Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has been going on since March 2020 has spread rapidly, with high mortality In Indonesia. Central Java, Covid-19 remains a disease with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 4.4% and is above Indonesia’s CFR of 3.0%. In Magelang itself,  positive cases of Covid-19 in 2020 reached 4418 and were among the top 3 cases in Central Java Province. This study’s purpose was to spatially describe the distribution of new cases of Covid-19 in terms of population density and elevation of the sub-district area in Magelang. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with ecological studies using a spatial approach. The results showed that the distribution of new cases of Covid-19 has a unique pattern in mapping based on population density and altitude. Some of the new distribution cases showed a distribution pattern following the regional elevation and almost entirely following the pattern of population density. The increase of Covid-19 tends to be higher in areas with high-density populations and low-altitude regions. This study concludes that the distribution pattern of new Covid-19 cases is influenced by population density and the area’s height during the peak period of new Covid-19 cases in 2020 at Magelang.

Abstract

Indonesia is the second largest producer of plastic waste in the world after China, one source of waste is from the tourism sector such as in the Borobudur Temple Area, Central Java. The problem of low awareness and gender norms that are still closely embedded in Indonesian society are inhibiting factors in modern approaches to waste management, thereby impacting the burden on local governments in waste management. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of gender on concern for waste. Methods: Cross-sectional deskriptif survey study in the Borobudur sub-district area of 374 respondents representing the X generation or millennial generation and Z generation. This study shows that the difference in the average value (mean) of the variabels of knowledge, concern, perception, millennial PKK actions, and external faktors regarding institutions is slightly higher in the female group, namely 0.5005, 0.2207, 0.1452, 0 .8338, and 0.1046. But, individual perceptions of concern for community groups are slightly higher in the male group, namely 0.0659. This study shows that concern for waste, the female group's average value of each variable is slightly higher than the male group, and only one variable, namely external factors, individual perceptions of concern for community groups is slightly lower.

Abstract

Public Health is the resultant from an balance of individual, agent, and environment problems. Individual knowledge and the ability to adapt to the environment vary greatly. The individual awareness and sensibility towards surroundings will contribute to the public health status. Environmental factor in the raining season with high intensity of rainfall cause some risks such as flood. It can be a disaster and destroy the facilities in the area. This can be a transmission media, a new habitat of insects for certain disease, one of them is Leptospirosis. The condition after flood with low level of clean water facilities can make these bacteria live and reproduce, with warm temperatures, neutral pH of water, humidity and also high rainfall. Leptospirosis cases in Indonesia are sufficiently high which in 2019, there are 845 cases with mortality rate for 16.26%. Some factors may affect the number of the case. This research is aimed to know the factors related to the preventive behavior of leptospirosis. It was held in Public Health Center Berbah Yogyakarta. The method of research is quantitative research with design survey method, quasi experiment. The population is the clients visiting to Public Health Center Berbah, with the average number of clients coming are 200 clients/day. The sample is taken by accidental sampling to the clients with the number of daily visits (50 persons). The result shows, that of five analyzed factors, knowledge is the factor related to the preventive behavior of leptospirosis.

Abstract

Background: Optimal growth and development will produce qualified human resources. Achieving optimal growth and development requires support from various sectors, including parents, the community, and the government. This study aimed to determine the knowledge and awareness of mothers and the community regarding child growth and development in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java.Method: This qualitative study was conducted in Wonosobo, Central Java, in 2019. Data were collected using FGD with mothers of under-two children and cadres (two groups) and interviews with health workers and related stakeholders (10 informants). The data collected was then analyzed using thematic analysis.Result: The results showed that several themes related to child growth and development were identified, namely knowledge about child growth, development, stunting, and children’s growth and development problems (signs, causes, and prevention). Mothers and the community have the proper knowledge about child growth and development. However, there is still a low awareness of when a child needs special attention due to growth and development problems in mothers’ groups. Within the mothers’ group, the knowledge of growth and development mostly comes from their prior experience. Meanwhile, most of the community’s knowledge about child growth and development has been in line with health indicators. Bringing existing programs closer to the mothers could be an effort to increase knowledge and awareness about child growth and development.

Abstract

As we get older, changes arise as a result of the aging process, one of which is in the cardiovascular system, which causes elderly people to tend to experience increased blood pressure and suffer from hypertension. One of the complementary therapies that is useful in preventing and reducing cardiovascular disease by lowering blood pressure is dry cupping therapy. This research uses a quantitative experimental research design using a pre-experimental design (one group pretest and posttest). In this group, before being given treatment or given an observation sheet (pretest), the respondent's blood pressure was measured. The population in this study were all elderly people at UPT RPS Budhi Dharma Yogyakarta Elderly, totaling 61 people. The sample obtained was 26 people using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the blood pressure (systole) of the elderly before dry cupping therapy, the average was 154.85 ± 13,187 mmHg and (diastole) 88.5 ± 1,171 mmHg. The average blood pressure (systole) of the elderly after being given dry cupping therapy was 129.12 ± 7,804 mmHg and (diastole) 75.42 ± 6,488 mmHg. So with this, we get a p value of 0.000 for systolic blood pressure and 0.000 for diastolic blood pressure. There is a relationship between dry cupping therapy and blood pressure in the elderly at UPT RPS Budhi Dharma Yogyakarta Elderly.
