Abstract

The mangosteen fruit has a characteristic thick skin, so it is difficult to know the condition of the flesh. Farmer can only know damage to the fruit flesh after the fruit skin had opened. Detection of the quality of the mangosteen flesh can be detected using a sensor capable of penetrating the thickness of the mangosteen rind. Flesh quality detection is carried out based on the S21 value (attenuation of mangosteen flesh value) using a portable device equipped with a sensor and capable of emitting microwaves. The S21 value of the fruit's flesh was measured using a spiral resonator that functioned as a sensor. The prototype device consists of an oscillator circuit, a power splitter, and a phase detector with 2507 MHz. Fruit flesh had divided into two conditions: damaged for fruit flesh with yellow sap or Translucent Flesh Disorder, and suitable condition for clean fruit flesh. The results showed that the fruit flesh had an average S21 value of 7.041 dB for damaged flesh and 6.007 dB for good flesh condition. The difference in the value of S21 had used as a reference for detecting the shape of the fruit flesh, with the detection threshold calculated by the Support Vector Machine, resulting in a threshold value of 6.712 dB.

Abstract

The demand for animal products, especially eggs, as a source of easily digestible and high-quality protein, continues to increase significantly. Eggs play an important role in nutrition due to their rich protein content. However, eggs have weaknesses in terms of durability, as they can deteriorate due to various factors such as natural damage, chemical exposure, and microbial contamination that can enter through their shells. Therefore, sorting eggs is crucial to ensure their quality before consumption. Traditional sorting methods commonly used involve using a flashlight in dark rooms or employing water immersion techniques, which have limitations in accuracy and efficiency. In light of these issues, this research aims to develop an egg sorting device using Arduino Uno as the microcontroller, along with a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) for detecting the condition of the eggs and a Load Cell for measuring the weight of the eggs as the basis for sorting. The results of this study indicate that the combination of these two sensors can minimize errors in the sorting process and expedite egg production activities. Consequently, this device is expected to provide solutions for poultry farmers and egg sellers in enhancing product quality and increasing consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk sektor pendidikan. Pengelolaan media digital yang efektif menjadi kebutuhan mendesak, terutama bagi lembaga pendidikan berbasis keagamaan seperti Sekolah Dasar Tahfidzul Qur’an (SDTQ) Darul Wafa Mataram. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas tenaga pendidik, pegawai, dan guru SDTQ dalam mengelola media digital untuk keperluan edukasi dan dakwah. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan interaktif dan ceramah di kelas, dengan fokus pada pengenalan dan penggunaan platform media sosial khususnya YouTube. Materi yang diberikan mencakup manfaat youtube untuk pendidikan, teknik pengelolaan konten dan pengoptimalan mesin pencari (SEO) untuk meningkatkan jangkauan dan efektivitas pesan edukatif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelatihan memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai pentingnya SEO dalam mendukung visibilitas konten di mesin pencari. Selain itu, mereka juga mampu merancang strategi sederhana untuk memanfaatkan media sosial secara optimal. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam memaksimalkan peran teknologi digital untuk mendukung visi dan misi SDTQ Darul Wafa Mataram dalam memberikan pendidikan berbasis nilai-nilai Al-Quran.

Abstract

The advancement of technology in the modern era has driven the development of innovations that facilitate human activities, one of which is through the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). This research aims to develop a smart mosque prototype based on IoT to prepare facilities before prayer times. The issue faced by several mosques is the lack of a permanent caretaker, which often leads to delays in preparing for worship, such as filling the ablution water or playing the Quran recitation before the call to prayer, as well as the management of facilities like lighting and fans that are not well controlled. The proposed solution in this research utilizes the NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller, an ultrasonic sensor to detect the water tank capacity to ensure water is available, a DFPlayer Mini to automatically play the Quran recitation before the call to prayer, the MyQur’an API to retrieve prayer times, and the NTP (Network Time Protocol) server to synchronize the system time accurately. Additionally, the Blynk application is used to control the facilities within the mosque. Based on the test results, this prototype system demonstrates good performance in controlling mosque facilities, automatic water filling, and timely Quran recitation playback. However, in the automatic water filling, there is a limitation regarding the high filling threshold, where water overflows at 90% and 95% levels. The DS1307 RTC system has also proven capable of synchronizing time accurately with the prayer schedule from the MyQur’an API, with minimal time difference.

