Abstract

The study reveal the reading improvement by using Buzz groups technique. This study used action research. This research finding that buzz groups technique can improve students’ reading comprehension. The improvement can be identified from students’ reading comprehension achievement in finding word meaning, finding detailed information, identifying the referent, identifying the main idea, identiying implied information, identifying the language characteristics of the text including identifying the generic structure of the text and identifying communicative purpose of text. The result score of pre-test is 60.2, the mean score of post-test 1 is 75.4, and the mean score of post-tes 2 is 83

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study revealed the teaching speaking by using role play. This is classroom action research. The subjects under the study was the students of class VIIA in academic year 2017/2018, it consist of 31 students. This is done in 2 cycles. The research result is the speaking ability in VII A MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Pontianak had an improvement. It could be seen with the mean score in cycle 1 achive 57.60 % and in cycle 2 had achive 73.54%. Keyword: Speaking, Role Play, Teenager, ABSTRAK Studi ini mengungkapkan pengajaran berbicara dengan menggunakan permainan peran. Ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA pada tahun akademik 2017/2018, terdiri dari 31 siswa. Hal ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Vibry Andina NurhidayahIAIN PontianakVibry_AN @yahoo.com AbstrakDalam menerjemahkan puisi seorang penerjemah harus mampu menyampaikan isi dan makna yang ada didalam bahasa sumber, Menerjemahkan puisi tergolong penerjemahan tersulit karena dalam prosesnya, sedapat mungkin dipertahankan suasana batin dari karya itu (mood, tone). Pada saat yang sama, penerjemah harus mencari padanan atas bentuk formal puisi itu sendiri secara tepat, misalnya jumlah baris (terutama untuk jenis sonnet), rhyme (persajakan) dan syllable (jumlah suku kata). Untuk menjaga supaya wajar, perpindahan isi dan pesan (content, message) puisi tetapharus dibawa. Semua kualifikasi ini sangat ditentukan oleh kepekaan seorang penerjemah-sastrawan.Kata kunci: karya sastra, puisi, terjemahan  AbstractOn the translation of poetry, a translator must be able to deliver content and meaning in the source language. Translating poetry classified as the hardest translation because of the process must be able to keep inner mood from its creation (mood, tone). At the same time, a translator must find the equivalent of right formal poetry, for example amount of line (especially kinds of sonnet), rhyme and amount of syllable. Besides, displacement content and message of poetry must keep it reasonable. These qualifications determined by sensitivity of a translator-writer.    Keywords: literary work, poetry, translation

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to provide training to students and teachers to rework research manuscripts into articles, so that participants are expected to have sufficient knowledge and skills in publishing articles resulting from research results in scientific journals. Writing scientific articles requires a deep understanding of the topic being researched so that it can help students to understand the topic thoroughly. The method used in this PKM is Service Learning. Service learning is a way of teaching and learning that connects positive and meaningful actions in society with academic learning, personal development and responsibility as a citizen. This service was carried out at the English Language Study Program FTIK IAIN Pontianak. The subjects of this service are English teachers, alumni and final year students of the English Language Studies Program. This PKM activity is planned to include three stages, namely pre-meeting, training, and evaluation. This PKM activity improves the ability and understanding of participants in converting the content of research papers into scientific articles, converting research results into forms of argumentative writing techniques, focusing on findings, journal targets, reviewer review results, and reference writing. This training is expected to be annual activity program at the Tadris English Language Study Program FTIK IAIN Pontianak.
