Abstract

The success of a broiler chicken business is determined by the harvest results obtained. A good cage and chicken care system can maximize the harvest that will be obtained. The ideal chicken coop is one that has air quality, temperature and humidity that comply with the provisions. Detecting levels of ammonia gas and other gases that are harmful to chickens can be done using an air quality detector. However, what is becoming an obstacle for breeders is that the price of the detector equipment is quite expensive. So a more economical and efficient ammonia gas detection system is needed. In this research, a system for detecting temperature, humidity and ammonia gas levels was created which can be monitored remotely. This research starts from analysis, design, implementation and continues with evaluation. From the research results it was found that the control system can work well, if the ammonia gas level is high then the blower will be ON, and if the ammonia gas has reached the ideal value then the blower will be Off. And when the cage temperature is lower than specified, the incandescent lamp will be on, and vice versa. Apart from that, measured parameters can be displayed on the IoT (Internet of Things) system so that it can increase the efficiency of farmer performance.

Abstract

Tobacco is an important commodity for the economy and livelihoods of farmers in Indonesia. Factors that influence the success of tobacco cultivation include climate, agricultural practices, and technology. East Java Province, as a major producer, contributed 49.04% of total national production in 2020. The quality of tobacco produced affects farmers' income and market prices, with global economic dynamics also influencing. The tobacco production process involves several steps, including classification, processing, and marketing. The implementation of this community service focuses on the processing process, namely Nganjang (arranging chopped tobacco leaves on the rigen). The development was carried out with an automatic nganjang machine to increase the efficiency of the tobacco leaf processing process in Jatiguwi Village, Malang Regency. A field survey was conducted to understand the needs of partners, namely KUB Makmur Barokah. Previous partners experienced obstacles in the manual nganjang process, namely the human resources required were quite a lot while regeneration was almost non-existent. So a machine is needed that is designed to be able to speed up the process and reduce the need for labor. The results of the Community Service activities show that the nganjang machine can work well and get a positive response from partners.

Abstract

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are critical drivers of economic growth, especially in developing nations like Indonesia. This study focuses on the specific case of Kediri Residency, using 2018 data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of East Java Province to uncover insights for sustainable local economic development. Our methodology involved data acquisition, parsing, mining, filtering, and representation/ interaction. This process yielded a dataset of 168 data points, providing a nuanced view of MSMEs in Kediri Residency. Our analysis highlighted significant trends. Kediri Regency, for example, excelled in the Food and Beverage Industry (270 MSMEs) and Wood Industry (260 MSMEs). Blitar Regency thrived in the Wood Industry (235 MSMEs) and the Food and Beverage Industry (230 MSMEs). Tulungagung Regency showed strength in the Wood Industry (219 MSMEs). These findings have strategic implications for local economic development, such as sectoral strengthening, enhancing competitiveness, forming business clusters, and tailoring policies to MSMEs' unique needs. Comparing Kediri City to Kediri Regency and Blitar City to Blitar Regency revealed disparities and opportunities, highlighting the role of local policies and infrastructure in MSME development. In conclusion, our research provides actionable insights to formulate policies, develop infrastructure, improve financing access, and enhance skills training programs. These actions will catalyze MSME growth, promoting regional economic development and stability.

Abstract

Economic development is essential for enhancing community welfare, particularly in Kiping Village, Tulungagung Regency, East Java, where the majority of residents rely on blacksmithing. This traditional industry primarily produces agricultural tools like knives, sickles, and machetes using simple and conventional methods. However, the quality of these products often falls short in a competitive market increasingly dominated by manufactured alternatives. To revitalize the Blacksmith Small and Medium Industry (IKM) in Kiping, it is crucial to adopt a Smart Economy strategy that emphasizes entrepreneurship and innovation. Implementing modern techniques, such as automatic electroplating chrome technology, can significantly improve product quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This enhancement will not only help local blacksmiths compete with mass-produced items but also increase the perceived value of their products. Moreover, the current marketing practices, which rely heavily on collectors, limit the artisans' reach and profit margins. By integrating digital marketing strategies, blacksmiths can directly connect with consumers, expanding their market and securing better prices for their goods. This shift towards a more sustainable and resilient business model will empower local craftsmen, ensuring that they receive fair compensation for their work. Ultimately, fostering innovation and improving marketing strategies will not only enhance the competitiveness of Kiping’s blacksmiths but also contribute to the broader goal of local economic development, uplifting the community and securing a sustainable livelihood for its residents.
