Abstract

Community service program on basic statistical training by using Ms.Excel application in SDN Pamotan II Kec. Porong is done with the target of the school teacher. It aims to improve teacher insight on the use of already-available computer applications such as Ms. Excel. The use of this application will help a lot of teacher work in the processing of student grades both for filling report cards and school exam grades that originally there are still using manual calculations whereas for now will be used computer applications. The method used includes 3 stages. In the first stage, observations are made to the program objectives of the activity to determine the appropriate method of the target condition and situation. In the second phase of the delivery of training materials that include the introduction of Ms.Excel applications along with functions and statistical formulas to be used in the training. In the third stage, the follow-up activities of further guidance on function and statistical formulas are more varied by teachers. Based on the results of the activity in the form of Ms.Excel application training on the count operation shows that the knowledge of participants and their skills in the operation of the application has increased significantly after being given lectures and practices, so that the activity took place very interesting discussion. The indicators used as a benchmark to increase the knowledge and understanding of the participants is that they have been able to practice the data processing of the students' values used during the activity. In addition, a positive response to this activity was also provided by the participants, as evidenced by the participants' questions during the discussion. The question indicates that the participant understands what the resource person tells you about the operation of the count with Ms.Excel and is a positive thing for additional quality and useful knowledge.

Abstract

Statistical literacy is an ability to understand, interpret, and use data-based information to make rational and informational decisions. The purpose of this activity is to improve students' statistical literacy skills. Participants in this training activity were students from PGMI, Hasanuddin Pare Islamic Institute. The stages of the training activities include (1) the presentation of material by the resource person on statistics; (2) Assistance using statistical software with SPSS. At this stage the activity is in the form of providing training on data entry and operation of SPSS software, as well as interpreting SPSS output correctly. Students have the opportunity to ask questions about the operation of the software. At this stage students are expected to be able to operate SPSS software and correctly interpret SPSS output; (3) Discussion and evaluation forums. At this stage it is expected to make a positive contribution so as to increase student interest and learning motivation in statistical data analysis. This data analysis training received a positive response from students. This is evidenced by the active participation of students during the activity. So that with the smooth running of the activities it can be said that the training can be carried out properly and successfully in accordance with the achievement targets.

Abstract

This training activity aims to improve participants' abilities in collecting, processing and analyzing research-related data in quantitative form. The activity was attended by students from the Sharia Economic Law Study Program at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. The material provided during training concerns sampling techniques and various test statistics in data analysis for quantitative research. The stages in this training activity include presentation of material by resource persons, questions and answers and interactive discussions with participants, operating SPSS software. The response from the training participants was very good as shown by the participants' interest when asking questions or discussing during the activity so that this activity could be carried out according to expectations.

Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan membaca mempunyai peranan penting terhadap keberhasilan akademik siswa. Namun, masih banyak siswa di sekolah dasar yang mengalami kesulitan membaca, terutama di kelas tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tidaknya pengaruh metode Orton-Gillingham terhadap kesulitan membaca siswa kelas IV dan V di SDN Kalipecabean Sidoarjo. Metode Orton-Gillingham merupakan metode yang terstruktur pada huruf dan bunyi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Pre Experimental One Group Pretest-Posstest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 6 siswa yang mengalami kesulitan membaca, dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling . Instrumen berupa lembar observasi tes kemampuan membaca, dianalisis menggunakan Paired Sample T-Test . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikansi kemampuan membaca siswa setelah diterapkan menggunakan metode Orton-Gillingham, dengan nilai p sebesar 0,000 ≤ 0,05. Jadi terdapat perbedaan setelah dan sesudah menggunakan metode Orton-Gillingham yang dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai posttest siswa . Hal ini berarti terdapat peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas IV dan V SDN Kalipecabean Kota Sidoarjo. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa metode Orton-Gillingham efektif dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca pada siswa kelas IV dan V SDN Kalipecabean. Kata Kunci: Metode Orton Gillingham, membantu membaca .
