Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by TB germs (Mycobacterium Tuberculosis). The entry of Tuberculosis bacteria will infect the lower respiratory tract which can result in productive coughing and coughing up blood. Some nursing interventions to overcome the problem of airway cleaning ineffectiveness include effective coughing exercises. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of effective cough on sputum removal in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Research Methods: The study design used was Quasi Experimental Pre-test and Post-test. The population of 15 respondents included all pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Balaraja Hospital. A sample of 10 respondents was taken using Non Probability sampling. Independent variables are effective cough and dependent variable sputum expenditure Analysis of data with the Wilcoxon Match Pair Test with a significant level of a≤ 0.05. Research Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents were unable to excrete sputum before being trained in effective cough of 4 respondents (40.0%), respondents who had moderate sputum expenditure as much as 6 respondents and respondents could excrete large amounts of sputum after being trained for effective coughing by 6 respondents (60.0% ), respondents who issued a lot of medium sputum were 4 respondents (40.0%) and the results of the Wilcoxon Match Pair Test were 0.04 which meant <0.05 then Ha was accepted. Conclusion: It means that there was an effective effect of cough on sputum release in Tuberculosis patients at Balaraja Hospital. Pulmonary Tuberculosis patients by doing effective cough can save energy so it does not get tired easily and can expel phlegm optimally and is recommended one day before sputum examination, patients are advised to drink warm water to facilitate sputum removal. Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease who characterized by high or low blood glucose values who caused by the inability pancreas to produce insulin, so self-management behavior is very important either for treatment or DM – Related complication preventions, but some DM patient has low motivation to doing self-management. The purpose of this study to was known the relationship between Motivation and Self-Management in Patient with DM in RSUD Kabupaten Tangerang. Methods: The design of this study used analytic observational with a Cross-Sectional approach. Sample taking technique used consecutive sampling with a total sample as much as 74 respondents. The instrument in this study used Treatment Self-Regulation Questionnaires (TSRQ) and the Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). Results: The result showed that low motivation with a bad self-management category has 20 respondents (66.7%), while for high motivation with good self-management category has 28 respondents (63.6%). Conclusion: The result of the statistic Chi-Square test showed that the relationship between Motivation with Self-Management in Patients with DM with scoring. Therefore it should be for health providers especially nurse able to increase the motivation of DM patients to do self-management and able to evaluate how the patient's motivation in applying self-management behavior in their life.  Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Motivation, Self-Management.

Abstract

Introduction: Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) leading cause of death in Indonesia. Central obesity is one of the risk factors that is often found in patients with CAD. The ratio of waist and hip circumference (waist hip ratio) method is considered as the anthropometric measurement which is more sensitive, cheaper and easier to assess central obesity. This study aims to determine the relationship between hip and waist circumference ratio with the incidence of coronary heart disease in cardiac polyclinic of Tangerang general hospital on 2018. Method: Study is an analytic study using cross-sectional study design. Sampling studied used consecutive sampling with 68 sampels.Analysis of relationship between hip and waist circumference ratio with the incidence of CAD uses statistic test of Chi Square with a significant degree (α) was 0,05.Results and Discussion: The result was old as much 43 56 – 65  years old (63,2%), gender as much 42 man (61,8%), Job as much 61 not work (89,7%), Based on the results with value of p-value was 0.004 (p value<α).Conclusion and suggestion: The conclution wasthe relationship between the ratio of waist and hips with the incidence of CAD. It recommends to add other variables for identfying incidence of Coronary Artery Disease. Keywords: Atherosclerosis, Coronary Artery Disease, Ratio Hip and waist

Abstract

Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) menjadi penyebab utama kematian secara global. Di Indonesia, peyakit kardiovaskular ditemukan terdapat pada semua kelompok usia. Kelompok usia remaja akhir menuju dewasa muda seperti mahasiswa tidak luput dari risiko terkena penyakit kardiovaskular. Gaya hidup dan perilaku pola makan mahasiswa mengarah pada meningkatnya risiko penyakit kardiovaskular. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan pengetahuan faktor risiko penyakit jantung dengan perilaku pola makan mahasiswa teknik. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan cross sectional yang melibatkan 350 orang mahasiswa teknik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang berisi pertanyaan tetang pengetahuan faktor risiko penyakit jantung dengan perilaku pola makan, masing-masing berisi 15 pertanyaan. Analisis data menggunakan metode Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian, mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki, berusia 21-22 tahun, memiliki pengetahuan kurang, dan perilaku pola makan negatif. Terdapat hubungan pengetahuan faktor risiko penyakit jantung dengan perilaku pola makan mahasiswa dengan p-value = 0,012. Pengetahuan dan pemahaman menjaga kesehatan jantung merupakan hal penting yang mendukung perilaku pola makan yang dapat berpengaruh pada kesehatan jantung di masa mendatang.Kata Kunci: Mahasiswa, Pengetahuan, Pola Makan
