Abstract

Jalan Pasir Putih merupakan jalur lintas Sumatera yang berada di Kabupaten Kampar. Kepadatan lalu lintas pada ruas jalan ini sanggat tinggi, kehadiran kendaraan berat dapat menimbulkan banyak masalah seperti kemacetan, kecelakaan dan kerusakan pada lapisan perkerasan jalan. Kondisi Jalan Pasir Putih mengalami kerusakan seperti lubang, retak, bergelombang, agregat licin, alur bekas roda kendaraan dan pelepasan butiran. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan tidak lancarnya lalu lintas, keamanan dan kenyamanan pengedara menjadi terganggu, dan juga rawan terjadinya kecelakaan. Diperlukan pemeliharaan ruas jalan seperti perawatan dan perbaikan agar jalan dapat berfungsi melayani optimal sebagai mana mestinya. Pemilihan bentuk pemeliharaan jalan yang tepat dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan penilaian terhadap kondisi jalan dengan menggunakan metode Surface Distress Index (SDI). Tujuan penulisan ini adalah memperoleh nilai tingkat kerusakan jalan menggunakan metode surface Distress Index (SDI) serta dapat menentukan tipe penanganan nya berdasarkan tingkat kerusakannya. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu bahwa kondisi ruas jalan masih baik dan diperlukan pemeliharan rutin.

Abstract

According to BPS Pekanbaru City Year 2023, the urbanization rate of 2,99% per year increases the volume of motor vehicles, especially at Panam Intersection which is the meeting point of Jl. Hr. Soebrantas, Jl. Raya Pekanbaru, Jl. Kubang Raya, and Jl. Garuda Sakti. The traffic light cycle time reaches 208 seconds, exceeding the PKJI 2023 threshold for 4 phases (80-130 seconds), triggering congestion of up to 200 meters on Jl. Hr. Soebrantas and Jl. Raya Pekanbaru. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the signalized intersection at Panam Intersection with alternative fly over construction. The research method uses PKJI 2023 with analysis of existing conditions and alternative scenarios. The results showed existing conditions with a degree of saturation (DJ) of 0,92> 0,85, an intersection delay of 67,26 seconds /mp, and a maximum queue length of 399 meters with category F level of service. After the construction of the flyover, the DJ decreased to 0,71, the delay to 13,54 seconds / smp, and the maximum queue length dropped to 99 meters with a category B level of service. A combination with road widening or signal phase changes is recommended to optimize traffic management.

Abstract

Clay soil has low bearing capacity and high plasticity, which requires stabilization efforts to improve its strength. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Recycled Concrete Waste (RCW) as an alternative stabilizing material in improving the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value of clay soil. The research was conducted through a series of laboratory tests, including physical property analysis, Standard Proctor compaction tests, and CBR tests under RCW mixture variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, both in unsoaked and soaked conditions. The results indicate that the Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) increased from 1.65% to 18.1%, while the Maximum Dry Density (MDD) decreased from 19.8 g/cm³ to 17 g/cm³, and slightly increased to 17.5 g/cm³ at 15% RCW content. The CBR value showed a significant improvement, increasing from 4.6% to 15% under unsoaked conditions and from 3.30% to 12.80% after soaking. It can be concluded that the optimum RCW content of 20% effectively enhances the soil’s bearing capacity and water resistance while offering an environmentally friendly solution for subgrade stabilization in road construction

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of bed slope variation on flow characteristics in an open channel flume at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Universitas Lancang Kuning. The research was conducted experimentally using a laboratory flume with constant discharge conditions. Three slope variations were applied, namely 0.001, 0.003, and 0.005. The observed parameters include flow velocity and flow depth. In addition, the Froude number was calculated to determine the type of flow regime. The results indicate that increasing the bed slope leads to an increase in flow velocity from 0.20 m/s to 0.33 m/s. Meanwhile, the flow depth tends to decrease as the slope increases. The calculated Froude number ranges from 0.201 to 0.343, indicating that the flow regime remains in subcritical conditions. These results provide empirical insight into the relationship between bed slope and hydraulic characteristics in open channel flow and can serve as reference data for hydraulic laboratory experiments.

Abstract

This community service program strengthened road safety literacy and safe behavior among school community members at Witama School, Pekanbaru, through a participatory School Safety Literacy Model based on the School Safety Zone. The program responded to the school need for practical traffic safety education, clearer understanding of signs and markings, safer crossing habits, and a simple school follow up mechanism. The model consisted of five connected components: risk mapping, traffic sign literacy, guided safe crossing practice, school commitment, and program continuity. Activities involved 95 students through coordination with the school, field observation, interactive education, group discussion, traffic sign simulation, safe crossing practice, reflection, and handover of educational outputs. The outputs received by the school included a road safety literacy module, traffic sign posters, a simple risk map around the school gate, a teacher monitoring checklist, presentation materials, and recommendations for pick up and drop off arrangement. A short pre and post activity quiz was used only as a learning reflection tool. The average score increased from 52.37 before the activity to 95.74 after the activity, showing improved understanding of School Safety Zone concepts, traffic signs, safe crossing steps, and school safety culture. The program also produced a sustainability plan through teacher supervision, repeated use of educational media, and routine reminders during school arrival and dismissal times. This program shows that community service in school traffic safety becomes more useful when it leaves practical tools, builds school participation, and creates a follow up mechanism after the activity ends
