Abstract

Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a communication system that uses visible light as its transmission medium to transmit information signals with Light Emitting Diode (LED) and LASER light sources using visible light between 400 THz (375 nm) to 800 THz (780 nm). VLC has several advantages over the use of radio frequencies in a system. Performance analysis is needed to prove these advantages. Performance analysis was carried out using a mathematical computational simulation using google colab with the python programming language. By taking into account the power allocation (?) strategy in the form of gain ratio power allocation (GRPA) and static power allocation (SPA). The interesting thing from this research is that the power allocation in the VLC system greatly influences the resulting performance. So, it can be locked that the SPA power allocation strategy can be adjusted by producing ?? = 1 and finding the optimal BER value in the range of 10-6 to 10^-3.

Abstract

Dynamic economic dispatch (DED) is a crucial task in modern power systems, requiring efficient optimization to minimize generation costs while satisfying operational constraints. This study introduces a Hybrid Electromagnetic Field Optimization with Sine-Cosine Algorithm (EMFO-SCA) tailored to address the unique challenges of the Sulselbar 150 kV power system. Specifically, the algorithm is designed to handle non-linear cost functions, complex constraints, and dynamic load variations across a 24-hour scheduling period. EMFO-SCA achieves a balanced integration of global exploration (via Electromagnetic Field Optimization) and local exploitation (via the Sine-Cosine Algorithm), resulting in robust optimization performance. Applied to a system with seven active generator buses, EMFO-SCA demonstrates an average operational cost reduction of 0.27% compared to the Kho-Kho Algorithm (KKA). This improvement translates to measurable cost savings while maintaining strict adherence to generation limits, ramp rate constraints, and power balance at all intervals. For instance, during peak demand at 521.52 MW (hour 12), the method effectively minimizes costs without compromising operational reliability. The dual-phase design of EMFO-SCA enables faster convergence and higher accuracy than conventional methods, making it a scalable solution for real-world DED challenges. By optimizing power generation schedules dynamically and reliably, this study establishes EMFO-SCA as a significant advancement in energy system optimization, with clear potential for practical deployment in similar power systems.

Abstract

Wireless communication technology continues to face challenges in meeting high bandwidth demands and the capability to serve numerous users. One promising solution is the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme, particularly through the use of power domain (PD) in the application of visible light communication (VLC) technology. However, PD-NOMA still faces power allocation and detection issues at the receiver end. We propose the Cognitive-SIC-VLC method, which considers the line of sight (LOS). Using combined multiplexing techniques, variations in user positions within the system can result in low SNR (dB) values when detecting a BER threshold of 10-3. In three power allocation experiment scenarios, the third scenario was the best with an initial power allocation of 0.95 and a power increment for each user of 0.05. This has been proven to have very low SNR requirements for users close to the LED.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi peserta didik di SMK Telkom Bandung dalam memahami dan menerapkan teknologi jaringan berbasis fiber optik, khususnya pada konfigurasi sistem FTTx (Fiber to The X). Modul yang dikembangkan merepresentasikan topologi jaringan optik secara aktual dengan melibatkan perangkat Optical Termination Box (OTB), joint closure, patch panel, media converter, dan access point, yang dihubungkan melalui media transmisi patchcord, duct kabel, dan FO dropcore. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, instalasi, dan pelatihan teknis kepada siswa. Evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh kelompok peserta, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test berkisar antara 78,9 hingga 84,1, dan meningkat menjadi 85,2 hingga 91,0 pada post-test.  Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pendekatan berbasis praktik yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini efektif dalam menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori dan praktik, meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan kolaboratif, serta relevan untuk diterapkan sebagai model pembelajaran vokasional yang adaptif terhadap kebutuhan industri jaringan dan telekomunikas

Abstract

Program pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan pemahaman siswa SMKN 6 Bandung yang mengambil jurusan elektronika tentang Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT) melalui pemahaman terpadu. Aktivitas dilaksanakan dengan metode penyuluhan interaktif yang mencakup presentasi visual, dan demonstrasi alat Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya portable, dan sesi diskusi untuk memaksimalkan keterlibatan para peserta. Peningkatan pemahaman siswa dikaji melalui pre-test dan post-test, sementara perubahan sikap dan motivasi diukur lewat wawancara mendalam. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pemahaman sebesar 10,64 poin, dari 50,21 di pre-test menjadi 60,85 di post-test serta antusiatisme siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah demonstrasi alat yang menunjukkan pengubahan energi matahari menjadi Listrik. Program ini juga menghasilkan materi edukatif dalam bentuk modul dan video dokumentasi yang dipublikasikan di YouTube. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong siswa berperan dalam mendukung peralihan energi berkelanjutan di sekolah ataupun lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

