Abstract

This research aims to improve the social skills of fourth grade elementary school students by using the role playing method. The main subject, a female student who tends to be quiet and lacks interaction in class, experiences obstacles in aspects of social skills, such as communication, cooperation, sharing, participation and adaptation. The role playing method was applied in three meetings involving three classmates as supporters. The results of the intervention show a significant improvement in students' social skills, although there are still several things that need to be improved. Role playing techniques have proven to be effective in helping students develop the courage to interact and participate actively in the school environment. It is hoped that this method can be a reference for teachers and parents to help children develop social skills on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

An orphanage is a social institution that functions to provide protection, care, and guidance for children who have lost the support of their nuclear families. Its role is not limited to fulfilling basic needs but also contributes significantly to education and character development. Teachers working in orphanages face dual roles as educators and caregivers, requiring psychological resilience to manage emotional pressures, limited resources, and the complexity of social relationships in the workplace. In this context, resilience becomes a key factor that enables teachers to adapt, overcome obstacles, and develop effective strategies to maintain both personal and professional stability. This study aims to describe teacher resilience at Muhammadiyah Orphanage Lamongan using a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of two teachers, with data collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation, supported by triangulated information from significant others. The findings indicate that both subjects experienced resilience dynamics due to dual roles and adaptation difficulties, particularly in time management and task distribution. Nevertheless, strategies such as effective time management, utilization of social support, and reflective ability in interpreting experiences proved to be essential factors in strengthening their resilience. The study concludes that teacher resilience in orphanages is an adaptive process shaped by the interaction of personal, social, and contextual factors. Therefore, institutional interventions in the form of self-management training and enhanced environmental support are necessary to ensure the sustainability of teachers’ roles in orphanages.

Abstract

Kasus pelecehan seksual di Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan, termasuk di Kabupaten Gresik yang banyak melibatkan korban remaja perempuan. Pelecehan seksual tidak hanya menimbulkan dampak fisik, tetapi juga gangguan psikologis seperti kecemasan, depresi, dan stres, sehingga korban membutuhkan pendampingan yang tepat untuk memulihkan kondisi emosionalnya. Artikel ini membahas pelaksanaan konseling individu berbasis daring bagi korban pelecehan seksual di Biro ASCA Elpida. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus dengan asesmen awal menggunakan DASS-42, kemudian dilanjutkan tiga sesi konseling yang berfokus pada eksplorasi emosi, restrukturisasi kognitif, dan penguatan mekanisme koping. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan gejala kecemasan dan stres, serta peningkatan kemampuan klien dalam mengenali, mengekspresikan, dan mengelola emosinya. Klien juga menunjukkan perkembangan dalam membangun kembali rasa percaya diri dan keterlibatan sosial. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa konseling daring dapat menjadi alternatif pendampingan psikologis yang efektif, fleksibel, dan ramah korban.

Abstract

Low learning interest is one of the main problems commonly experienced by slow learner students in elementary schools. This condition affects students’ attention, participation, and willingness to engage in learning activities. Therefore, learning strategies that provide concrete and easily understood learning experiences are needed for slow learner students. This study aims to describe the implementation of the modelling technique in improving the learning interest of slow learner students in elementary school. This research employed a qualitative approach with a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The research subjects consisted of three third-grade students categorized as slow learners. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Learning interest was measured based on three aspects: attention, enjoyment, and enthusiasm. The results showed that the application of the modelling technique led to positive changes in students’ learning interest, indicated by increased attention during learning, more active participation in classroom activities, and improved self-confidence. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showed a significance value of p = 0.102, indicating that the improvement was not statistically significant. However, the consistent positive behavioral changes observed in all subjects suggest that the modelling technique has a positive practical impact on improving the learning interest of slow learner students. Thus, the modelling technique can be considered an alternative adaptive learning strategy to support inclusive learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Down Syndrome adalah kondisi genetik akibat kelebihan kromosom 21, menyebabkan keterbelakangan mental dan fisik. Di Indonesia, diperkirakan terdapat sekitar 300.000 anak dengan Down Syndrome, banyak yang bersekolah di tingkat dasar. Anak-anak ini sering menghadapi tantangan dalam perkembangan bahasa, termasuk keterlambatan berbicara dan kesulitan membaca serta menulis. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan metode Montessori untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sensori motorik pada seorang siswa berusia 17 tahun dengan Down Syndrome di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan Guru Pendamping Khusus (GPK) dan observasi langsung. Desain penelitian menggunakan one group pretest posttest, dengan analisis data menggunakan Normalized Gain/N-Gain Score. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata N-Gain Score sebesar 0,326, yang tergolong dalam kategori Sedang. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa metode Montessori berdampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan sensori motorik, meskipun efektivitasnya tergolong sedang.

Abstract

Siswa dengan gangguan Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) dan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) seringkali menghadapi kesulitan dalam menjaga fokus belajar, mengelola perilaku, serta mengikuti instruksi dengan konsisten di lingkungan sekolah inklusif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberhasilan penerapan strategi self-monitoring berbasis visual support dalam meningkatkan fokus belajar pada seorang siswa berusia 16 tahun dengan ADHD dan autisme di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan guru BK dan Duru Pendamping Khusus (GPK) serta observasi langsung terhadap perilaku fokus belajar siswa selama proses intervensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest posttest. Analisis data menggunakan penghitungan Normalized Gain/N-Gain Score dan evaluasi perubahan perilaku on-task. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kemajuan yang bermakna dalam kemampuan fokus belajar siswa dengan rata-rata N-Gain Score sebesar 0,75 yang tergolong sedang. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi self-monitoring berbasis visual support berdampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan fokus belajar siswa dengan ADHD dan Autisme.
