Abstract

Recurrent failures of the arm cylinder on the Kobelco SK 200-10 excavator at PT. XZ have resulted in increased downtime, decreased equipment performance, and higher maintenance costs. This study aims to evaluate equipment effectiveness through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. Measurement results for the period September–December 2024 indicate an OEE value of 38.97%, with availability of 82%, performance of 50.46%, and quality of 93.75%, suggesting that the equipment performance remains suboptimal, particularly in terms of performance . Six Big Losses analysis reveals that the largest losses are caused by reduced speed losses at 52.08% and average equipment failure losses of 13.96%. The main contributing factors are identified as machinery conditions, work methods, environmental factors, and operator involvement. Therefore, improving equipment effectiveness can be achieved through more disciplined preventive maintenance, refinement of operating procedures, and increased operator participation in daily maintenance activities. Abstract

CV. X frequently experiences recurring failures in Cummins genset components, such as rubber coupling, fuel filter, oil filter, battery, and radiator. This condition causes considerable downtime and increased maintenance costs, as the maintenance approach remains reactive. This research aims to design a more effective maintenance strategy using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and failure history records, then analyzed using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify critical components, as well as Logic Tree Analysis (LTA) to determine the appropriate maintenance strategy. The results revealed five critical components, with the highest risk value found in the rubber coupling(RPN 300). The recommended strategy is Condition Directed for the rubber coupling, battery, and radiator, and Time Directed for the fuel filter and oil filter. Implementing this strategy is expected to reduce downtime and improve machine reliability. Keywords: Cummins Genset, Downtime, Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), Maintenance, RCM

Abstract

Inventory control is an important aspect in an organization or a company, especially a company which is deal with perishable products such as fruits An inventory model that considers the emission costs and the quality of products is Multi-Echelon Inventory Model. This research is a case study of a fruit shop where inventory control for high demand-value fruits is managed using the Multi-Echelon Inventory Model. This study aims to control the inventory of fruits in a fruit shop using Multi-Echelon Inventory Model. The data collection is carried out both in the cool room, where the fruits are consumed by the sales department, and in the sales area, where demand is generated by end consumers. Inventory costs were calculated for three fruit retrieval scenarios from the cool room, adjusted for fruit categories based on the time it takes for the fruit to deteriorate. Total inventory cost for scenario 1 is Rp.3.727.185,00, for scenario 2 is Rp. 3.698.675,00, and for scenario 3 is Rp 3.793.730,00. Total inventory cost are  the combination between the inventory cost in the cool room and the inventory cost of sales area of sales department. The results f the research shows the total inventory cost to manage the products with high demand-value and also recommendations (scenario 3) on how to control the inventory system of fruit at the case organization.