Abstract

Aquaponics is an integrated system that combines fish farming and plant cultivation in a mutually beneficial ecosystem. In this system, plants utilize nutrients produced from fish waste, while also helping to maintain water quality. However, farmers often face difficulties in managing water pH and feeding fish due to their busy schedules or other activities. And also excess feeding can accelerate changes in pond pH. This is because the remaining uneaten feed will decompose in the water, resulting in ammonia compounds that have the potential to increase the pH in the pond. Therefore, this research aims to design an automated device to regulate feeding and control water pH. Arduino is used as the central controller to manage sensors and automate the system. Water quality is measured using a pH sensor with an accuracy level of 95%. The pH control system in fish ponds functions to maintain water quality at the optimal range for fish health. Feeding is carried out according to a set schedule, and the feed throwing distance is adjusted based on voltage. The results of this system show that water pH remains stable, fish and plants are in good condition, and it helps farmers easily maintain water quality and nutrients for both fish and plants. Thus, this device can provide a practical solution for farmers needing automation in the aquaponics process.

Abstract

Penggunaan komputer beserta beberapa program aplikasinya dalam dunia pendidikan pada zaman sekarang merupakan sesuatu yang tidak asing lagi. Hal ini sejalan tuntutan peningkatan kualitas kemampuan para guru dalam membuat dan menyajikan bahan ajar merupakan suatu hal yang perlu untuk direspon para guru. Para guru diharapkan memanfaatkan komputer dalam mengemas materi ajar dalam bentuk bahan ajar yang akan dikomunikasikan kepada para siswa. Agar materi ajar yang akan ditransfer menjadi suatu pengetahuan dan mudah diserap secara maksimal oleh anak didik, maka peran bentuk dan media penyajian materi merupakan hal yang tidak bisa diabaikan. Untuk itu diperlukan suatu pelatihan pembuatan file-file presentasi yang lebih menarik dan komunikatif. Selain hal di atas, maka perlu pula mengadakan pelatihan atau kursus singkat mengenai cara membuat blog bagi para guru dan siswa untuk mengoptimalkan proses belajar-mengajar di sekolah.

Abstract

Peralatan audio digital menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan untuk mendukung kelancaran kegiatan belajar mengajar maupun acara lomba-lomba yang diselenggarakan di Sekolah ataupun di Pondok Pesantren. Penggunaan peralatan audio juga perlu memperhatikan lokasi ruangannya (indoor atau outdoor), posisi pendengar dan spesifikasi peralatan audionya. Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Darul Wafa Mataram termasuk sekolah penghafal Al Qur’an yang memanfaatkan teknologi audio digital untuk menunjang kegiatan belajar mengajar, ujian tahfidzul quran dan lomba lomba Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) yang biasanya diadakan di aula sekolah. Namun peralatan audio yang tersedia masih belum maksimal sehingga kualitas audio yang dihasilkan juga belum optimal. Pengeras suara yang dimiliki sebanyak 1 buah dengan daya sebesar 120 watt, kondisi pengaturan audio ini masih kurang sehingga perlu peningkatan kualitas manajemen audio melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat. Kegiatannya dalam bentuk pelatihan yang dapat memberi pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam manajemen audio digital, berupa pelatihan instalasi, revitalisasi peralatan, pemberian workshop dalam penggunaan dan perawatan peralatan audio kepada Pengelola Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Darul Wafa Mataram. Hasil kegiatannya menunjukkan bahwa kualitas audio yang dihasilkan semakin baik dari sebelumnya dan dapat digunakan untuk mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar serta kegiatan lomba tahfidzul Qur’an. Selain itu daya audio yang dihasilkan bertambah menjadi 240 watt.

Abstract

This research aims to deepen understanding of theory in lectures through practicum. The practicum module was created to facilitate data retrieval during a practicum at the Electronics and Digital Laboratory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Mataram, which was realized in the design of the logic gate and flip-flop experiment module, based on the logic gate and flip-flop experiment module, on logic gates using 7 IC namely AND gate (IC 7408), OR gate IC (IC 7432), NOT gate IC (IC 7404), NAND gate IC (IC 7400), NOR gate IC (IC 7402), XOR gate IC (IC 7486), XNOR gate IC (IC 74266), resistors, led indicators, and switches, on Flip-Flops using 2 logic gate ICs namely NOT gate IC (IC 7404), NAND gate IC (IC 7400), and a JK Flip- Flops (IC 7476), and clocks that use push buttons that have been connected to Arduino, resistors, led indicators, and switches, from the designed modules, the results show that the logic gates and flip-flop experiments are by the experimental steps and the truth table his.

Abstract

Design of the seven segment and shift register experimental module. The aim of designing this tool is to make it easier for Electrical Engineering students at Mataram University to retrieve data during practicum. Previously, students needed a long time to collect data, 20-30 minutes, after the existence of this tool, students only needed 10-15 minutes to collec data. In the data seven-segment experiment, the output displayed a seven segment display, while in the shift register experiment the output is shown by an LED indicator, including several subs such as the right shift register, left shift register, and circular shift register. This design uses IC MC14495, 7476, 7432, 7404 and 7408 equipped with several other components... so that output results are obtained that match the input provided.
