Abstract

Work safety on a job is very necessary, as well as in the propellant waste treatment plant. The Incinerator functions as a propellant waste treatment and interconnected with other supporting facilities such as cutting tools, conveyors and also propellant waste material. So that the layout in the incinerator facility does not cause a potential accident, it is necessary to carried out a safety analysis on the layout design of the facility. The purpose of the research was safety aspects of the incinerator installation. In the aspect of safety analysis, the dominant hazard was identified in the cutting process which can cause an accident to cut hands and be electrocuted. The layout of the installation proposed by considering the safety aspect, it was found that the required space requirement was 15mx20m. initial planning, hazards or accidents can be prevented or reduced.

Abstract

Background: Frozen shoulder is a joint disorder that causes limited motion of the shoulder joint in all directions of movement, causing both physical and functional problems. This activity aims to see the benefits of manual therapy and pendular codman exercises in increasing the activity of frozen patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019. Manual therapy methods and codman pendular exercises were given to 24 patients at the Physiotherapy Clinic of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The measuring instrument used to measure the functional activity ability of the shoulder is the index of shoulder pain and disability with the 0% -60% category being improving and 61% -100% being worse. Based on the results obtained during manual therapy and codman pendular exercise, it shows that the ability of the patient's shoulder functional activity has increased. where manual therapy and pendular codman exercise from 16 samples, the ability of shoulder functional activity with a SPADI value of 100% decreased and after manual therapy and pendular codman exercises for 3 times decreased to 12.5% ​​decreased and 87.5% improved. Based on these data it can be neglected that there is an effect of offering manual therapy exercises and pendular codman in increasing the patient's shoulder functional activity by 87.5%

Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative disorder that primarily affects the articular cartilage of the synovial joint, and ultimately bone and remodeling (spurs) at the joint boundary occur. Synovial thickening and capsule progression and joint effusion also occur. Disorders due to Osteoarthritis cause limited activity and limited ability in activities. Because, damage to the cartilage (cartilage) of the joint, so that the thickness of the subcondral bone increases, sclerosis of the bone plate, the growth of osteophytes in the joints, can stretch the joint capsule, resulting in inflammation, and weakening of the muscles connecting the joints. This study aimed to determine the effect of Manual Traction and Isometric Exercise in patients with Knee Osteoarthritis at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. Using quasi experiments with one group pretest posttest with a sample of 19 respondents. Measurement of Functional Activity with Jette Scale, using paired sample t-test analysis. There is a significant influence on functional activities before and after. hypothesis test by paired sample t-test obtained with the results of p-value < α (0.001 <0.05). There is the Effect of Manual Traction and Isometric Exercise on Functional Activity Enhancement in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. Researchers suggest that the next researcher add a number of samples and a longer time so that the results obtained are more maximal.

Abstract

The urgency of funding student creativity programs within the Triple Helix framework to encourage the independence of the defense industry is a step forward in making economic progress, especially the defense industry. The SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis method is used as a research framework to evaluate the internal and external factors that influence the success of the program. This research reveals that funding for student creativity programs has a significant urgency in strengthening the defense industry. Through collaboration between students, industry and the government, this program is able to generate innovation, research and development of new technologies that can increase the competitiveness of the defense industry. The SWOT analysis shows that the strengths of the student creativity program in Triple Helix include access to fresh and innovative student intellectual resources, the ability to combine academic knowledge with the needs of the defense industry, and the encouragement of collaboration and knowledge exchange between all parties involved. Weaknesses identified include a lack of adequate funding, challenges in integrating student activities into a complex industrial environment, and a lack of understanding of the long-term benefits of the program. However, the SWOT analysis also identified significant opportunities, such as the increasing need for innovation and new technologies in the defense industry, government support for collaborative programs involving students, and the potential to develop long-term partnerships between the defense industry and universities. The threats faced include intense global competition, the need for constant updating of defense technology, and the potential for gaps between academic knowledge and industry needs if there is not adequate collaboration. In order to realize the independence of the defense industry, this research recommends adequate funding for student creativity programs, provision of supporting infrastructure, increased collaboration between universities, industry and government, as well as the development of a long-term strategy to ensure the sustainability of this program.

Abstract

The complexity and dynamics of this era, the philosophy of defense science becomes a conceptual guide in formulating appropriate strategies. This research used a qualitative descriptive method.  Through qualitative descriptive methods, this research analyzes the role of defense science philosophy in determining strategies to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia. Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings the potential to increase the country's defense capabilities, but also brings new threats, especially in terms of cyber security and paradigm changes in social and economic life. From the research that had been carried out, researchers found that the philosophy of defense science is the basis for understanding basic values, principles and concepts in determining strategies to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 in conceptual analysis, defense ethics and ethos, threat identification, social studies and politics, as well as the development of critical thinking and innovation. Based on the role of the defense science philosophy, strategies were found to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, which includes strengthening cyber security, maritime defense, developing artificial intelligence, increasing human resource capabilities, international collaboration, and increasing public awareness and education. By using this approach, the philosophy of defense science contributes significantly protecting the Republic of Indonesia from growing threats in an era of rapidly developing technology.

