Abstract

This study aims to identify errors and describe the factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving function-limit questions based on self-regulated learning. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Indramayu 2021/2022. Subjects were identified in this study using the purposive sample technique. Data collection techniques used self-regulated learning questionnaires, function limit tests, and interviews. They were taken based on the subject of the questionnaire results. Based on the questionnaire results, it was divided into three categories: high, medium, and low. The results of this study revealed various kinds of errors, namely: factual errors that students did not write down symbol boundaries; operation error, incorrect operation of numbers; conceptual error, students do not understand limit rules; principle error, students determining the form of a group. Factors that cause errors are that students need help understanding the concept and are inappropriate when answering questions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' difficulties in solve trigonometry problem solving according Polya's steps. Determining research subjects by giving students difficulty test questions using Polya steps to 36 students of class X MIPA 8 SMAN 1 Indramayu. From these results, 6 subjects were selected purposively as a sample with subjects falling into the high, medium and low score categories. The instruments used were diagnostic tests of students' difficulties in solving trigonometric problems using Polya's problem solving and interviews. The data analyzing technic in the research started with collecting information in the fields, interviews, and documentations which are collected by coding. By considering into account the results obtained from this study, the difficulty of students in handling problem solving of trigonometry problems according to Polya's steps owned by students of class X MIPA 8 SMA Negeri 1 Indramayu is able to solve a problem using Polya's steps. When students who have high test scores will have little difficulty learning because the subject can explain and solve problems well and there are no difficulties. While it is different when students who have low scores feel confused, difficult, wrong in solving a problem. In fact, in this study, the highest score and the lowest score both answered the questions correctly, the only difference was the student's accuracy and overestimation, causing the student to get a low score. The research results show that the students with high score category had less difficulty than students with low score categories. Therefore, teachers must be more careful in paying attention to students and teachers must also explain Polya's stages gradually without rushing. It is expected that students can understand Polya's stages as a whole so as to reduce student learning difficulties.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis dan minat belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembagan 4-D. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan atlast-I, uji aiken v, dan Uji t satu sampel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian, proses pengembangan media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education, hasil uji validasi menunjukkan bahwa semua butir dinyatakan valid, rerata dari semua butir adalah 0,88, nilai V 0,8 artinya sangat valid. Hal tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education layak untuk digunakan. Berdasarkan uji efektivitas media melalui tes kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa menggunakan uji t satu sampel diperoleh tobs = 1,550 dan tk = 0,182. Karena tobs tk artinya media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada materi barisan aritmatika. Selanjutnya uji efektivitas media melalui angket minat belajar siswa menggunakan uji t satu sampel diperoleh tobs = 1,675 dan tk = 0,155. Karena tobs tk artinya media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada materi barisan aritmatika. Sehingga pengembangan media game monopoli berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis dan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

The background of this research is the importance of mathematics in daily life and the difficulties experienced by students in understanding mathematical concepts, especially division. This study aims to analyze the difficulties of students in solving integer division using the porogapit method in grade IV of SD Negeri Legok II, Indramayu Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects were 6 people who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative data analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results showed that students experienced difficulties in three main aspects: understanding problems, performing division calculation operations, and solving problems. Most students have difficulty in the division calculation operation even though they already understand the porogapit method. This difficulty has an impact on the understanding and application of mathematical concepts in daily life. This research provides recommendations for improving learning methods that can improve students' understanding and ability in integer division
