Abstract

Background: Ceramic-on-ceramic (CoC) total hip replacement (THR) was developed to minimize debris and osteolytic reaction. The major concern is its brittleness. The aim of this study was to evaluate the short-term outcome of CoC THR in young adult patients. Methods: 11 patients, 13 THR procedures, were followed up until six months after surgery in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Evaluation included Harris hip score (HHS), visual analog scale (VAS), patients’ complaint, short form-36 (SF-36), and acetabular and femoral component angles. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test, paired t-test, and Spearman test. Results: The average age of the patients was 33.6 years old and 55% of them were female. Systemic lupus erythematosus was the main causative disease for THR. The VAS average decreased before surgery and after six months of surgery (5 to 1). Pre- and post-operative HHS and SF-36 increased significantly by (25 to 92) and (21 to 54) respectively. Squeaking sound was reported by two patients. No correlation was found between acetabular and femoral component and squeaking incidence. Conclusion: CoC THR showed excellent short term outcome for young adult patients. With proper indications, CoC THR ensures excellent clinical outcomes and promising survivorship.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of hotel review data analysis and the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology in predicting hotel review sentiment. In this study, deep learning models such as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Efficiently Learning an Encoder that Classifies Token Replacements Accurately (ELECTRA) are used to predict hotel review sentiment in Indonesian. Hotel review data was obtained through a data scraping process with webscraper.io from the Tripadvisor website and a total of 977 hotel review data were obtained from Grand Mercure Maha Cipta Medan Angkasa. Before the sentiment prediction process is carried out, hotel review data must go through the text preprocessing stage to remove punctuation marks, capital letters, stopwords, and a lemmatizer process is carried out to facilitate further data processing. In addition, sentiments that were previously unbalanced need to be balanced through the undersampling process. The data that has been cleaned and balanced is then labeled as negative (0), neutral (1) and positive (2) sentiments. The test results show that the ELECTRA model produces better performance than the LSTM with an accuracy of 47% by ELECTRA and 30% by LSTM.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic limits human activities every day. The spread of the virus is uncontrollable, it can attack anyone, anytime, and anywhere. As a solution, the use of the PeduliLindungi application technology developed by the Ministry of Communication and Information in collaboration with other relevant Ministries and Institutions is used to help track the spread of viruses and understand preventive measures to stop their spread. Research was conducted on the appearance of the application's User Interface using the Heuristic Evaluation method to measure its usefulness. However, there are several problems experienced by users, namely the information is not updated (vaccines and Covid-19 tests), the language used is inconsistent, and others. Questionnaire testing with 10 questions based on 10 Heuristic Evaluation criteria was distributed via Google Form to 33 respondents. Then, carry out validity and reliability tests with the research results obtained Valid and Reliable. as well as testing the hypothesis of all Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, and Error Prevention factors, based on usability and user satisfaction aspects, questionnaire items all test results are accepted and there are no serious problems. However, there are a number of things that need to be improved so that the application can run more optimally.

Abstract

This article examines the role of law as an instrument of social engineering within the framework of sociological jurisprudence, focusing on its application in the Indonesian legal system. The study employs a normative juridical approach with conceptual, historical, and comparative methods to analyze how legal structures can influence social transformation. Findings indicate that while the theoretical foundation aligns with Indonesia’s aspiration for justice and reform, practical implementation often lacks systemic integration and responsiveness to societal needs. By mapping these gaps, the research proposes a conceptual framework for enhancing the law’s role in achieving equitable and adaptive legal reform. This contribution bridges classical legal theory with the realities of Indonesia’s legal development, highlighting the importance of aligning philosophical ideals with practical governance.

Abstract

Authority constitutes a fundamental legal basis in corporate business agreements. In practice, it is not uncommon to find contracts signed by individuals lacking full formal legal legitimacy, either because they fall outside the corporate authority structure or lack proper power of attorney or official appointment. This issue raises legal questions regarding the validity of agreements that are substantively agreed upon but defective in legal representation. This study aims to analyze the boundaries of authority in corporate agreements and to evaluate the general legal approach toward legal acts undertaken by unauthorized individuals. The method employed is a normative juridical approach with qualitative analysis of primary and secondary legal materials. The findings indicate that although positive law mandates formal authority, corporate practice often tolerates actions considered commercially valid, especially when there is implicit acceptance or good faith on the part of the involved parties. These findings suggest that the general legal approach needs to be reconstructed to address the challenges of modern contractual practices. This research contributes to corporate legal practice by emphasizing the need to strengthen internal verification mechanisms and recommending the development of adaptive legal norms, while also enriching theoretical discourse on the limits of authority in contract law.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the concept of law as a tool of social engineering based on Roscoe Pound’s theory and its relevance within the Indonesian legal system. The study employs a normative juridical approach, using conceptual, historical, and comparative methods. Findings show that although Indonesia adopts a civil law system with legalistic tendencies, social engineering through law is still possible via legislative reform and strengthening law as an agent of change. The adapted ideas of Pound by Mochtar Kusumaatmadja and Satjipto Rahardjo indicate that law must remain responsive and adaptive to social demands. This article emphasizes the importance of integrating legal theory with public policy in advancing national legal reform.

Abstract

Danantara, Indonesia’s newly established sovereign wealth fund (SWF), holds transformative potential for economic reform. This article analyzes Danantara’s strategic role in optimizing investment management, enhancing the performance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and advancing Indonesia’s national development agenda. Employing a qualitative literature review of peer-reviewed sources and comparative SWF case studies (primarily Norway and Singapore), the study highlights that Danantara can reduce inefficiencies in SOE capital allocation, strengthen domestic investment capacity, and lower reliance on foreign debt. Danantara’s structure mirrors successful international SWF models while adapting to Indonesia’s legal and institutional context. However, persistent risks such as political interference and governance gaps may hinder its long-term success. This literature-based approach allows a broad yet integrative view but is limited by the absence of empirical validation or field data. Strengthening legal safeguards and aligning SOE mandates with national industrial strategy emerge as critical steps toward Danantara’s effective implementation.
