Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of education in dayah in terms of perennialist philosophy. The problem that will be studied is the existence of the dayah education system and its relationship with the concept of perennialist philosophy. The research methodology is library research with a descriptive analysis approach. The findings of this study are: First: the curriculum in Aceh's dayahs has led to the refinement of a more modernist curriculum; many Islamic boarding schools in Aceh have integrated the general curriculum into the Islamic boarding school (dayah) curriculum so that there is a balance between public and religious education, even though religious education dominates the implementation curriculum. Second: learning methods, dayahs, have modernized learning methods, such as attending skills and art classes, entrepreneurial learning, financial management, etc. Third, dayahs have prepared students to face the world of industrialization and the needs of the world of work. Fourth, traditional dayahs still preserve the old culture and continue to present new things that are modernist to answer the challenges of the globalization era.

Abstract

This study aims to answer the main problem, how the position of the father as the heir according to Syāfi’īyah jurisprudence and KUHPerdata and why there is a difference in place between the two. This research is a library research study using a qualitative approach with a comparative descriptive method. The results show a difference in the father's position as the heir in Syāfi’īyah jurisprudence and KUHPerdata. In Syāfi’īyah jurisprudence, the father has a definite place as mentioned in Surat An-Nisa’:11, namely as żawil furūḍ when together with the descendants of the heirs both men and women, as' ‘aṣabah if there are no children and as żawil furūḍ and ‘aṣabah when together with a daughter. The father is in the same position as the heir's descendants without being hindered by any heir. While KUHPerdata father's position as the heir is classified in group II, the new father has the right if the heir of the first group no longer exists. The father does not become an heir and the descendants of the heir because the father is equated with a brother even though the father is in the first degree, which is the same as the descendants of the heirs.

Abstract

This study investigates the role and sustainability of traditional media in Islamic religious practices in Langsa City, Aceh, amidst the pressures of modernization and digital media penetration. It aims to understand the functions, challenges, and adaptation strategies of traditional media, as well as intergenerational community perceptions towards it. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants, participatory observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and document studies, and then analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that traditional media (such as Meugang, Seudati Dance, and Saman) continue to play a central role as a means of religious expression, cultural communication, and strengthening social cohesion. However, their sustainability faces serious challenges, including a decline in regeneration among young practitioners, weak policy support, and competition with digital media. In response, communities have developed adaptation strategies such as content digitization and integration into education, although this raises dilemmas between preserving authenticity and commodification. The study concludes that the continuity of traditional media depends on contextual adaptive abilities that blend local values with innovations in format and medium. These findings contribute to the studies of cultural communication and media ecology and recommend the need for supportive policies, cultural education, and a gender-inclusive approach for revitalization. Further research with a broader ethnographic scope is suggested.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the theological beliefs that have an impact on the formation of political movements and political movements that realize theological schools. This study uses a qualitative approach. The source of the study comes from related references, particularly regarding the development of theology in Islam and its relation to power politics. The findings of the article show that differences in understanding of theology have created the emergence of many groups. Every theological thought has its own argumentation basis. Differences in theological understanding are determined by the understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith. Differences in the meaning of religion are largely determined by reasoning ability and the patron of religious authority that is followed. Each group builds political power to defend and spread its theological understanding. In the early generations, religious patrons had a great opportunity to lead their group's political movements. In the period of its development, the spread of theological schools needed to be integrated with politics. In contrast to the early generations, in later periods, the development of theology depended on the ability of religious authorities to offer an integrative meaning of religion with political power.

Abstract

Penguatan nilai moderasi beragama di perguruan tinggi menjadi tantangan penting di tengah meningkatnya gejala intoleransi dan polarisasi sosial generasi muda. Rumah Moderasi IAIN Langsa sebagai pusat pengembangan Islam Wasathiyah menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti belum adanya Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) dan modul pembelajaran yang baku, lemahnya koordinasi kelembagaan, serta rendahnya partisipasi sivitas akademika. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat eksistensi dan efektivitas Rumah Moderasi melalui penyusunan SOP kelembagaan dan pengembangan modul akademik Mata Kuliah Studi Islam Wasathiyah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa, dan pemangku kepentingan secara aktif dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam tata kelola dan pelaksanaan program moderasi. Rumah Moderasi kini memiliki pedoman operasional yang sistematis, modul ajar yang terintegrasi, serta meningkatnya antusiasme dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap kegiatan moderasi. Dampak positif juga terlihat dari perluasan kerja sama lintas lembaga dan meningkatnya kesadaran moderat di lingkungan akademik. Pengabdian ini berhasil menciptakan fondasi kelembagaan dan akademik yang kuat bagi pengembangan Islam Wasathiyah di IAIN Langsa, sekaligus memperkuat peran perguruan tinggi sebagai motor penggerak moderasi beragama di masyarakat.