Abstract

The Defense Industry is a central element in maintaining national security, requiring the alignment of military personnel with the sophistication of the main weapons system (alutsista). This article examines the crucial dynamics that tie individual skills in the military to the effective use of advanced defense equipment. The focus is on the evolution of military technology and the need to develop personnel skills in response to these advances. The Defense Industry is the backbone of national security, which requires synergy between the skills of military personnel and the sophistication of the main weapons system (alutsista). This article discusses the crucial link between individual skills in the military and the successful use of advanced defense equipment. Furthermore, the article explains the latest military technological innovations that influence the development of progress and the need for appropriate personnel skill development. By integrating sports skills as a promotional instrument, the article discusses the role of international military tournaments as a vehicle for strengthening the defense industry's image. Active involvement in agility sports not only creates national pride but also stimulates positive coverage in the media, providing a significant boost to the promotion of the defense industry. A wise marketing approach is needed to exploit the appeal of agility sports to educate and captivate the global market. Targeted marketing strategies can utilize agility sports as a tool to promote the defense industry, create emotional ties with the community, and, no less important, increase state revenues through increasing exports of defense equipment. This article also covers effective marketing approaches to maximize the benefits of agility sports involvement in increasing the appeal of the defense industry globally. By detailing case studies of countries that have successfully implemented this strategy, this article concludes that the integration of skills, advanced defense equipment, and promotion of agility sports is a holistic approach that has the potential to advance the defense industry, create national pride, and generate significant revenue increases for the country.

Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat memicu munculnya ancaman siber. Dampaknya tidak hanya pada bidang teknologi saja, namun juga mengancam berbagai bidang kehidupan seperti Pertahanan keamanan negara, ekonomi, ideologi, politik, sosial, dan budaya. Sehingga diperlukan adanya inovasi teknologi berupa cyber security yang handal dan terintegrasi dalam perlindungan data dan keamanan informasi semacam Benteng Digital yang mampu menangkal ancaman. Namun, cyber security di Indonesia dinilai masih belum cukup tangguh. Untuk memperkuat cyber security di Indonesia, sebaiknya dilakukan penguatan lima fondasi dasarnya, meliputi: kepastian hukum, prosedur tindakan teknis, struktur organisasi; capacity building, dan pendidikan bagi pengguna perangkat siber. Salah satu bentuk inovasi cyber security adalah sistem control access dan firewall. Kata Kunci: Inovasi Teknologi, Perlindungan Data, Keamanan Informasi Abstract Rapid technological developments trigger the emergence of cyber threats. The impact is not only in the field of technology, but also threatens various fields of life such as national security, economic, ideological, political, social and cultural defense. So that there is a need for technological innovation in the form of cyber security that is reliable and integrated in data protection and information security such as a Digital Fortress that is able to ward off threats. However, cyber security in Indonesia is considered not strong enough. To strengthen cyber security in Indonesia, it is advisable to strengthen the five basic foundations, including: legal certainty, technical action procedures, organizational structure; capacity building, and education for cyber device users. Abstract

Composite propellants are the primary fuel in rocket propulsion systems, consisting of a binder, fuel, and oxidizer. Ammonium perchlorate (AP) has long been used as an oxidizer in composite propellants due to its high performance and optimal combustion characteristics. However, the use of AP has negative environmental impacts due to hydrogen chloride (HCl) emissions, which contribute to air pollution and the potential for acid rain. Therefore, environmentally friendly alternative oxidizers are needed to support the defense industry. This study employs a qualitative method based on a literature review to analyze alternative oxidizers such as ammonium nitrate (AN), ammonium dinitramide (ADN), hydrazinium nitroformate (HNF), and hexaazaisowurtzitane (HNIW). The findings indicate that ADN is the most promising alternative to AP due to its good oxygen balance, high specific impulse (Isp), and more environmentally friendly combustion products. Meanwhile, HNF and HNIW exhibit high performance but are less stable and more sensitive to shocks. AN is a more economical and readily available oxidizer; however, it has limitations in terms of thermal stability and burn rate. These alternative oxidizers have the potential to replace AP in reducing environmental impact while supporting the self-sufficiency of the defense industry, considering aspects of safety, energy efficiency, and environmental impact. Further research is needed to enhance the stability of ADN and develop more efficient and sustainable production strategies for alternative oxidizers.

Abstract

Natural fiber-based composite boards have gained increasing attention as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional construction materials. While these materials offer notable mechanical performance and material efficiency, one of the primary challenges lies in improving their resistance to fire. This review presents a comprehensive analysis of existing literature on the fire performance of natural fiber composites, focusing on the role of fiber type, resin formulation, flame retardant additives, and production techniques. Based on a synthesis of ten experimental studies, it was found that composites combining kenaf fibers with phenolic resin and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) demonstrated the highest fire resistance—indicated by a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) exceeding 30%, longer ignition times, and slower burn rates. Additionally, fabrication methods such as hot pressing and surface coating proved effective in enhancing thermal resistance. Despite their promise, the adoption of these composites in broader industrial applications is hindered by challenges including energy efficiency, additive costs, and long-term stability. This review suggests that future development should integrate innovative material science with sustainable manufacturing strategies to produce fire-safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible composite panels.
