Abstract

Learning the language is very important, including learning English. However, based onresearch conducted by EF World Institute of Education English First announced the firstcomprehensive report, the on index English proficiency index in 44 English proficiencycountries in Indonesia is very low in the 34th place. One of the biggest factors in Englishlearning is that students need vocabulary mastery. In learning English in elementaryschool the understanding of English vocabulary is still difficult because teachers deliverlearning only by lecture methods, let alone the use of very minimal media, so because ofthat method teaching and learning process makes the students feel boring because itfeels monotonous. One way to make English learning effective is to use a learning modelthat can provide meaning and fun for students. Team Game Tournament learning modelbased on Vocabulary Card Media is expected to make students active and excited so thatstudents can easily understand the material studied.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 menyisakan berbagai macam masalah bukan hanya masalah kesehatan (fisik) melainkan masalah psikososial.Wabah Covid-19 menjadi stressor bagi tenaga kesehatan maupun bagi masyarakat.Masalah psikososial yang ditimbulkan memiliki dampak yang lebih luas dan lebih lama dibandingkan dengan cedera fisik, sedangkan perhatian bagi kesehatan mental tidak menjadi prioritas penanganan masalah kesehatan selama pandemic Covid-19.Respons umum dari orang-orang yang terdampak (baik secara langsung atau tidak) antara lain takut jatuh sakit dan meninggal, tidak mau datang ke fasilitas layanan kesehatan karena takut tertular saat dirawat, takut kehilangan mata pencaharian, tidak dapat bekerja selama isolasi, dan dikeluarkan dari pekerjaan, takut diasingkan masyarakat/ dikarantina karena dikait-kaitkan dengan penyakit (seperti rasisme terhadap orang yang berasal dari, atau dianggap berasal dari tempattempat terdampak), merasa tidak berdaya untuk melindungi orang-orang terkasih dan takut kehilangan orang-orang terkasih karena virus yang menyebar, takut terpisah dari orang-orang terkasih dan pengaruh karena aturan karantina, menolak untuk mengurusi anak kecil yang sendirian atau terpisah, penyandang disabilitas atau orang berusia lanjut karena takut infeksi, karena orangtuanya atau pengasuhnya dikarantina, merasa tidak berdaya, bosan, kesepian dan depresi selagi diisolasi, takut mengalami pengalaman wabah sebelumnya. Istilah besar ‘dukungan kesehatan jiwa dan psikososial (DKJPS) digunakan dalam Panduan Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC) untuk DKJPS dalam situasi kedaruratan, yang berarti ‘dukungan jenis apapun dari luar atau local yang bertujuan melindungi atau meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis dan/ atau mencegah atau menangani kondisi kesehatan jiwa.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic leaves various kinds of problems, including health problems (physical) and psychosocial problems. The Covid-19 outbreak is a stressor for health workers and the community. Psychosocial problems caused have a wider and longer impact than physical injuries, while attention to mental health is not a priority for handling health problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Common responses from affected people (directly or indirectly) include fear of falling ill and dying, not wanting to come to health care facilities for fear of being infected while being treated, fear of losing their livelihood, not being able to work during isolation and being expelled from work. Then, they are also afraid of being ostracized by the community/quarantining because they are associated with disease (such as racism because they are considered to come from an affected place), feel powerless to protect loved ones, fear losing loved ones, afraid of being separated from loved ones and influence due to quarantine rules. In addition, people also refuse to take care of young children who are alone or separated, people with disabilities, or elderly for fear of infection because their parents or caregivers are quarantined, feel helpless, bored, lonely, and depressed while isolated, and afraid of experiencing previous outbreaks. The term Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPS) is used in the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines for MHPS in an emergency situation, which means any external or local support to protect or enhance psychological well-being and/or preventing or treating mental health conditions.

Abstract

The development of digital flipbooks based on local wisdom as a medium for learning Indonesian language material aims to improve learning outcomes. The choice of flipbook as a learning medium is due to the characteristics of Indonesian language subjects, the majority of which are text-oriented which can cause learning boredom in students. Flipbooks are seen as innovative and interesting media that can illustrate concrete experiences in academic concepts so that they can give rise to contextual learning. Flipbook was developed using the ADDIE model including five stages, namely 1) analysis; 2) design; 3) development; 4) implementation and 5) evaluation. The subjects are teachers and students, while the object is a digital flipbook as a learning medium. The material used in learning media is Indonesian language material and local wisdom content. The research results show that the development of Flipbook learning media as digital media can have a positive impact on both teachers and students in improving learning outcomes. The aspect of Indonesian language material used in flipbook media has relevance. This can be seen from the compatibility between descriptive text material which is integrated with local cultural wisdom and tourist attractions. Furthermore, procedural text material is integrated with local food and arts and crafts wisdom.Keywords: flipbook, local wisdom, integration, learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between postpartum depression and the motivation of exclusive breastfeeding for the first month of infants. This research is observational research with a cross-sectional study design with a quantitative approach. The study results using the Mann Whitney test, the significance value indicated a p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, there is a relationship between postpartum depression and mothers' motivation in exclusive breastfeeding in the first month. Abstract

The issue of radicalism and intolerance in educational institutions has become a phenomenon that is widely seen, not least on Public Higher Education (PTU) campuses. It has become a hot theme and a particular concern for all groups, such as academics, religious scholars, the general public and even the central government. as well as regional. The aim of this research is to find out the extent of the role of the Student Santri Teachers (PASMA) in instilling the value of moderation in students. The method in this research uses qualitative research, which is a research process that produces descriptive data in the form of written and spoken words from the people and actors observed. The result of this research is that the Student Santri Community Service (PASMA) activity aims to provide students with religious provisions. PASMA activities are carried out through group methods and moving classes where each Pamong provides material in different classes with the same material. Through this activity, it is hoped that students will have a deep and moderate understanding of religion.

Abstract

Teaching material is important to be applied in the teaching and learning process. It is supposed to be related to the student’s needs and traits. Nevertheless, there are several appropriateness of worksheet compiling as supporting material. The research in this paper attempted to find out the need for Multiple Intelligence-based student’s worksheet developments and offer possible recommendations. It employed a qualitative approach and involved 13 English teachers as respondents. They were from selected elementary schools located in various regencies in Central Java. A set of questionnaires was administered and delivered online through Google Forms. It is provided a number of closed and open-ended questions related to the existing curriculum, competency, media and activities, students’ characters, and challenges in compiling the student’s worksheet. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results reveal that there was a lack of compulsory curriculum and competency, appropriate activities, and environmental interactions. Thus, it is recommended for teachers to take a well-planned curriculum; various activities connected to parental supports, realia, digital tools; and students’ personal traits in developing students’ worksheets. It is a reference to promote a better quality of Teaching English to Young Learners.
