Abstract

One of the important skills for a student is reading. Reading is a window to the world, where by reading students will be able to understand and analyze information and expand their knowledge horizons. This research aims to see a picture of reading comprehension abilities in undergraduate students. The approach taken is quantitative descriptive. The method used is a test, namely reading speed and reading comprehension. The research population was undergraduate psychology students with a sample size of 138. The sampling technique was random sampling using the NIM of undergraduate students. The data analysis technique is descriptive statistics using Jamovi. Based on data analysis, the results showed that in general the reading speed of undergraduate students tended to be slow with an average speed of 131 Kpm as much as 75.4%. The level of understanding of reading content is in the low category, namely with an average PI% value of 45.7 as much as 92%. In general, it can be said that the reading comprehension ability of undergraduate students still tends to be low with an average of 77.8 Kpm with a reading comprehension of 49.1%. This means that undergraduate students' reading comprehension is less than 70% of 350 Kpm. For other researchers who are interested in the same theme, they can find effective interventions to improve undergraduate students' reading comprehension abilities.

Abstract

Kasus kekerasan seksual pada anak beberapa tahun terakhir menjadi hal yang mengkhawatirkan. Dari kasus tersebut pencegahan dapat dilakukan melalui lembaga skolah, karena di sekolah terdapat sosok guru yang dapat memberikan layanan perlindungan dan mengenalkan pendidikan seksual pada anak. Guru perlu meningkatkan kompetensi dan profesionalisme untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut dengan mengikuti program PPG daljab. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui sikap mahasiswa PPG daljab PAUD saat menyampaikan pendidikan seksual pada ank usia dini. Jenis penelitin yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif deskripti dengan menggunakan metode survey. Pengambilan data November 2023 – Mei 2024 di Jember, Jawa Timur. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 mahasiswa PPG daljab PAUD kabupaten Jember. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh tingkat percaya diri mahasiswa sangat baik sekitar 70% namun sebanyak 75% mahasiswa masih takut saat menyampaikan topik jenis kelamin pada anak.

Abstract

Excessive use of gadgets and internet access at an early age can affect a child's growth and development. The results of the research aim to determine the role of parents in selecting gadget broadcast programs for early childhood. The method used is a descriptive quantitative method. The research results show that 72.34% of parents only occasionally view and control what shows their children access and consume. 8.51% of them actually choose shows that are suitable for their children, do not give children the freedom to choose the shows they want to watch themselves, and 19.14% of parents give their children freedom to use devices and to play with devices, as long as they don't fuss and bother their parents. It was concluded that parents need an active role in assisting the use of devices and internet access to monitor and control the content of shows that can be seen by children. Although each group of parents has its reasons regarding the mentoring role that has been carried out, basically monitoring must be carried out so that parents have sufficient knowledge regarding children's behavior, and establish signs, rules and instructions for their growth and development.

Abstract

The ability to read is one of the most crucial skills in everyday life. Through reading, a person can acquire knowledge, information, and develop an understanding of the world around them. Good reading skills also form a vital foundation in the learning process at school. This research aims to identify and analyze effective methods for improving early childhood reading abilities, as well as to explore potential challenges faced by young children in understanding text and the factors influencing their reading development. This study is a qualitative case study. The research reveals a significant positive influence of these methods on letter and word recognition, as well as reading comprehension. Therefore, educators and parents can utilize these methods to support and enhance reading abilities, as strong reading skills have long-term benefits for a child's academic development.

Abstract

Cases of violence against children in Jember City in 2024 are ranked as significant.  Meanwhile, children living in orphanages are at risk of experiencing violence because of the limited facilities available. For this reason, it is necessary to provide community-based shelter management assistance to provide special support for children who are victims of violence.  The aim of this activity is to increase the capacity of the management of the Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Child Social Welfare Institution (LKSA) in Jember in handling and developing children who are victims of violence. Community service activities in this organization use Participatory Action Research (PAR). Through training and mentoring activities involving related institutions, such as UPTD PPA Jember and PPKS Task Force Muhammadiyah University Jember, LKSA employee gained a better understanding of preventing and handling violence against children. The evaluation results show a significant increase in participants' understanding, with the average post-test score reaching a score of 85. This activity contributes to efforts to create a safe and child-friendly environment at LKSA Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah JemberABSTRAKKasus kekerasan terhadap anak di Kota Jember pada tahun 2024 termasuk dalam peringkat yang signifikan. Sementara itu anak yang tinggal di panti asuhan beresiko mengalami kekerasan karena keterbatasan fasilitas yang ada. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pendampingan manajemen shelter berbasis komunitas untuk memberikan dukungan khusus anak korban kekerasan.  Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pengurus Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak (LKSA) Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah di Jember dalam menangani dan membina anak-anak yang menjadi korban kekerasan. Kegiatan pengabdian di lingkungan persyarikatan ini menggunakan Participatory Action Research (PAR). Melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan yang melibatkan lembaga-lembaga terkait, seperti UPTD PPA Jember dan Satgas PPKS Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, pengurus LKSA mendapat pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai pencegahan dan penanganan kekerasan terhadap anak. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta, dengan nilai rata-rata post-test mencapai skor 85. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada upaya menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan ramah anak di LKSA Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Jember.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk megetahui kelayakan dan mengetahui respon guru terhadap Modul Pembelajaran Literasi Finansial untuk Anak Usia Dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengmebangan dengan tujuan mengembangkan Modul Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). Jenis data yang menjadi sumber penelitian ini merupakan data kuantitatif dan data kualitatif. Indtrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah angket terbuka dan nagket tertutup. Mengusung pendekatan tematik-integratif berbasis bermain, modul ini memuat materi pengenalan uang, perbedaan kebutuhan dan keinginan, pentingnya menabung, serta nilai karakter seperti hemat, tanggung jawab, dan berbagi. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan skor 91,6 (kategori sangat baik), sedangkan uji coba menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak antusias dan mampu memahami konsep dasar literasi finansial. Guru juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap struktur modul yang aplikatif dan mendukung perencanaan pembelajaran. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul ini layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar di PAUD. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi literasi finansial dalam kurikulum serta pelatihan guru, agar pembiasaan finansial dapat dilakukan secara sistematis sejak usia dini.
