Abstract

Poros bekerja dengan menerima beban berupa lentur, tarikan, tekan dan puntiran. Berdasarkan pembebanannya poros dibedakan dalam beberapa macam, diantaranya poros transmisi, gandar, poros spindel. Pada poros transmisi biasa dikenal dengan sebutan shaft. Shaft akan mengalami beban puntir berulang, beban lentur ataupun keduanya. Pada shaft daya ditransmisikan melalui pulley. didapatkan beberapa nilai diantaranya ialah, safety factor, tegangan geser maksimum, dan von mises sebelum terjadi kegagalan pada momen torsi sebesar 1600 Nm. dan Semakin tinggi momen torsi yang diberikan maka nilai safety factor yang dihasilkan semakin rendah yaitu sebesar 0,74 dimana nilai awal sebesar 1,49, hal ini menjelaskan bahwa beban torsi yang diterima akan mempengaruhi kegagalan poros tersebut.

Abstract

Welding is a combining method of two materials by using thermal energy. It was divided into several groups including the classification of the liquid, press and soldering. Arc welding is the most commonly used in every time, such as welding with consumable and not consumable electrodes. Two types of arc welding have deficiency and excess, respectively; combining both types of arc welding is needed to cover each other’s excess. The method in this research was combining of welding GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and SMAW (Shield Metal Arc Welding) with variation in Root Pass and Cover Pass position. The current of GTAW with 100A, 130A, 160A, and SMAW with 65A, 80A, and 95A were used in this research. ASTM A 36 was used as the material. The plat thickness was 7mm and single V groove 600. Combining the welding GTAW-GTAW between 100A and 100A for the first and second layer has the highest tensile strength, and the lowest tensile strength was in combination of welding between GTAW-SMAW with 65A and 100A.Keywords: Tensile strength, GTAW, SMAW, two layers and ASTM A 36

Abstract

In 2013, The Ministry of Forestry revealed that the need for wood as material for construction was always increasing. In order to find the innovations regarding timber structure, this study was conducted to discover the flexural strength of gelam and sengon based on SNI 03-3959-1995. Also, specimens which 50 mm in depth, 50 mm in height and 760 mm in length were tested using two point loading method based on ASTM D-198. This research showed that the average flexural strength of gelam is 100.13 Mpa which is greater than sengon (82.62 Mpa). Furthermore, as simple truss structure, simulation indicated that gelam and sengon are still capable in resisting moment generated from service load.

Abstract

Pendidikan adalah modal utama bagi suatu bangsa dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas sumberdaya manusia yang dimilikinya. Sumberdaya manusia yang berkualitas akan mampu mengelola sumber daya alam dan memberi layanan secara efektif dan efisien untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Maka dari itu, titik sentral pembangunan adalah pemberdayaan sumber daya manusia termasuk tenaga kerja, baik sebagai sasaran pembangunan maupun sebagai pelaku pembangunan. Balikpapan merupakan kawasan industri yang dimana di desa Karang Joang tersebut merupakan daerah yang sedang berkembang. Namun sejauh ini, kurangnya pendidikan dan belum ada tindakan yang nyata baik dari pemerintah maupun tokoh masyarakat dan pengusaha. Akibatnya kebanyakan orderan yang diminta oleh para pengembang beralih pada sekelompok orang saja. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, maka lembaga pelatihan dan pengembangan produktifitas sumber daya manusia yang berlokasi di desa Karang Joang mencoba untuk memfasilitasi kelompok produktif ini agar bisa lebih produktif dan berguna bagi upaya memperbaiki ekonomi keluarga, salah satunya adalah dengan jalan memberikan pelatihan tentang manajemen dan repair ban  layak pakai.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of variations of the current with combining two welding techniques SMAW and FCAW in double v-groove against the hardness and microstructure of the dissimilar material of JIS G3101-SS400 and ASTM A36. JIS G3101 SS400 and ASTM A36 each with a thickness of 10 mm were used as the materials. The combination of SMAW welding with E7018 electrodes and FCAW with E71T-1 were used as the welding techniques. The current used in SMAW welding were 60 A, 75 A, and 90 A. While in FCAW welding the current used were 190 A, 205 A, and 220 A. Hardness and microstructure tests were carried out on each sample. The results of the study showed that the current in welding process affect the hardness value and microstructure of material. The higher the welding current, the value of hardness of the material going to decrease and vice versa. The highest hardness values in SMAW and FCAW welding are at currents of 60 A and 190 A. Then the current in the welding process also affect the microstructure produced in the weld and HAZ. The formed microstructure containing pearlite and ferrite. The higher welding current, the percentage of pearlite produced increase and the percentage of ferrite decrease.

