Abstract

This study deals with family addressing male and female in Batak Toba Language. The aim of this study to analyse the addresse of Batak Toba people in their social life. This study used descriptive qualitative as a method of reserach. This study was analyse the result of interview of Batak Toba people. The result, there were tweenty male and female addresses that was used by Batak Toba people in family interaction. This adresse is used to show the level of satus and to show respect to the oldest and love to the youngest family member.

Abstract

This study deals with gender toxicity in language communication. The aim of this study is to describe toxic language that is accepted by male and female in circle communication. Descriptive qualitative is used as research method of this study. This study described the result of society language communication recorder. The result, there are two kinds of toxic language, toxic muscularity and toxic femininity language that was accepted by male and female in language communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Revitalisasi Legenda suku Karo ‘Pancur Kuta’ sebagai Bahan Ajar Kesusasteraan di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Prima Indonesia”. Penelitian ini diangkat bertujuan untuk mengetahui cerita asli Legenda suku Karo ‘Pancur Kuta’, mentransformasinya menjadi naskah drama, dan menjadikannya sebagai bahan ajar di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Prima Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara sistematis, faktual, dan akurat dengan menggunakan kata-kata atau kalimat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juni 2018 sampai dengan Mei 2019. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah data lisan berupa cerita rakyat ‘Pancur Kuta’ suku Karo. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah informan dari masyarakat suku Karo di Talun Kenas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif, yaitu reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Teknik validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teori dan sumber. Prosedur penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan peyusunan laporan. Hasil penelitian diketahui Legenda Suku Karo “Pancur Kuta” ini terbentuk karena peninggalan dari Keluarga Barus yang menemukan desa tersebut, yaitu sebuah pancuran. Pancuran tersebut dianggap masyarakat setempat sebagai pelindung desa dari bahaya-bahaya yang datang. Diketahui dari observasi pula bahwa apabila pancur tersebut harus dibersihkan atau akan terjadi bahaya di desa tersebut, maka akan keluar kura-kura dari pancur itu. Kura-kura tersebut juga akan datang ke rumah keturunan keluarga Barus yang menemukan Desa Talun Kenas itu. Bertitik tolak dari informasi ketika observasi awal, perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai legenda “Pancur Kuta”. Revitalisasi dilaksanakan dengan mentransformasi cerita menjadi naskah drama agar masyarakat benar-benar dapat mengetahui dan menggambarkan bagaimana asal legenda tersebut. Luaran utama dari penelitian ini adalah publikasi ilmiah jurnal nasional dan buku hasil penelitian berupa bahan ajar kesusasteraan.Kata Kunci: Revitalisasi; Legenda; Pancur Kuta; Bahan Ajar.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan gaya wacana, antologi cerpen Sampan Zulaiha karya Hasan Al-Banna. Data penelitian ini bersumber dari antologi cerpen Sampan Zulaiha karya Hasan Al-Banna, catatan lapangan hasil wawancara, dan silabus. Teknik cuplikan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik interaktif. Waktu penelitian ini selama tiga bulan, dimulai dari bulan September sampai bulan November 2018. Dari penelitian ini diketahui, hasil penelitian yang diperoleh gaya wacana didominasi dengan gaya wacana campur kode sebesar 40%. Kata kunci: stilistika, cerpen, Sampan Zulaiha

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the improving students English vocabulary mastery by using two stay two stray. This study was conducted by applying classroom action research in two cycles in six meetings. The population was all the seventh grade students of SMP Abdi Negara Binjai and the sample was 32. The researcher conducted the cycle I and cycle II and each cycle had vocabulary test. The number of test was 20 items. The data took from the test and analyzing by quantitative and qualitative data. The total score from the preliminary score was 2075 and the mean was 64.84 and then cycle I the total score was 22.65 and the mean was 70.78 and the cycle II the score was 2525 and the mean was 78.90 from the score, it means that two stay two stray technique could improved students vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe an applied of reward and punishment in the learning process. The objectives of the study were to describe the application of reward and punishment in learning English at eight grades SMP Swasta Dharma Pancasila Medan, to describe students' responses to the implementation of rewards and punishments in learning English at eight grades SMP Swasta Dharma Pancasila Medan. This study used descriptive qualitative research design. The data of this study was result of observation and questionnaire. The source of the data was eight grade students at SMP Swasta Dharma Pancasila Medan. The researcher is the key instrument of this research and questionnaire sheet as supporting instrument. The results of the study, there were some kinds of reward and punishment that were applied by teacher in the classroom, such as giving several gift, giving applause, giving expressions, and giving points from the teacher to students (reward), and giving warning expressions, singing in front of the class, and squatting (punishment).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the challenges that seniors in high school encountered when responding to reading comprehension questions on the UTBK exam. This study employed a qualitative methodology. Senior high school students who have taken the UTBK test were the subjects of this study. This research was conducted in SMAS Pangeran Antasari Medan, in class XII IPA, there are 32 students in it. According to the study's findings, high school students' lack of interest in reading made them bored when reading the text in front of them. It was also difficult for them to decipher the meaning of the text because they lacked the necessary vocabulary and didn't practice answering questions about reading comprehension. As a result, they believed that the UTBK test was too difficult for them. So this research, senior high school students must increase their practice of reading comprehension questions both at home and in class, as well as their interest in reading and vocabulary, to overcome these challenges. This will make it simpler for them to solve problems in the reading comprehension section. Keywords: reading comprehension, UTBK

Abstract

This research was conducted to identify the various types of errors made in English descriptive texts written by tenth graders at Free Methodist Private High School Medan during the 2022-2023 academic year. This research was conducted on 36 students who became the focus of the research. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Research is conducted offline. Written test-based data collection method. The researcher checked the writing errors of the descriptive texts made by the students. This study concentrates on the categorization of writing errors made by students. The Surface Strategy Taxonomy analysis of the findings revealed 30 inaccuracies in student-submitted descriptive texts. There were 9 addition errors with a total of 30%, 16 errors of omission with a total of 54%, 5 misformation errors with a total of 16%, and 0 ordering errors with a total of 0%. The majority of errors, or 15 out of 30, are spelling (Spelling) errors, which are classed as errors within omission errors. In conclusion, the researchers found 30 errors in the descriptive text written by class X IPS 1 SMA Medan Free Methodis.

Abstract

This research investigated the ability of children to pronounce the capital letter in words at 2-3 years at Kampung Lalang. Toddlers at the age of 2 years and up to 3 years would usually be able to say 50 words or more although some letters will still be difficult for them to pronounce. Vocabulary may grow rapidly but pronunciation may not keep up. There would be pronunciations that were difficult for them to pronounce even though they know what they were referring to. Only a few words and letters that they were able to pronounce and pronounce. The research aimed to find out the ability of children to pronounce the capital letter in words at 2-3 years at Kampung Lalang. The research was conducted in the house of parents that have the regional Kampung Lalang. This research was conducted by using Qualitative Descriptive methods. The instruments for collecting data were observation, interview, and oral-written documentation. The data analysis was the result of research in the house of parents that have the regional Kampung Lalang. After analyzing the folklore, the researcher found some capital letters that able to produced by the children and their ability to pronounce the capital letter in words. The letters were able to be pronounced by the children are A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. And the letters that were not able to be pronounced by the children are R and S. Keywords: Capital letter, Pronounce, The ability, Children.
