Abstract

Certain regions in Indonesia face challenges related to inadequate electricity supply. To address this, it is essential to model and simulate potential solutions before implementation. This study focuses on optimizing electricity provision to resolve a 4 MW deficit in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, particularly at night, through the development of a communal Solar Power Plant. PVsyst software is used for analysis to determine the most economical and optimal solar system configuration. The Oelnasi site, selected for its solar radiation levels, land availability, and proximity to the grid, will house 17,411 solar panels covering 28,360 m², with 196 inverters. The system will generate 4.005 kWp of PV power, with a maximum DC power of 3.583 kWDC, and an AC power of 2.940 kWAC. Simulation results indicate that the Oelnasi Solar Power Plant can supply stable nighttime electricity and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 7,200 tons annually.

Abstract

The increasing need for mobile device charging, especially in outdoor and remote areas, presents challenges due to limited access to power sources. This issue is particularly relevant for individuals who travel frequently, such as motorcycle taxi drivers. To address this issue, a foldable solar panel-based portable power bank has been developed, which is designed to efficiently convert solar energy into electrical power to charge smartphones. Laboratory-scale tests show that the device can charge a smartphone from 20% to 100% within four hours under peak sunlight conditions, and from 20% to 75% under lower sunlight. To further improve its usability, future development should increase the energy storage capacity, improve efficiency under different sunlight conditions, add weather resistance, and expand compatibility with other devices, making it more suitable for outdoor and travel applications.

Abstract

This community engagement explores the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data visualization in the context of education through an interactive workshop. The workshop aims to enhance the capacity of high school teachers in Jakarta to utilize technology for data analysis using applications like Tableau. Participants engage in hands-on practice with four case studies: analysis of student performance by gender, the influence of parental education on student outcomes, evaluation of the effectiveness of exam preparation courses, and analysis of the impact of lunch programs on student achievement. Results indicate a significant improvement in participants' understanding and skills in using data to support evidence-based decision-making in educational settings.

Abstract

There are several problems in marketing the products of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in this digital era. Problems such as limited access to technology and lack of knowledge and expertise in managing digital platforms or tools. To overcome these problems, Community Service (PKM) activities are carried out. This PKM is focused on improving marketing skills for MSME players in Legok Village, Tangerang, Banten by Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). Specifically, this solution is in the form of training with the theme of digital marketing management, market trend analysis, customer preferences, and strategies to increase customer interaction on e-commerce platforms and social media. The materials in this PKM activity are market trend analysis and the use of digital marketing tools where there are 19 participants from different MSME players. The results of this training showed that 100% of participants stated that the training delivered provided new insights or ideas to improve their business, especially in terms of marketing management. Thus, MSMEs in Legok Village are expected to be able to compete better in the digital market, which in turn can encourage local and national economic growth.

Abstract

This research aims to apply an artificial intelligence (AI) system to control the position of photovoltaic (PV) panels to maximize the use of solar energy using the solar tracker. The implementation of AI algorithms to achieve optimal panel orientation, considering factors such as sunlight intensity and sun position is also discussed. The simulation results using matrix laboratory (MATLAB) Simulink can be observed on the scope, displaying the position control graph of the solar panel from sunrise to sunset. By employing proportional integral derivative (PID) control, the error is likely to be minimal, ensuring that the panel will continue to follow the sun until it sets at the maximum point of 4:00 PM. After that, the panel can be adjusted back or reset to the initial position at 6:00 AM for the following day. In a full-day simulation, the solar panel will follow the sun's movement from sunset to sunrise. At the basic level, sunrise occurs in the first hour at position 1.0, which is 6:00 AM in the minimum point at the bottom left corner of the curve, and sunset occurs in the afternoon at position 5.25, which is 4:00 PM at the maximum point in the top right corner of the curve.

Abstract

Academic consultation is a consultation activity between academic supervisors and students in the study and helps solve problems that accept students. The goal is that students who can complete their studies according to their interests and abilities. The implementation of academic consultation is regulated by each study program / faculty / university. The current academic guidance process at Multimedia Nusantara University does not control the students being guided. In addition, the current process of distributing student assistance is done manually by the head and vice of the study program. They divide the average number of students by the number of lecturers. With the random number algorithm, pseudo random number generator will help the division of students with automatic divide. The pseudo random number generator algorithm was chosen because it has the advantage of providing initial value of the process that is produced quickly, simply and saves storage. The design of this online academic consultation application will assist in the academic monitoring process anytime and anywhere. This application developed using flutter and can be use by students and supervisor. The result from this research was application successfully developed and received a score of 88 % for UEQ Questionare, which is categorized as excellent.

Abstract

The use of infrared radiation as a home security system is one of the technology improvisations that utilize physics phenomena. This research focuses on the designing of simple control systems based on Arduino Uno and GP2Y0A21YK0F infrared sensors along with other components.  The working principle of this system starts when the IR sensor detects moving objects in the vicinity of the house in which infrared radiation is reflected and this gives outputs in the form of distance value from the display as well as movement and sound from servo to inform the occupants of the object’s whereabouts. Data obtained from the display system showed an approximation of the real distance value. Therefore, occupants can know the distance of the moving object.