Abstract

Welding is a metal joining process with filler or without filler. The welding method is also used to thicken the surface of the material or hardfacing. Hardfacing is a welding process with the aim of improving mechanical properties and is used on worn components by using SMAW welding, SMAW welding is used because it is relatively inexpensive and flexible. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hardfacing with SMAW welding direction variations on the tensile strength and microstructure of ASTM A36 steel material. The welding directions are horizontal, vertical and diagonal. This study used ASTM A 36 steel with a thickness of 5 mm. The welding electrode was E7018 with a diameter of 3.2 mm and a current of 130 A. After conducting this research, the highest average tensile strength value was found in the vertical direction, which was 474.74 N/mm2. The average value of the tensile strength in the diagonal direction is 446.715 N/mm2. The average horizontal tensile strength value is 420.785 N/mm2.

Abstract

In this paper, the combination of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) welding methods are used in a double V groove SS304 10 mm thick plate. Welding current variation of 110A SMAW/120A GTAW, 100A SMAW/130A GTAW, and 90A SMAW/140A GTAW was used to observe the effect of the welding current variation on the tensile strength and microstructure. Tensile test and metallography test were performed to observe the phenomenon. ImageJ software was used for microstructure analysis. The welding current variation resulted in higher tensile strength with the highest current on GTAW method, while a more dispersed and lathy ferrite structure was observed on the microstructure.

Abstract

This research uses shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) welding method combined with flux core art welding (FCAW) welding method using ASTM A36 10 mm steel material and using double V seam. Then the electrode used in this study is for SMAW E7018 welding. , while for FCAW E71T1 welding. The current variations used are SMAW 60A, 75A, 90A and FCAW 190A, 205A, 220A. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal current that produces the highest tensile and impact strength and differences in microstructure in the weld metal area. From the results of this study, the highest tensile and impact strengths were at 90A SMAW and 220A FCAW with a tensile strength of 526.96 N/mm and an impact strength of 1.2044 J/mm2. Then the microstructure formed is Grain Boundry Ferrite (GBF), Pearlite (P), Arcicular Ferrite (AF), Ferrite (F). Where the percentage of SMAW weld metal is 72.1% Ferrite and 27.9% Pearlite, while in FCAW weld metal it is 75.63% Ferrite and 24.37% Pearlite.

Abstract

  In this study, Karamunting twig extract (Rhodomystus tementosa) was used as a natural inhibitor on AISI 1040 steel. Based on the results of functional group analysis, it was confirmed that the compounds found in Karamunting twig extract are tannins and flavonoids. Electrochemical analysis using the potentiodynamic method showed the lowest corrosion rate at 300 ppm inhibitor concentration, with a corrosion rate of 2.881 mm/yr with an inhibition efficiency of 76.732%. Furthermore, the EIS test showed the highest inhibition efficiency at a concentration of 300 ppm, with a value of 66.720%.

Abstract

Desa Sebakung di Kabupaten Pasir, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur memiliki luas wilayah sekitar 3,94 km² dengan jumlah penduduk sekitar 1.415 jiwa. Salah satu permasalahan di desa Sebakung adalah rendahnya minat baca masyarakat yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya akses terhadap bahan bacaan yang memadai dan minimnya kesadaran dan budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat desa Sebakung. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan minat baca di desa Sebakung, maka dilakukan pengembangan taman bacaan desa melalui beberapa tahap. Pada tahap persiapan dilakukan dengan melakukan survey dan observasi ke Desa Sebakung. Pada tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan beberapa kegiatan seperti mempersiapkan peralatan untuk pengembangan taman bacaan, penerapan teknologi tepat guna (TTG), dan melakukan sosialisasi dan kampanye untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan budaya membaca di Desa Sebakung. Selanjutnya, tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan menganalisis minat baca anak-anak melalui jumlah kunjungan ke taman bacaan selama 12 minggu dan diperoleh grafik yang stabil. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan minat baca gen-z di Desa Sebakung melalui program ini.
