Abstract

Effective communication training for Prolanis health workers is essential to improve the quality of interactions between health workers and patients. Good communication can influence patients' adherence to medication, understanding of their health condition, and following the chronic disease management program with discipline. In addition, Geographic Information System (GIS) training is becoming increasingly relevant in the context of Prolanis. By utilizing GIS, health workers can more effectively map the distribution of chronic diseases in Semarang Regency. This mapping aids in evidence-based decision-making, allowing health resources to be allocated more efficiently. GIS enables the identification of areas with high disease prevalence, so that interventions can be focused on areas that require more attention. It also supports preventive efforts to curb the increase in chronic disease cases. The implementation of Effective Communication and Geographic Information System (GIS) training for Prolanis health workers in Semarang Regency has several strategic objectives, both in the context of increasing the competence of health workers, strengthening the health service system, and contributing to the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, the Main Performance Indicators (KPI) of higher education, and the focus of community service.

Abstract

Digitization refers to the process of converting paper-based medical records into electronic format. At Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND), implementation still faces challenges, as some documents are still in manual format. This study employed descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted through interviews and observations of outpatient registration staff and digitalization staff who digitized electronic outpatient documents. Observations regarding the age characteristics of staff within the productive age group revealed that four respondents (3 men and 1 woman) had worked for 1 year and 5 years, respectively, and had never received training related to the digitization of electronic medical records. The staff learned about this by being taught how to use it by a third party until they understood how to use the system. The system used is the RSND Electronic Medical Record, but some users did not yet understand the application's contents. In-depth statistical analysis of the relationship between outpatient staff knowledge and the implementation of electronic document digitization was not conducted in this study. Strengthening staff competency through structured training and the development of standard operating procedures is crucial to optimize EMR digitization at RSND.

Abstract

Central Java Province continues to hold the third-highest MMR in Indonesia as of 2023. Caesarean section births are maternal services associated with rates of maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing Caesarean section births in the province of Central Java. The 2017 Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) provided the data used in this investigation. 1,060 data were gathered after sorting, and total sampling was employed. SPSS was used to analyze the data, utilizing the frequency distribution for univariate analysis and the Pearson Product Moment test for bivariate analysis. Mothers between the ages of 26 and 28 who have two children, have not given birth in the past year, have a middle-class income, have no problems during childbirth, have neither high blood pressure nor low blood pressure, and whose kids are not breech are the data mode based on study data. Every circumstance influences the decision to use a caesarean section as a delivery procedure. The family's financial situation has the biggest impact on the variable of caesarean delivery.

Abstract

Manual outpatient registration often leads to long queues, especially during the first 105 minutes after the service opens, causing patients to experience waiting times that exceed the standard (±8.8 minutes per patient compared to the 5–7-minute standard). Puskesmas Lerep has provided an online registration service through the Mobile JKN application since 2024. However, the utilization of this online service remains suboptimal, as most patients continue to register manually, and registration waiting times are still above the minimum service standard. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the online registration system for outpatient services using the 5M approach (Man, Material, Method, Machine, and Money). A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Data were collected through interviews and observations conducted at Puskesmas Lerep, Semarang Regency, in August 2025. The results indicate that the technical implementation of the online registration system is functioning well and there are no complaints regarding the system’s interface. However, elderly patients are unable to operate the Mobile JKN application, leading them to prefer registering directly at the puskesmas. The Man aspect worked adequately as staff could operate the system well and maintain smooth inter-unit communication. The Material aspect was considered sufficient, although small technical issues such as manual data updates remained. The Method aspect was consistently applied according to regulations. The Machine aspect functioned stably with minimal problems such as occasional internet connection disruptions. Meanwhile, the Money aspect still depended on funding submissions to the Health Office. Overall, the online registration system at Lerep Primary Healthcare improved service efficiency but required enhancements in outreach and equipment maintenance. Abstract

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) represents an increasing public health challenge in Indonesia, placing considerable pressure on the country healthcare infrastructure. The Prolanis program, a nationwide initiative for managing chronic diseases, incorporates telemedicine to encourage preventive practices among patients with T2DM. Objective: This research sought to investigate the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions regarding telemedicine and preventive behaviors for T2DM among participants in the Prolanis program in Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative study was carried out involving 157 Prolanis participants (including 100 individuals diagnosed with T2DM) in Semarang. Data collection employed validated questionnaires designed to evaluate knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of telemedicine in connection with T2DM preventive behaviors. Associations between these factors and preventive behaviors were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: Approximately  47.1% of respondents demonstrated a good level of knowledge about T2DM. Attitudes toward telemedicine within the Prolanis program remained predominantly negative (59.0%), whereas 68.3% exhibited positive perceptions of telemedicine. No statistically significant associations were identified between knowledge (p=0.281), attitudes (p=0.162), or perceptions (p=0.229) of telemedicine and T2DM preventive behaviors among the participants. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of telemedicine do not significantly affect preventive behaviors related to T2DM. These results indicate that existing telemedicine approaches in the Prolanis program may need improvement, potentially through customized educational efforts or improved user engagement strategies, to better support T2DM prevention.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve adolescent girls’ knowledge of balanced nutrition, anemia prevention, reproductive health, and stunting prevention. The program was conducted at Mega Islamic Boarding High School in Semarang City and involved 47 female students. The intervention was implemented through socialization sessions and interactive educational methods. Program evaluation employed a pre-test and post-test design, with data analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results indicate an average increase in knowledge scores of 11.21%, with a statistically significant difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention scores (p < 0.05). Educational activities focusing on nutrition, reproductive health, and stunting prevention for adolescent girls have important implications for strengthening the role of schools in promoting adolescent health. The structured boarding school environment positions schools as strategic settings for fostering sustainable health behaviors. Therefore, it is recommended that health education activities be integrated into extracurricular programs or dormitory guidance and supported by the establishment of adolescent health teams or student health cadres as agents of change through a peer education approach. Furthermore, sustained partnerships with community health centers and universities should be strengthened to support mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability, ensuring that initiatives to improve adolescent girls’ health literacy contribute meaningfully to the long-term prevention of stunting.
