Abstract

This study aims to apply the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model using TIMSS question worksheets on algebraic content to measure solving abilities. The population in this study were all VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Pangkajene totaling 180 students and a sample of 32 students who were taken using simple random technique. The instruments in this study were 1) worksheets on TIMSS questions; 2) Test problem solving skills; 3) Interview guidelines. The data will be analyzed descriptive quantitative and inferential analysis. The results obtained: 1) students 'problem solving abilities (pretest) according to the aspects assessed in the TIMSS were analyzed descriptively in moderate interpretation, which was 10 students or 33% of 32 students, while the students' problem solving abilities (posttest) were at high interpretation which was equal to 17 students or 54% of 32 students. The normalized gain test result is 0.52, which means that the increase in student learning outcomes taught by the CPS learning model is in the medium category. 2) The average percentage of students who responded positively to the application of the CPS model was 81%. 3) Inferential, the application of the CPS learning model is complete classically and has a boost to increase the gain of 0.3 or there is an increase in the average normalized gain value significantly so that this model is good for use in mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 1 Pangkajene.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh perangkat pembelajaran berupa Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa berbasis pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education yang valid dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Geometri Analitik Bidang. Proses pengembangan LKM menggunakan model 4-D Thiagarajan. Instrumen-instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran LKM, (2) lembar observasi, (3) angket respons mahasiswa, dan (4) tes berupa pretest dan posttest yang mengukur kemampuan literasi mahasiswa pada materi Geometri Analitik Bidang. Tes ini digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat kemampuan literasi mahasiswa yang terdiri dari level 1-6 sesuai dengan framework PISA. LKM berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh dua ahli kemudian dianalisis dengan validitas isi Gregory. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKM yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan efektif berdasarkan penilaian validator dan hasil uji coba yang dilaksanakan. Kevalidan perangkat lebih dari 75% atau V > 75%. Ini menunjukkan bahwa LKM yang dihasilkan berada pada kategori valid atau inferensia yang dilakukan adalah sahih. Keefektifan perangkat ditunjukkan dengan terpenuhinya 3 dari 4 indikator kefektifan yang ditetapkan, antara lain: (1) Rata-rata kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa berada pada level “sedang” (2) terpenuhinya 7 dari 9 kategori aktivitas siswa, (3) Semua mahasiswa memberikan respon positif sebesar 100% dari tiap aspek yang direspon.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the independent curriculum which has begun to be implemented in several schools by implementing inclusive learning, where every child gets equal opportunities in education regardless of the child's condition. To support the implementation of inclusive education, the first thing every teacher needs to do before starting the learning process is a diagnostic assessment. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the application of diagnostic assessment of algebraic material to class VII students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. The research subjects were 30 class VII students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data using diagnostic assessment and interviews. The research data are combined to determine the classification of students' answers. The results showed that 16.67% of students were in the complete understanding category, 10% were in the misconception category, 3.33% were in the guessing category, 50% were in the lack of understanding category, and 20% were still in the do not understand category.

Abstract

Quantitative reasoning holds a significant place in the realm of mathematical education. A primary objective shared by many mathematics educators worldwide is to facilitate the connection between students' mental faculties and their capacity to address real-life problems through mathematical means. A fundamental aspect of this endeavor involves nurturing students' comprehension of quantity, particularly in relation to the characteristics of objects. The central aim is to empower students to harness their quantitative reasoning capabilities. In the context of this study, quantitative reasoning denotes the cognitive process employed by individuals when they identify, interconnect, and formulate novel quantities. Algebra, as a discipline, is now widely recognized as one that investigates the structures, relationships, and quantities within mathematics. To enhance students' grasp of algebra and their ability to generalize, a specific instructional approach is employed. The study targets female students enrolled in a Junior High School in Makassar and seeks to scrutinize their quantitative reasoning proficiency in the context of generalization while considering potential gender disparities. To attain this objective, a qualitative methodology is adopted, providing insights into students' quantitative reasoning abilities as reflected in their actions when completing assigned tasks. Ultimately, the study's findings will provide a comprehensive portrayal of how students engage in quantitative reasoning during the process of generalization, which encompasses stages such as connecting quantities, identifying quantities, and formulating new quantities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kuantitafif dengan metode survey dan teknik korelasional. Metode yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan hubungan antar variabel yang diteliti dan hubungan antar variabel yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien korelasi. Koefisien korelasi merupakan suatu alat statistik yang digunakan untuk membantu peneliti dalam memahami tingkat hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara metode tutor sebaya dan pendidikan karakter secara bersama-sama dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Dari hasil penelitian dan pengolahan data yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara metode tutor sebaya dan pendidikan karakter secara bersama-sama dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Kota Pangkajene. Pendidikan karakter dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam pembentukan karakter dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: Metode Tutor Sebaya, Pendidikan Karakter, Hasil Belajar Matematika
