Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving EM4 probiotics on the growth and survival rate of snakehead (Channa striata). This research was carried out at the Fish Hatchery Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Universitas Syiah Kuala. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments used, namely A (control), B (EM4 6 ml/kg of feed), C (EM4 8 ml/kg of feed), and D (EM4 10 ml/kg of feed). The results showed that the addition of 10 ml/kg of feed of EM4 probiotic resulted in an absolute length growth of 1.60±0.17 cm, an absolute weight growth of 1.85±0.18 gram, a specific growth rate of 1.97±0.10 % per day, a feed conversion ratio of 1.56±0.03, feed efficiency 64.19±1.41 % and survival rate 97.78±3.85 %. The results of this study can be concluded that the addition of probiotic EM4 10 ml/kg of feed can increase the growth and survival rate of snakehead (Channa striata).Keywords:Channa striataEM4Commercial feedGrowthSurvival rate

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possibility of jaloh leaf powders as alternative raw material for the formulated diet ofAfrican catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Four concentrations of jaloh leaf powders (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%) were examined in this study. The experimental fish were fed three times a day (on 08.00 am, 12.00 am and 17.00 pm) with feeding ration of 5% of body weight and the fish was reared for 35 days. The ANOVA test showed that the different concentration of jaloh leaf powders gave a significantly effect on growth performance of African catfish larvae (P0,05) but did not give significantly effect on the survival rate (P0,05). The Duncans test showed that the higher survival rate and growth performance were found in the control (without jaloh leaf powders). Therefore it is concluded that the jaloh leaf powders is not suitable as alternativerows material for African catfish diet.Key words: Protein; Carbohydrate; Catfish; Alternative feed Abstrak. Dalam penelitian ini telah diuji beberapa tingkat proporsi tepung daun jaloh yaitu (0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15%) .Pemberian pakan dilakukan tiga kali sehari, yaitu pada pukul 08.00, 12.00 dan 17.00 WIB,sebanyak5%dari berat bobot tubuhnyaselama 35 hari. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun jaloh memberikan pengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan mutlak dan pertumbuhan harian benih ikan lele dumbo (P0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup (P0,05). Uji lanjut Duncan’s  menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kontrol (tanpa daun jaloh) dalam pakan memberikan hasil terbaik dari segi pertumbuhan mutlak, pertumbuhan harian dan kelangsungan hidup. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan tepung daun jaloh kurang sesuai sebagai bahan baku alternatif dalam pakan ikan lele dumbo.Kata kunci: Protein; Karbohidrat; Ikan lele; Pakan alternatif

Abstract

Lobster merupakan sumber daya perikanan memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Di antara beberapa spesies lobster, Panulirus versicolor dan Panulirus homarus memiliki keunggulan karena dipilih sebagai cikal bakal budidaya. Ini ada hubungannya dengan permintaan pasar, harga tinggi dan ketersediaan benih di alam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk identifikasi dan prevalensi ektoparasit pada Lobster Bambu (Panulirus versicolor) dan Lobster Pasir (Panulirus homarus) yang dilalulintaskan melalui Bandara Sultan Iskandar Muda, Aceh.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September – Oktober 2022, bertepatan di Laboratorium Parasit Stasiun Karantina Ikan, Pengendalian Mutu dan Keamanan Hasil Perikanan (SKIPM), Blang Bintang, Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik pengambilan sampel secara random sampling yaitu dilakukan di bulan September dan Oktober untuk jenis yang dilalulintaskan yaitu lobster bambu dan lobster pasir. Sampel dipilih melalui pemeriksaan fisik dan klinis terlebih dahulu lalu diperiksa secara laboratory di Laboratorium Stasiun KIPM Aceh untuk di identifikasi jenis parasitnya. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di SKIPM ditemukan jenis parasit Octolasmis sp. dengan tingkat prevalensi serangan ektoparasit pada lobster bambu (Panulirus versicolor) sebesar 0,66% dengan kategori prevalensi sangat jarang dan lobster pasir (Panulirus Homarus) sebesar 0,6% dengan kategori prevalensi sangat jarang, sedangkan untuk tingkat intensitas serangan ektoparasit pada lobster bambu (Panulirus versicolor) sebesar 4 dengan kategori rendah dan untuk intensitas pada lobster pasir (Panulirus Homarus) 4,5 dengan kategori rendah. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di SKIPM, Aceh Besar ditemukan parasit jenis Octolasmis sp. pada lobster Panulirus versicolor dan Panulirus Homarus yang dilalulintaskan.

Abstract

Beureunut is one of the villages in Mukim Lampanah, Seulimeum ​​District, Aceh Besar Regency. This village is close to the coast and is flowed by a river which has become an eel breeding location. The potential of Beureunut Village can be an opportunity to develop the Aquascape business. The potential in the form of small fish that can be used as ornamental fish and freshwater plants that can be obtained from rivers requires innovation so that it can be further developed so that it has added value and high selling value. This service activity aims to provide knowledge and skills about Aquascape entrepreneurship to the Beurenut village community which can become economic potential in the future. This activity will be carried out in September 2022 using the methods of counseling, training and assistance in making Aquascape. The results obtained were that the participants were very active and enthusiastic in participating in this activity and the evaluation showed a change in knowledge of up to 90% compared to before participating in this training. Therefore, it is hoped that consistent assistance and supervision is needed so that this activity can be carried out independently and become a potential income for the community in the future.
