe vera extract also possesses cleansing and antiseptic properties that can prevent infections in wounds. Although healing times varied among the different formulas, the main conclusion is that Aloe vera extract creams have the potential to support the healing of second-degree burn wounds.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of online gambling on mental health in a group of teenagers in Panimbang District, Banten. The research was conducted to understand the impact of online gambling activities on the mental well-being of teenagers, focusing on factors such as stress, anxiety, depression and impulsive behavior. Survey and interview methods were used to collect data from selected samples, which included teenagers aged 15-19 years who were involved in online gambling activities. The results of this research indicate that engaging in online gambling has a negative impact on the mental health of adolescents in Panimbang District. Respondents who were involved in online gambling tended to experience higher levels of stress and anxiety than those who were not involved. Apart from that, the level of depression was also found to be higher in the group of teenagers who were involved in online gambling. This research also shows a positive correlation between online gambling activities and impulsive behavior. Teenagers who engage in online gambling tend to exhibit higher levels of impulsive behavior, which can impact their decisions in everyday life. These findings underscore the importance of awareness of the negative impact of online gambling on adolescent mental health. Preventive and intervention steps need to be taken to reduce the risk of these negative impacts.
