Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out: (1) whether or not Reciprocal Teaching Strategy significantly increased the students’ achievement in reading comprehension; (2) the effect size of the strategy in increasing the students’ achievement. This research was a pre- experimental study using one group pretest-posttest design carried out at the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak in the Academic Year of 2011/2012. The data were collected by using measurement technique. Data analysis showed that t-value was higher than t-table (2.1272.021) at 0.05 level of significance. It means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. The mean score of pre-test was 51.5 and the mean score of post-test was 80.8. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Reciprocal Teaching Strategy significantly increases the students’ reading comprehension. The analysis of effect size showed that the effect size was categorized as high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of reciprocal teaching strategy highly influenced the students’ reading comprehension and was considered as effective teaching strategy in increasing the students’ reading comprehension.                 Keyword: Increasing, Reciprocal, Reading Comprehension

Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out whether : (1) dictogloss is more effective than dicto-comp to teach writing skill; (2) the students with high level of risk-taking have better writing skill than those with low level of risk-taking; and (3) there is an interaction between the teaching methods and students’ risk-taking in teaching writing skill. This research is an experimental study carried out at the English Education Department of STKIP-PGRI Pontianak in the Academic Year of 2012/2013. The results of the data analysis showed that (1) dictogloss is more effective than dicto-comp to teach writing skill; (2) the students with high level of risk-taking have better writing skill than those with low level of risk-taking; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching methods and students’ risk-taking to teach writing skill. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that dictogloss is an effective method to teach writing skill and the effectiveness of the method is influenced by the students’ level of risk-taking.Keywords: Dictogloss, Writing skill, Risk-taking

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika dengan prestasi belajar fisika. Sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas XI-IA5 yang berjumlah 34 orang, digunakan untuk mewakili seluruh siswa kelas XI-IA pada SMAN 4 Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan angket. Dokumentasi digunakan untuk mendapatkan nilai prestasi siswa semester II pelajaran fisika dari guru yang bersangkutan. Angket digunakan untuk mengukur persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis korelasional product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika dengan prestasi belajar fisika dan bernilai positif, berdasarkan rhitung rtabel yaitu 0,5692 0,2869 pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan dk = (n-2) = 32. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji r, Ha diterima bila rhitung ≥ rtabel. Dengan demikian Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Maka dapat disimpulkan, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran dengan prestasi belajar fisika.Kata Kunci: Persepsi Siswa, Prestasi Belajar, Fisika, Hubungan

Abstract

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of East Kalimantan (Unikaltar) consistently conducts satisfaction surveys to improve the quality of services provided to students. This survey aims to evaluate the performance of each work unit, including lecturers, with the hope that the results obtained can identify aspects that are still hampering or suboptimal. The survey results serve as the basis for formulating steps to improve and enhance the quality of educational services within the faculty. This study specifically highlights the level of student satisfaction with the performance of lecturers in the Islamic Religious Education course. The survey implementation process includes several stages, starting from data collection using a survey instrument, the data input process, and testing the validity and reliability of the instrument to ensure data reliability. Next, the collected data is processed and analyzed to obtain an objective picture of student perceptions. Based on the analysis, the student satisfaction index value obtained is 3.16. This figure is in the "Good" or "Satisfied" category, indicating that students are generally satisfied with the service and learning process carried out by lecturers in the course. These findings provide important input for the institution in maintaining and improving the quality of learning, particularly in the field of religious studies. In the future, it is hoped that similar surveys can continue to be carried out periodically so that the service improvement process can run continuously.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of pre-service English teachers toward the microteaching program, focusing on its influence on their professional learning, its role in preparing them for field teaching practice, and the challenges and supports they experienced. The study employed a qualitative case study design. Eight pre-service teachers undertaking micro teaching program were purposively involved as the research participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and reflective journals, and analyzed using thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). The findings revealed that microteaching was initially seen not only as a basic academic requirement, but also as a valuable simulation of real teaching practice. The program significantly enhanced their teaching-related skills, pedagogical knowledge, and personal growth, including of confidence, communication, classroom management, and lesson planning. Moreover, microteaching helped participants build professional readiness for their field teaching practice (PLP 2). However, some challenges such as time constraints and limited resources were also reported. To address these, participants relied on self-reflection, peer support, and guidance from supervisors. This study highlights the critical role of microteaching in bridging the gap between theory and practice in teacher education and offers insights into how the program can be improved to better support future educators. Abstract

This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis and evaluation of the relevance of instructional materials in the Grade IV Javanese Language textbook for the Kurikulum Merdeka (Merdeka Curriculum). The analysis encompasses aspects of content, learning activities, and material presentation in relation to the needs of students in the digital era. This study employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The primary data source is the Grade IV Javanese Language textbook for the Kurikulum Merdeka used in Mijen, Semarang City, and the data were collected through documentation techniques. The data were analyzed using a qualitative-interpretive method with an instrument in the form of an analysis sheet developed based on curriculum relevance theory. The results of the research indicate that the textbook's content is dominated by traditional-agrarian themes and does not yet represent the students' digital world. The learning activities presented tend to be passive with minimal technological integration. The unggah-ungguh (Javanese code of polite conduct) material has not been contextualized for digital communication. Furthermore, it was found that the readability level of the text is still too difficult for Grade IV students, which is consistent with previous research. These findings confirm a gap between the instructional materials and student needs. It is concluded that the analyzed Grade IV Javanese Language textbook for the Kurikulum Merdeka is less relevant for use by students in the digital era.

