Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the assessment of students’ attitude of science subjects in several indicators. This type of research is quantitative research with inferential statistical data. This study involved two different schools, namely SMP 17 Batanghari Regency with a sample obtained by 140 students and SMP 3 Muaro Jambi with a sample of 145 students. The students’ attitudes were noticed in several indicators, namely the social implications of science, the adoption of science attitudes and the enjoyment of learning science. As the result, from the three indicators, the attitude of the SMP 3 Muaro Jambi students were dominantly in good category, whereas those of the students in Batanghari District were dominantly in quite good category. In conclusion, there were  differences between the two school students’ attitude toward natural science which was reinforced by the results of t tests that have been done.

Abstract

Physics lessons are classified as difficult subjects, so students need to do practical work to make it easier for them to understand the material concept. This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' science process skills and junior high school students creative thinking skills in magnetism. The method used in this study is mixed. This study used a sample of 40 people from class VIII SMP. The sampling technique is Simple Random Sampling. The research instruments used in this study were observation sheets, questionnaires, and interview sheets. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. Quantitative data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical tests and inferential statistics. This research results show that the percentage of students' science process skills in class VIII C is 70% in the good category. While in class VIII F 75% are in a Good category. Moreover, the percentage of students' creative thinking skills in class VIII C is 60% in the good category, while in class VIII F is 55.0% in the good category. This study concludes that there is a significant relationship between students' science process skills and students' creative thinking skills in class VIII SMP magnetism material. This research implies that it is helpful for teachers and prospective teachers to improve students' science processes and creative thinking skills. Moreover, this research can be used by teachers as a guide to evaluating students' science process skills and creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

This research is a literature study with descriptive qualitative research type with library research which seeks to describe the application of the syntax of problem solving learning models in the 2013 curriculum. In this literature study research the authors use various written sources such as articles, journals and relevant documents with the studies in this study. This study focuses on the application of problem solving learning model syntax. The results of the study show that the syntax of the problem solving learning model is not in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum, it can be seen from the syntax that has not been able to improve the social attitudes of students. The next interesting research to be developed as research is the development of a problem solving learning model syntax to improve the social attitudes of students.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yakni model pembelajaran problem solving sebagai suatu strategi yang diharapkan mampu meningkatkan sikap siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan menjadikan proses pembelajaran lebih bermakna bagi siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi literatur dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka yang mengkaji tentang implementasi sistem sosial model pembelajaran problem solving dalam upaya meningkatkan sikap siswa. Penelitian studi literatur ini bersumber dari artikel ilmiah, jurnal, dan dokumen penelitian relevan yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini. Fokus penelitian ini adalah implementasi sistem sosial model pembelajaran problem solving. Berdasarkan hasil dari studi literatur dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem sosial dari model pembelajaran problem solving yang telah diterapkan belum sepenuhnya memenuhi tuntutan dalam kurikulum 2013. Hal ini terlihat pada penelitian terdahulu bahwa sistem sosial model pembelajaran problem solving belum mengakomodasi perbaikan sikap sosial siswa. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan sebuah pengembangan terhadap sistem sosial model pembelajaran problem solving untuk meningkatkan sikap sosial siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi peserta didik di sekolah menegah Atas Negeri 8 Kota Jambi terhadap Pembelajaran Fisika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 80 peserta didik Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 8 Kota Jambi. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisoner sebanyak 11 pernyataan. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu statistik deskriptif. Hasil analisis yang diperolah sebesar 50% berkategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut sebagian di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 8 Kota Jambi peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi yang tergolong sedang terhadap Pembelajaran Fisika.
