Abstract

Technological advances make various information more accessible, including information about investment. However, investment usually involves large funds so that investors must be careful and capable, and for years various generations have contributed to investment. Of the various generations, Generation Z (born 1997 - 2012) is dominated because this generation is considered very skilled with technology, making it very easy for them to access the information. However, there are various obstacles that arise, such as their lack of skill in making decisions in investors to psychological factors and investment behavior (availability bias, loss aversion bias, and confirmation bias). Although these factors can be overcome with self-efficacy from several existing references, this still needs to be proven further. With these problems, a quantitative study using the SEM-PLS analysis method was conducted to determine the direct effect of availability bias, loss aversion bias, and confirmation bias on investment decisions and the moderating effect of self-efficacy of Generation Z investors in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The research findings are that only loss aversion and confirmation bias have a positive and significant direct effect on investment decisions of Gen Z investors in the DIY capital market. While the three types of behavioral bias (availability, loss aversion, and confirmation bias) only show a positive but insignificant effect on investment decisions when moderated by self-efficacy.

Abstract

The phenomenon of underpricing of shares in the Initial Public Offering (IPO) has become a critical issue in the Indonesian capital market, where the stock price on the first day of trading often far exceeds the initial offering price. This condition causes potential losses for issuers and indicates market inefficiency. The main objective of this study is to examine the effect of Corporate Governance, Board Diversity, and Underpricing on Initial Public Offering (IPO) companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2010–2024. A panel data regression model is used to determine the effect of these variables. The sample consists of companies conducting IPOs on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2010–2024 period. The independent variables considered include Board Diversity (specifically Female Board Members (FB) and Board Member Age (AA)), Board Size (BS), Board Committee (BC), Board Independence (BI), Related Board Members (RBM), Board Member Position (BP), and Top Ten Shareholders (Top 10). Underpricing (UP) serves as the dependent variable. The analysis results indicate that female board members have a negative effect on underpricing, and Top Ten Shareholding also has a negative effect on underpricing.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of risk perception, self-efficacy, investment motivation, and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on cryptocurrency investment decisions among investors in Indonesia. A quantitative research approach was employed, with primary data collected through an online questionnaire. The study involved 190 respondents, the majority of whom were university students, accounting for 93.7% of the sample. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results indicate that self-efficacy, investment motivation, and FoMO have a positive and significant effect on cryptocurrency investment decisions. In addition, risk perception was also found to have a positive and significant effect on cryptocurrency investment decisions. Simultaneously, all four independent variables significantly influence cryptocurrency investment decisions. These findings suggest that investment decision-making in highly volatile digital assets is not driven solely by financial considerations but is shaped by a complex interaction of cognitive, motivational, and emotional factors. Therefore, cryptocurrency trading platforms are encouraged to enhance investor education, improve transparency regarding investment risks, and provide financial literacy programs to support more rational and responsible investment decisions among retail investors.

Abstract

Abstract

The low level of sharia banking inclusion among Generation Z is an important issue even though the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim. This study aims to analyze the effect of sharia financial literacy and sharia bank reputation on the intention to use sharia banks with religiosity as a mediating variable among Generation Z in Yogyakarta. The study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling and is analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results show that Islamic financial literacy, Islamic bank reputation, and religiosity have a positive and significant effect on the intention to use Islamic banks. Religiosity partially mediates the effect of literacy and reputation on intention. The limitations of this study lie in its geographical scope and the use of self-reported data. These findings emphasize the importance of improving literacy and strengthening reputation based on sharia compliance to increase the interest of Generation Z.