Abstract

Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA) adalah unit kerja terdepan yang melaksanakan sebagian tugas pemerintah di bidang pembinaan agama islam. Lingkup kerja KUA adalah berada pada wilayah tingkat Kecamatan khususnya di KUA Kecamatan Sesayap Kabupaten Tanah Tidung Provinsi Kalimantan Utara. Penghulu sebagai garda dalam melaksanakan pernikahan di suatu wilayah tertentu yang mempunyai kewajiban melaksanakan pelayanan nikah kepada seluruh warga setempat yang memeluk agama Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran dan fungsi penghulu dalam mewujudkan pelayanan nikah yang transparansi menuju good govermence dalam segala aspek. Penyusunan dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif yaitu berusaha memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang persoalan dan menganalisisnya secara metodologis serta mencoba menganalisis isi (content analysis) dari sumber-sumber tulisan dan kajian yang ada dengan diolah secara filosofi dan reflektif. Hasil yang didapatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan peran dan fungsi penghulu dalam pelayanan nikah sangatlah strategis guna menunjang keberlangsungan syariat dan peraturan yang mendasarinya, dan fungsi penghulu dalam transparansi kinerja juga harus berdasarkan ketentuan hukum yang berlaku sehingga tercipta good gevermence dalam wilayah kerja terutama di lingkup kerja KUA Kecamatan Sesayap Kabupaten Tanah Tidung Provinsi Kalimantan Utara

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam merupakan pendidikan yang didasarkan pada nilai-nilai Islam dan berisikan ajaran Islam. Pendidikan Islam sebagai suatu proses penyiapan generasi muda untuk mengisi peranan, memindahkan pengetahuan dan nilai-nilai Islam yang diselaraskan dengan fungsi manusia untuk beramal di dunia dan memetik hasilnya di akhirat. Dosen sebagai pendidik memiliki peranan kuat dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan karakter mahasiswa. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode Observasi dan literatur. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa Universitas Kaltara. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah peran dosen Pendidikan Islam dalam membina karakter mahasiswa Universitas Kaltara diwujudkan dengan mengimplemantasikan beberapa aspek yaitu 1) keteladanan yang dilakukan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung sesuai ajaran Islam dan kisah para Nabi dan sahabat-Nya serta membiasakan sikap dan moral seperti akhlak, ibadah dan keimanan; b) Inspirator yang memiliki nilai kepribadian positif sesuai dengan tuntunan Al-Quran; c) Motivator yang bersifat terbuka, membantu mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan potensi mahasiswa, interaksi baik dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga menghasilkan suasana nyaman, dan memberikan respon positif dan aktif kepada mahasiswa; d) Dinamisator bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter mahasiswa; e) Evaluator untuk melihat tingkat keberhasilan, efektivitas dan efisiensi dalam proses pembelajaran. Adapun Faktor pendukung dan penghambat pendidikan Islam dalam membina karakter mahasiswa Universitas Kaltara adalah a) faktor pendukung : perlunya dukungan dari orang tua, komitmen bersama dengan masyarakat yang ada dilingkungan kampus Universitas Kaltara, dan fasilitas kampus; b) faktor penghambat : latar belakang mahasiswa yang berbeda-beda, kurangnya kesadaran mahasiswa, dan lingkungan atau pergaulan mahasiswa

Abstract

Lingkungan merupakan aspek penting dalam kehidupan manusia, namun permasalahan kebersihan masih menjadi isu serius akibat rendahnya kepedulian masyarakat. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, mahasiswa KKN bersama masyarakat melaksanakan kegiatan bakti sosial di Lapangan Mekar Sari, Dusun Sambintea, Desa Sari, Kecamatan Sape. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat, menumbuhkan semangat gotong royong, serta menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih, sehat, dan nyaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah partisipatif dengan tahapan observasi, perencanaan, sosialisasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kebersihan lingkungan, berfungsinya kembali saluran air, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan. Partisipasi masyarakat cukup tinggi dengan antusiasme gotong royong yang kuat. Selain berdampak positif terhadap lingkungan, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat nilai sosial berupa kebersamaan, kepedulian, dan tanggung jawab. Peran mahasiswa sebagai fasilitator terbukti mampu mendorong keterlibatan masyarakat secara aktif. Agar keberlanjutan kegiatan terjaga, diperlukan sarana pendukung, pembentukan tim kerja bakti rutin, serta edukasi berkelanjutan bagi generasi muda.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant child health issue in Indonesia, particularly in Bulungan Regency, with prevalence rates demanding multisectoral interventions. Low socioeconomic factors play a crucial role in stunting incidence due to limited access to nutritious food and healthcare services. This community service aims to optimize rice waste, especially straw and husks, as alternative energy sources to empower local economies and prevent stunting in Sajau Hilir Village. A participatory method was employed through direct education and training involving the PKK women's group. The activities focused on socializing the processing of rice waste into economically valuable products such as rice husk charcoal briquettes and biosensitizers from rice straw. The results showed increased knowledge and skills among community members in converting waste into environmentally friendly and marketable alternative energy products. Utilizing rice waste not only reduces agricultural waste but also opens new economic opportunities sustainably and independently, strengthening family economic resilience and enhancing the ability to meet children's nutritional and healthcare needs. Thus, optimizing rice waste provides a strategic contribution to integrating environmental management and accelerating stunting reduction through local economic empowerment. Recommendations include strengthening community institutions, developing joint business units, and fostering collaboration between universities and local governments.