Abstrak - Tingginya permintaan akan akses internet berkecepatan tinggi di era digital ini mendorong pengembangan infrastruktur jaringan yang andal dan efisien. Teknologi Fiber To The Home (FTTH) berbasis Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) telah menjadi solusi dominan untuk menyediakan layanan triple play langsung ke pelanggan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan menganalisis jaringan FTTH GPON optimal pada lingkungan residensial, serta mengintegrasikan sistem manajemen Mikrotik dan Mikhmon. Metode penelitian meliputi studi literatur, pengumpulan data topografi, dan simulasi perancangan jaringan dengan OptiSystem. Hasil simulasi OptiSystem menunjukkan desain jaringan mencapai kinerja transmisi sangat baik, dengan total redaman 17,6 dB, nilai yang diperoleh berada di bawah batas 28 dB sesuai dengan standar ITU-T G.984 dan Bit Error Rate (BER) mendekati nol, mengindikasikan kualitas sinyal dan margin daya memadai. Implementasi Mikhmon sebagai antarmuka manajemen hotspot intuitif memungkinkan pengelolaan profil pengguna, voucher internet, alokasi bandwidth, dan pemantauan trafik secara efisien. Kombinasi desain jaringan GPON yang robust dengan sistem manajemen Mikhmon yang praktis menjadikan solusi ini layak dan efektif untuk penyediaan akses internet broadband yang stabil dan terkelola baik bagi komunitas perumahan. Abstract

 Pelatihan tentang pemasaran digital sangat berperan dalam mengoptimalkan keunggulan dan daya saing Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah, terutama di wilayah pedesaan seperti Desa Lebakmuncang, Kabupaten Bandung, yang menghadapi masalah dengan pemahaman teknologi yang rendah. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pelaku UMKM dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk memasarkan produk mereka melalui platform online, termasuk pembuatan toko virtual, pengelolaan produk, dan implementasi taktik pemasaran digital. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan cara yang melibatkan partisipasi, dimulai dengan survei awal untuk menilai kebutuhan peserta, kemudian diakhiri dengan pembuatan modul pelatihan yang relevan. Sesi praktis memungkinkan peserta untuk segera menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh. Penilaian setelah pelatihan menunjukkan kemajuan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta, dengan 90,91% memberikan tanggapan positif mengenai relevansi materi.  Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, daya saing, dan pendapatan UMKM di Desa Lebakmuncang. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini dianggap sebagai strategi yang efektif untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal, memungkinkan UMKM untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan teknologi dan memperluas jangkauan pasar mereka, yang nantinya bisa berkontribusi pada peningkatan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan di tingkat desa.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the largest archipelagic country in the world, also has several outer islands. Sebatik Island is one of the 92 outer small islands of Indonesia, located in a strategic position as it borders Malaysia. Various needs of society, one of which is electricity, are very important for people's lives and economic development. Thus, the goal is for all households in Indonesia to have access to electricity by 2024, with both the electrification rate and the ratio of electrified villages reaching 100%. An electricity plan is also necessary to help ensure that electricity is distributed fairly and equitably throughout Indonesia. Load prediction is an essential aspect of the load side of the electric power system that requires careful planning. Machine learning methods are not suitable for application in load prediction analysis in remote areas of small islands, which have limited space. Therefore, this research presents an alternative approach, specifically the spatial method utilizing (RTRW) documents. The application of this spatial method is intended to offer an overview of electricity load predictions that are more aligned with the actual situation. This spatial method analyzes the area size with land use development patterns according to local policies, multiplied by the standard definition of an activity in each spatial unit. Thus, an estimate of the peak load for each year is obtained, even up to ultimate conditions. The load prediction model follows the Gompertz equation, where the ultimate condition obtained is 63.55 MW, which may occur 118 years from the starting point in 2022. Choosing a 90% confidence level in the Monte Carlo simulation provides a reasonable range of predicted values. Based on this new knowledge, a country's electric utility will be able to build infrastructure and generate electricity in a more efficient manner.
