Endophytic fungi are microorganisms reside in the living tissues of the host plant. This fungi can contribute to provide protection to the host from the infection caused by another microorganism. The one reasonable strategy to discover a new antibacterial agent from endophytic fungi are from the plant which lived in special condition such Rhizophora mucronata. The aim of this research is to determine antibacterial activity of the endophytic fungi extracts assosiated with Rhizophora mucronata from Sagara anakan. The isolated endophytic fungi was identified as Neopestalotiopsis sp. and Peniophora lycii using molecular analysis method. The antibacterial activity was carried out by using microdillution method. The antibacterial properties from mycelium extracts showed moderate to low antibacterial activity with Minimum Inhibitory Consentration (MIC) values of 125-500 µg mL-1 against Eshcerichia coli ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 bacteria. The n-hexane extract of both endophytic fungi shows the strongest antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli with MIC values of 125 µg mL-1

Fungi endofit berpotensi sebagai alternatif pengobatan karena menghasilkan senyawa yang sama dengan tumbuhan inangnya. Allium cepa memiliki manfaat sebagai antifungi dan antikolesterol. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah isolasi, identifikasi, serta melakukan uji antifungi dan antikolesterol. Isolat yang diperoleh diidentifikasi secara makroskopik dan mikroskopik. Metode uji antifungi terhadap Candida albicans adalah metode difusi agar dan metode uji antikolesterol menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (pre and posttest control design). Hasil isolasi fungi endofit diperoleh isolat FEAC 1 dan FEAC 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa FEAC 2 memiliki zona hambat sebesar 7,389 mm dan menurunkan kolesterol total secara signifikan serta meningkatkan kolesterol HDL.

Kulit manggis (KM) (Garcinia mangostana L.) diketahui memiliki kemampuan antibakteri Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya kandungan polifenol dan flavonoid pada kulit manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) dan mengetahui kemampuan antibakteri. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi selama 72 jam menggunakan pelarut etil asetat. Uji antibakteri ekstrak etil asetat kulit manggis terhadap Staphyloccocus epidermidis dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram Kirby Bauer. Variasi konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan yaitu 4%, 6%, 8%, dan 10% dengan kontrol positif klindamisin, kontrol negatif akuades. Ekstrak etil asetat G. mangostana L. mengandung polifenol dan flavonoid. Diameter zona hambat rata-rata untuk konsentrasi 4%, 6%, 8%, dan 10% secara berurutan yaitu 12 mm; 12 mm; 12,5 mm; 13,5 mm. Nilai tersebut berbeda signifikan dengan kontrol negatif yang tidak menghambat pertumbuhan Staphyloccocus epidermidis.

Increase prevalence of degenerative disease caused by free radicals. Zingiber aromaticum is known to be used as traditional medicine. The purpose of this study was to known antioxidant activity and total flavonoid content of Z. aromaticum from Lembang. The extract was obtained by maceration method using ethanol solvent. Total flavonoid content was carried out using spectrophotometry. The antioxidant activities was carried out by Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) method. Corellation between total flavonoid content and antioxidant activities using statistic with Pearson’s Correlation method. The results shown that antioxidant activities of Z. aromaticum is weak with total flavonoid content is 9,924 ± 0,544 mg quercetin/ g extract.

Brotowali (Tinospora crispa) has been traditionally used for the treatment of gout and scientifically reported as analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antihyperuricemic agents. Tinospora crispa stem is one of herbal medicine material that its quality should be standardized. This study aims to determine the quality parameters of the T. crispa ethanolic extract included specific and non-specific parameters. Brotowali stem were macerated using ethanol 70%, then the non-specific parameters such as the water content, total ash, total contaminant number of bacteria and fungus were determined. The specific parameters including organoleptic properties, water soluble extract, ethanol soluble extract, and the thin layer chromatography (TLC) profile have also been determined. The parameter values were compared to the qualification of traditional medicine from Department of Health (Depkes R.I.). The result showed that T.crispa stem ethanolic extract has the water content was 8.12±0.06% and the total ash was 5.20 ± 0.12%. The microbiology results showed that the total contaminant of bacteria as much as 5 x 102 CFU/g and fungus as much as 5 x 103 CFU/g. This extract was brown viscous extract, bitter taste and characteristic odor with water soluble fraction was 45.09 ± 0.67% and ethanol soluble fraction was 14.19 ± 0.14%. The TLC profile of ethanolic extract indicates the existence of flavonoids and alkaloids. Total flavonoids of brotowali extract (32.65 ± 0.20%) rutin equivalent.

Syzygium polychepalum (gowok) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang sering digunakan sebagai obat tradisional di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan kajian fitokimia terhadap daun gowok yang berasal dari Purwokerto. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi, sedangkan fraksinasi dan pemurnian dilakukan dengan metode kromatografi vakum cair dan gravitasi. Karakterisasi senyawa hasil isolasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode spektroskopi 1H-NMR dan GC-MS. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa isolat merupakan senyawa asam lemak jenuh yaitu asam heksadekanoat dan 3-etilpropanoat.

The ethanolic extracts of S. samarangense leaves were examined for antibacterial activity in vitro using broth microdillution method. The extracts showed effective against Bacillus cereus, Salmonella enterica with MIC (minimum inhibition concentration) value 78 µg/ml and against multi strains of Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Kocuria rhizophila with MIC value 2500 µg/mL, 2500 µg/mL and 156 µg/mL. Phytochemical screening of S. samarangense was observed for the presence of tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids.

Syzygium jambos (jambu mawar) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan tropis khas Indonesia. Tumbuhan ini secara empiris telah digunakan sebagai tumbuhan obat tradisional. Kajian fitokimia tumbuhan ini yang berasal dari Indonesia masih terbatas.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi senyawa fenolik dari bagian daun S. jambos asal Purwokerto. Proses ektraksi daun S. jambos dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode maserasi. Fraksinasi dan pemurnian ektrak menggunakan metode kromatografi vakum cair dan kromatografi gravitasi. Identifikasi isolat dilakukan menggunakan metode spektroskopi 1H-NMR dan 13C-NMR. Berdasarkan hasil isolasi yang dilakukan telah diperoleh satu senyawa fenolik yaitu asam anakardat dengan rantai samping alkil diena.

Introduction: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) better known as Covid-19 is a new type of coronavirus that transmitted to humans. This virus is contagious quickly and has spread to almost all countries, including Indonesia, in just a few months. Public awareness and behavior are needed to prevent and control COVID-19. Objective: This activity aimed to increase public knowledge and attitudes to actively participate in preventing and controlling the transmission of Covid 19. Method: The implementation of this activity begins with the process of evaluating the level of knowledge and attitudes of PKK cadres regarding the prevention and control of Covid-19 by conducting a pre-test using a questionnaire. Then, the team provided education about the prevention and control of Covid-19 by using appropriate media. This activity was carried out using the transfer & sharing method of knowledge by using aids of audiovisual media and leaflets. Besides being open for discussion sessions, questions, and answers related to Covid-19. Result: The results showed an increase in respondents' knowledge before and after education by as much as 47%, while the attitudes of respondents showed an increase before and after education by as much as 47%. Conclusion: We concluded that providing education related to Covid 19 could increase people's knowledge and attitudes.
