Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' motivation in using volleyball learning media from a gender perspective. The focus of this research is to identify differences in motivation between male and female students in learning volleyball by utilizing various types of media, such as visual, audio, and audiovisual. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a mixed approach. The instruments used include questionnaires and observations of 30 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 15 Bandung, selected through random sampling. The results indicate that the use of learning media positively influences students' learning motivation. Audiovisual media has been proven to be the most effective in increasing students' interest and engagement, regardless of gender, although there are differences in responses based on gender. This research emphasizes the importance of implementing inclusive and gender sensitive learning media to enhance the effectiveness of physical education learning, particularly in volleyball. Theuse of diverse and inclusive learning media significantly boosts students' motivation in volleyball lessons. To achieve optimal results, learning media should be tailored to students' gender characteristics to make the learning process more engaging, fair, and effective.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the role of parents in the popularity of finswimming, as well as its main factors. Parental roles are considered one of the key factors in the development of sports, particularly for children and adolescents. The research method employed was a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey methodology, involving a total sample of 65 parents from the Siliwangi Aquatic Club Cimahi, Surya Gemilang Diving Club, and Best One Aquatic. The research results indicate that there are six factors influencing the role of parents: economic factors, communication factors, knowledge and awareness factors, educational factors, social and cultural factors, and the provision of sports equipment. Most parents have a high awareness of the importance of finswimming, provide economic support, supply equipment, and actively build social support. However, challenges such as inconsistency in accompaniment, uncertainty in prioritizing education over sports, and the primary influence factor of parental role—knowledge and awareness—were identified. Overall, parental support significantly influences children's participation and interest in finswimming, leading to the conclusion that parental role is a key factor in enhancing the popularity of finswimming in Cimahi City.
