Abstract

Children are Allah’s mandate entrusted to parents to be maintained, raise, educate and provide knowledge. The main task of parents is to educate and to provide religious knowledge, moral and other sciences which are useful for both one’s self and others. Parents are as the only most responsible person in determining an educational direction of the children. A good and bad moral is highly depending on early family educational process. If the parents are extremely concern and give extra attention to their children education, it certainly will produce a brilliant responsible man in his or her life.

Abstract

This article explains about sciences, technology its relation to moral values. The existence of sciences and technology seems to be more beneficial for human beings in implementing their activities in their daily life. It is suffice to say that sciences and technology can reduce human involvement in doing something. It can help mankind from working hard. On the one other hand, some people say that sciences and technology will be dangerous for human beings, for examples, nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, tanks, scud, and other sophisticated guns or weapons which are produced by mankind exclusively for massacring and killing enemies----human beings. Therefore, sciences and technology must be controlled by those who have moral values and religious teachings. Those who are behind the sophisticated technology should be inculcated moral values into their heart and mind. Actually, Islam is not against development and modern technology but it supports and facilitates them as long as it is beneficial for human beings. We do not have to put a blame on sciences and technology for the Muslims scholars and Muslims scientists themselves had given sAl-Ghazali, Ibnu Sina, Ibnu Rusyd, Ibnu Khaldun, Al-Tabari, Al-Kindi, Al-Jabeer, Al-Khawarizmi, Ibnu Badjah, Baiquni, Al-Farabi, Al-Razi, Omar Khayam, dan Al-Mas’udi toward modern sciences and particularly to the West (Andalusia). They had been contributing sciences and knowledge to the people both in the East and in the West which were introduced by the kingdom of Bani Abbasiyah and Bani Umayyah. Historically, Islam had been contributing sciences and technology to the Europe for more than five centuries. Unfortunately, when non-Muslims conquered Muslims countries they gave two choices for Muslims---becoming Christians or killed! Most of them were killed and some of them escaped to North Africa and Middle East. All muslims schools and libraries were burned by the conquerors. This was the worst circumstances faced by Muslims in Andalus (Spain), Bosnia Herzegovina, Kossovo, Myanmar and Iraq.

Islam gives important attention to every part of human life, physical health is an important part of Islamic education so it must be given equal attention to education in faith, morals and reason. Recently, the study of physical health from an Islamic perspective has rarely been touched upon. This study discusses the urgency of physical health from an Islamic education perspective. This research uses the Library Research method on several pieces of literature such as the Al-Qur'an, hadith, books, books and several related articles. From several literatures it has been found that the only way to achieve quality 'ubudiyah is by having a healthy and strong body. To achieve this, all physical matters need serious attention. In Islam there are at least three stages of physical maintenance as per the message of the Al-Qur'an and the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, firstly maintaining personal and environmental cleanliness, secondly consuming halal and healthy food and drinks and thirdly doing physical activity and sports. These three things are urgent for every human body to give the body the right to be able to worship, work and carry out other routines.

Abstract

Bullying in educational settings remains a significant challenge, despite the integration of moral education into the curriculum aimed at shaping students' character and reducing negative behaviors. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of moral education in addressing bullying while identifying barriers to its success. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with students and educators as participants. Data were analyzed thematically and through descriptive statistics to provide a comprehensive understanding. The key findings reveal a discrepancy between the moral values taught in schools and students' daily behavior. Barriers include inconsistent application of moral values, external influences such as social media, limited family involvement, and an overemphasis on formal religious practices without the internalization of moral values. This study concludes that a systematic and collaborative approach involving schools, families, and communities is essential to effectively reduce bullying, including refining moral education with a more comprehensive and practical approach applicable to students’ daily lives.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of anti-corruption education in traditional Islamic boarding schools (dayah) in Aceh, Indonesia. Grounded in qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis at selected dayahs. The findings reveal that anti-corruption values are not taught as isolated subjects but are embedded holistically in religious instruction, institutional policies, daily routines, and the moral example of teachers (teungku). The integration of classical Islamic texts—such as fiqh, aqidah, and akhlaq—with ethical conduct fosters an environment where values like honesty, responsibility, and justice are lived and reinforced through practice. Institutional leadership plays a key role in maintaining consistency between curriculum and conduct, while student organizations support peer-led accountability. This educational model represents a distinctive bottom-up approach rooted in religious and communal traditions, contributing to character formation and civic responsibility. Moreover, the Acehnese dayah model offers globally relevant insights for anti-corruption strategies by highlighting the role of culturally embedded, faith-based institutions in shaping ethical behavior. The study suggests that integrating spiritual, moral, and civic education through trusted local institutions may provide effective alternatives to formal, legalistic anti-corruption initiatives, especially in plural societies and post-conflict regions.

Abstract

This article discusses students' attitude toward the teachers in Traditional Islamic School (Dayah) Aceh. Akhlak (moral, attitude, behavior) is one of the most importance subjects in dayah curriculum that must be taught either for the new students or the senior ones. Dayah (traditional Islamic institution/school) are found throughout Aceh. This institution in another part of Indonesia is called Pesantren. In this institution, most of subjects studied are religious instruction under Syafi'i School of Thought. The students are adviced to study books under Syafiism only. Apart from Syafiism are not allowed. In teaching moral values, the books used are are Taysir al-Akhlak, Ta'lim Muta'allim, and Ihya 'Ulum al-Deen, These books discuss much about how to behave toward teachers, and therefore the students of dayah respect their teachers excessively. The way to respect teachers are spreading Salam when meeting teachers, talk softly with teachers, kissing teachers' hand after shaking hand, and etc. In case of respecting teachers, the students follow not only what they have studied in the books but they follow what they are looking through the attitude of their teachers in the dayah everyday. Therefore, the relationship between students and teachers in dayah are very close any time and anywhere.

Abstract

This study focuses on the experiential dimension of religiosity in Seudati poetry, providing constructive insights for researchers and readers regarding the experiential aspects found within its verses. Seudati poetry, as a cultural treasure of Acehnese oral tradition, deserves preservation due to its profound religious values—particularly those reflecting the consequences of an individual's beliefs, practices, experiences, and daily religious knowledge. Using a descriptive-qualitative method and a literary hermeneutic approach, the study interprets Seudati poetry as a reflection of universal truths about religiosity in the lives of the Acehnese people and Muslims globally. The analysis reveals that the experiential values in Seudati poetry include feeling close to Allah and sensing that prayers are answered, feeling grateful, having faith, being patient in facing trials, and experiencing inner peace. These findings confirm that the experiential dimension of religiosity is deeply embedded in the hearts of Muslims, especially among the people of Aceh, and serves as a meaningful way to draw closer to Allah SWT, the Lord of all creation.
